I was on the pill for almost 11 years when I went off of it in August/Septemberish. My first month was 32 days long, second was 29 and the third month we conceived. So try not to worry about it too much and just enjoy it :) A lot of people dont have problems conceiving after being on birth control. But we all tend to hear the horror stories and that's what we remember.

We haven't started ttc and won't be for another few months, but I did go off of BC after my Nov period. First non BC period came in 28 days, the second in 29 so things have been right on track.

Great question!  I'm wondering the same thing and would love to hear from more ladies.

I was on birth control for many years (5 on Depo, then 6 on the pill). When I stopped taking the pill last May, my cycles were long and varying in length. If I remember correctly the first one was 37 days, then 47 days (that sucked), then 41, 37 and I think my last cycle was around 34 days (I got pregnant that cycle).  So I had 4 cycles in 6 months.  Other than the length though I didn't have any side effects, which I know some women do have.

Good luck!

My cycle went totally back to normal after being on BC for many years.

I was on the BC pill for almost 8 years.  My cycles were 28 days prior to going on the pill and they returned to 28 days after going off.

I went off it after about 10 years and had one normal period and then got a BFP.  My cycles went back to what I remember them being- around 24 days vs the normal 28.  Once you go off, you can be fertile right away so be ready.

Sorry, I am one of the ones that had a bad experience with going off of BC.  It would appear that I had pcos for most of my life and when I went on BC and then off of it about a year later (first time in my life on it), it broke the back of my pcos and stopped my natural cycles completely for almost a year and a 1/2.  The only reason I had any kind of cycles was because I induced my period once 3 months in with provera, and then again in June (a year after I went off of BC) with prometrium which I started taking every 6 weeks if no AF showed up for me and no BFP's.  I was found to have pcos a couple months over a year after I stopped BC, and it took me another 3 months after that to get my natural cycles back.

I don't think there is anything you CAN do at this point but to wait and see how your body will respond to being off BC.  Most people probably don't have issues and very few will probably experience anything as crazy and frustrating as what I've been through, but from what I've read, many WILL experience irregular cycles and sometimes have no cycle for months at a time while the body regulates itself back to normal functioning.  If you were asking should you go on BC, my answer would be a resounding NO based on my experiences.  :)

Good luck!!!
