My DH was injured on the job June 2009. He went to the approved doctor, took a drug test as required, and gave his employer ALL of the paperwork. The manager said it was "taken care of". Three months later we get a statement in the mail for
$1500 for this incident from the hospital. He contacts the boss again, and the boss says he will "look into it" and calls back saying it should be taken care of this time.
Fast forward to Dec 2009, we get a letter stating that we are going to be sent to collections and taken to court if not paid within 30 days, DH contacts the corporate manager, HR department, and practically everyone in the entire company. He is
told he has to send all the paperwork AGAIN and so he faxes it, emails it, and mails it all to them AGAIN. They said it was paid for in full and we should no longer be bothered about this.
Tonight, DH gets a phone call from a company trying to find out his current address to send him legal papers. They are bringing the papers by tomorrow, then we will have about 30 days to file an answer or go to court.
WTF do we do? Should we get a lawyer? We feel helpless!
