Don't you hate when friends and family ask that?

We decided 2011 b/c it would give us more time to plan with all the stress and chaos. All we need some time to save some $$ to help pay for this party... lol

Why did you decided in 2011?

I am currently in nursing school and it is the most logical idea to simply wait until I graduate.  No sense in trying to plan a wedding while I'm trying to get through school.  Also, we want to save money so that when we are married we can get our own house or apartment and not have to have roommates.  But, as odd as it is, we've already been engaged for a year and a half and we have two years left to go!!!

Because we both got kids and bills, bills, bills!!!!  We don't want to go into a marriage with debt just because we wanted a nice wedding.  So we are saving, saving, and then more saving.  Plus, we been living in sin for the past 2 years already, what's another 2?  This is just us throwing the party and actually sealing it with a kiss, we're not in a rush for anything.

Because we have other family members that are getting married in 2010(they got engaged after us) so we got the shaft and have to wait.  We also  live 1500 miles away from our families so they will have to come down here.

Oops already kind said this on another board but....

short form:  Important family members will be out of the country in 2010. Money, easier to save over 22 months than one year.  FI is going back to university for an engineering degree and we want to get his first year finished before the wedding. No one wants us to rush, they want us to take our time and it will give our folks more time to save to help out.

#! MONEY!! is the biggest obstacle to overcome for us. Stretching it to 2011 will give us time to save and pay off some bills as we go. We are paying for the wedding ourselves. Some members of the family have offered to pay for some things but the bulk of the expense will be ours. Other smaller factors that weighed in the decision: 1) We wanted a spring wedding close to our anniversary and next year March was way too close for us, so we decided on our 5th year anniversary in 2011. 2) I have braces on! no way I'm getting married with them, yea they're clear but I CAN SEE THEM...lol. 3) He's been away for over a year and a half for work and just returned home. We want to give ourselves some time to reconnect again :0). There's no big rush! We want the wedding to be the best day that we are able to make it.

We arent waiting to get married, we're actually going to get married now at the courthouse since he is leaving for Afghanistan all next year... then we're gonna have our big wedding when he gets back on our 'dating anniversary' May 21, 2011 :)

so.. the military is making us wait! ;)

I have a 2nd job so all I do is keep stacking my chips from that gig and put it into a savings account.  That's our wedding fund!

We have also whittled down our cell phone minutes and cable to save more of those cash cookies for our wedding.  But hey, every little cent counts...
