Favazza's Rose of the Hill is absolutely gorgeous. It is very classy and I hear the food is fantastic. It is a great set-up where there is a cocktail area and a specific reception area but all in the same building. The outside isn't the most beautiful but the inside makes up for it. I'm worried about parking a bit as they fit over 400 people but I didn't see that many parking spots.
They don't work with you too well on adjusting the package to meet your budget, but they did try. Their extra hour open bar charge is $4 which is very well priced compared to other reception sites.

They developed a package that was "just enough" to suite my budget and my needs. They are offering me the biggest room they have (fits 550) so that we're comfortable. They have a huge hallway in front of my room so that the guests can enjoy a cocktail reception before entering the actual ballroom. There are beautiful guest suites at reasonable prices. There is a balcony on the same floor where guests can go for fresh air. The room we'll be in does not have the windows which is the only disappointing thing. But the room with the gorgeous downtown view only holds 280. The catering sales manager is outstanding to work with! The entire setup of the hotel is very impressive.

$70/person was the cheapest I could get. Their menus start out rather high so I asked them to take a look to see if they could get it cheaper for me. It took them over a week to get back to me (and 2 more of my phone calls later) I received the updated "offer" by email. They followed up the next morning to ensure I received the email and to see if there was anything they could answer. I told them that I had specifically said that i wanted a 5 hour bar but from what I could see the way they cut my package was by cutting the bar from 4 hours to 1.5 hours and cutting out the wine service. Exactly the opposite of what I was hoping! When I spoke with them, I let them know and they weren't able to help anymore. They were very kind and it seems they tried to be helpful, but were not. I have been to a wedding there before and it was beautiful. I have heard great things about them but was not impressed with their skills on developing a package to fit my personal budget (which is not the lowest budget ever!)

For a bridal shower/bachelorette party, we went to the Crown Valley Wineries in Ste Genevieve, MO. We rented an entire house to stay at. We were allowed to bring food in, already cooked, and alcohol. The house was clean and nice. We had 16 people stay the night, all comfortably. We went to the wineries that afternoon and rented the top room. We were able to decorate it however we wanted and it was closed off just to us. There were good sample deals and the waitresses were very kind. We were allowed to bring in outside food and cake to the wineries as well. Everything was perfect! Just the right thing for a relaxing bachelorette party.

For a 350 guest wedding, it's about $18,500. There are only 120 parking spots in their lot. Where do the rest of the guests park? Well, I won't know because I won't be going there. THe location is confusing and there are not good places to park even close to the reception site. The bathrooms are behind the dance floor which means that people have to say excuse me to go to the bathroom. Not to mention that the band or DJ has to stand right next to the ladies' bathroom. There is only one buffet line which means that it'll take 45 minutes for 350 people to get their food, not to mention eat their food.
On the upside, the people are great to work with. It's a beautiful building. I wanted to sign up immediately, but once I started thinking about it more and more, I realized the downsides.

It'll be about $47 a person with chair covers, a chocolate fountain, the "good" buffet, and tax and grat. I only have two concerns with this beautiful place:
1. The room is shaped like an "L" with the dance floor being the small part of the "L." Therefore, people can't sit down and watch the dancing.
2. They put rectangular tables on the side walls if you have more than 150 people attend the reception. I just don't think rectangular tables look as classy as circular.
Now what is good about the place is:
1. The bathrooms are huge and fancy. Even though you might have to share them with another wedding party, they're great.
2. There is plenty of parking
3. They are willing to work with you for anything. Great people.
