My husband and I contracted with Ian Grant to photograph our wedding at The Immaculata and The Lodge at Torrey Pines in April 2010. We could not have been more pleased with our decision. The photos are beautiful and exactly what we had hoped for. From start to finish, Ian was one of the most professional and responsive professionals we contracted with for our wedding.
Ian responded promptly to all of my inquiries and requests. He and his wife Tanya work well as a team and were a pleasure to work with. Both are professional, friendly, and very talented. One thing that impressed me very much about Ian was his constant positive and attentive attitude. We spoke briefly a few weeks before the wedding to relay my requests for photographs on the wedding day. Ian met every one of them.
Ian promptly displayed all of our engagement and wedding photos on a professional and user friendly website that I can access with a login and password and the photos are amazing! He captured a great variety...first look, details, portraits, ceremony, formals, and reception. There are a few portraits of me and my husband on a Craftsman-era sofa beneath a painting and surrounded by two tiffany lamps in The Lodge that are so classic and brilliant. He also spotted a couple beautiful trees with pink blooming flowers outside the church for additional photos that I had somehow never previously noticed. Ian produced so many beautiful portraits. He also successfully captured many significant moments and expressions during the ceremony. There were a few very brief emotional moments that I recall during the ceremony that Ian somehow managed to capture.
I was truly amazed with every aspect and highly recommend him.

I purchased my bridesmaids' Vera Wang dresses at Mary Me Bridal. Their selection of bridesmaid dresses is amazing. The best of any bridal store I visited. The sales associate was great to work with and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. I was very pleased with the process. The dresses came earlier than projected and were in perfect condition. The store loses one star because they are unable to quote in advance the cost of length alterations for the dresses I purchased. I would like to offer to pay for the length alterations through the store for my bridesmaids, but that is hard to do when I do not know the figure I am working with. I also tried on wedding dresses at Mary Me Bridal but did not purchase my wedding dress at the store. The store has a large selection of wedding dresses, but nothing in my taste. The wedding dress sales associate was professional and pleasant to work with.

I purchased my Melissa Sweet wedding dress from The White Dress. The White Dress had the best selection of dresses of the bridal stores I visited. The dresses and store are gorgeous. The owner has excellent taste. I worked with Nancy who I highly recommend. She was absolutely wonderful to work with. My dress arrived several months earlier than projected, was in perfect condition, and was appropriately protected for storage at my home. There is an earlier post mentioning size 0 dresses. That was not my experience at The White Dress. All dresses I tried on were size 8. Alterations are not performed by The White Dress, but the store provides a list of tailors. I was very pleased with my experience.

I visited five bridal stores before purchasing my wedding dress. Saks Beverly Hills was by far the most unprofessional and unpleasant of all stores. I expected that I would purchase my dress at Saks. I made an appointment a week in advance. I ran into traffic (driving from Orange County) on my way up and called from the road to apologize and advise that I was about 15 minutes away from the store and would be about 10 minutes late for my appointment. The girl from the bridal salon who answered the phone was extremely rude. She said that I should go home and reschedule another appointment. I explained (again) that I had already driven 1.5 hours from Orange County, had my mother and sister with me, and would appreciate it if they would still take my appointment. She continued that appointments are limited to 1 hour (this was never disclosed to me when I made the appointment), so I may still come in, but would lose 10 minutes for being late. When I showed up, they had me fill out paperwork that took about 10 minutes. I provided photos of a couple Vera Wang and Christos dresses I wanted to try on from the 2008 and 2009 collections. Saks had none of them. At that point, my sister and I just started going through the dresses as quickly as possible, and grabbed what we could. I had time to try on only a couple dresses before my time was up. I still wanted to try on two Vera Wang dresses that the store did not have. The sales associate offered to have them brought in for me and I said I would like that. She said they would be available in about two weeks. After two weeks of hearing nothing, I called to inquire. The sales associate advised it would be another week. Over two months later, I never heard back. During my visit to Saks, I was the only customer in the bridal salon and one of only a few customers in the entire store. Hard to imagine they are doing well enough to treat customers as if it is a privilege to be given an hour to shop in their store. Oh, and the rude girl that answered the phone looked to be about 20 years old. While we were in the bridal salon, she walked into a wall, then apologized...to the wall. Very strange and unprofessional behavior by both this girl and the sales associate -- the only two employees in the salon while we were there. Don't waste your time at Saks Beverly Hills.
