AWFUL!!!! I can not begin to explain the horrific experience I had with this company. I met Amanda at a Bridal Show and loved her. I then met with her and felt confident in the company. I had an appointment to meet with the owner Xavi at her house to go over our floral contract and to make arrangements to have Xavi as the coordinator (Amanda did not feel comfortable heading up the floral as well as the coordintating so she suggested the owner). When we arrived Xavi answered the door on the phone, and in her pajamas...she forgot about our appointment!! Red Flag! But after speaking with her she ensured us that we had made a good decsion. Next came our appointment at our venue in Santa Barbara in which I was told I would see a full table set up. After her 45 minutes late arrival she showed up with a few small (in comparison to the price!) arrangements and a linen. We did our food tasting and she halfway layed out the linen and placed the arrangemtn down and said to imagaine the votives around. Not exactly what I was thinking.
Now, let me just state that my father was not too excited about spending money on flowers because to him they were a waste because they die. It took much convincing to have him say okay. With that said, following our tasting we sat down, Xavi, Amanda, my mother and myself, and discussed my budget for the wedding (as Xavi was the coordinator) and to discuss the flowers. When Xavi heard our budget, she then tried to upsell me on the flowers. She ended up sending me a quote and DOUBLED the cost we had originally agreed on. Are you kidding me!? Following my reciept of this email/quote, I wrote an email informing them of my disgust with how I was being treated. I let them know that I no longer would like Xavi to coordinate my wedding as I believed she was completley unprofessional, rude, and lacked the care and concern she should have for a client. I did state that I appreciated the hard work that Amanda had displayed. Not to my suprise, Xavi refused to honor my wishes and stated that she would not allow me to transfer the coordinating $$ to my flowers. I said that she breached her contract by not honoring what she agreed to provide for services .... she of course did not agree.
We then had an appointment at the our venue that we changed to (now locally) and Amanda called at 6pm (our appointment was at 6) and said she would be a bit late...she was an 1.5 hours away!!! needless to say, I no longer felt comfortable with their company servicing my event, and demanded a refund for their negelgence...I did not receive one....and am now going to pursue small claims court. I went on the BBB and saw that they had a D rating at the time that I looked. If only I had known!
I am so glad that I changed florists for the actual day and went with Janelle from Sweet Flowers. Janelle knew what was going on, and saw me in tears everytime we met. She could not have been more wonderful, producing the most fantastic, unique, original pieces (which is what I had asked for with Xavi and I got small glass cylinders with flowers)...and Sweet Flowers truley saved the day.
