Located in the historic Old Town portion of Quebec City, this boutique hotel hosts a diverse group of guests from all around the world. Very reasonably priced rooms, friendly English speaking staff and parking (which is hard to come by in this area), the Hotel Acadia is a perfectly romantic get-a-way, we absolutely loved it and it was the highlight of our honeymoon.

We picked this venue for many reasons, one because they are closed on Sundays and we wanted a Sunday afternoon wedding. They agreed to hold our wedding of 150 people and gave us meal options during an informal meeting. The space has two levels and they let us occupy the entire venue, which was really cool of them. The food was dynamite, and everyone commented on how good it was. The only issue I have is the bar tab was outrageous despite us having negotiated prior to the event date. The person we initially met with was no longer with the venue and it wasn’t translated the day of and they never apologized for the increase. Thus, we went over our budget because we did an open-bar. I suggest getting a contract for anyone having their wedding there as they do a great job with the food, just be careful with the bar tab.

AWESOME funk/Motown band we first saw at Club Bart in Ferndale. They agreed to perform at our wedding and EVERYONE was on the floor. They learned our wedding song and took requests throughout the entire day. They are comprised of former Motown studio musicians and are the house band at Club Bart. VERY reasonable price, highly recommend. We later saw them back up at Club Bart and they are now excited about playing more weddings…


 Aly is a multi media photographer I met through a friend. She has a wonderful, photojournalistic style and did our photos in both black and white and color. Decent turn-around time, and added a CD rom of all images. She was a little pricey than I would have liked but we knew the photos would turn out great. I highly recommend her for any type of photo project.

Randy is the most theatrical officiant we could have ever imagined…librarian by day and ordained minister in his spare time. We wanted a non-religious ceremony and he delivered a beautiful and compelling service. Everyone commented on what a great job he did. He also created a setting with candles and our vows which he laid out for our guests to read after the ceremony, it was truly special.

My husband wore a formal suit, not a tuxedo so he didn’t want to go to a regular tuxedo retailer. He heard Macy’s had a great selection of suits and thus, went after work one night. He came home really pleased with the service and price he received as well as the alterations department. He looked stunning and everyone commented on his Calvin Klein suit.


 Since I was about ten years old, I always wanted my grandmother’s ring. Since her passing and from the time we got engaged, this was going to be my ring. However, we needed to have the band worked on and wanted to make sure we went to a trusted jeweler. They were really busy when we first went in, but once served, the service was good. I feel they are a little pricey, but platinum is an expensive metal and I love my ring. My husband’s ring turned out perfect, we are both really happy.

Guest Lodging: Situated just north of downtown and next to the DIA, the Inns on Ferry Street are a real Detroit treasure. We wanted our guests to experience Detroit in a different way. These are historic homes, converted into three dynamic hotels with great weekend packages which include tickets to the DIA which is just two blocks away. The rooms are incredible, all restored keeping their 1920’s integrity but with a modern twist. There is also a small carriage house for small weddings and events, it is really cool.

Ambassador Gifts has an Exceptional selection of favors. We ordered candles, matches, napkins, trinkets, etc. Sharon worked with me to figure out exactly what we wanted and took into consideration our budget which was a relief, as in, she didn’t try to up sell us. All items came very quickly, items were described exactly as promised and Sharon called several times to give us updates or issues, very professional and I highly recommend.

Like the favors, awesome selection of invitations as well, from all prices and all style types. Delivered sooner than expected and delivery charges were extremely low. Very good service, highly recommend.

Emily, a professional dance instructor taught us a special waltz for our wedding. We met with her three times before the wedding date and everyone loved our dance. Price was just $150.00 for all visits, well worth it! She rents studio space in Royal Oak and I believe in Windsor, Ontario. She is also a stunt actor and teaches acting.
