I found my bridesmaids dresses at Pebbles Bridal in Woodland Hills. I had looked at bridesmaids dresses for months, but I had never seen the designer (Saison Blanche) I ended up choosing at any of them. The staff at Pebbles let us peruse the dresses, with no pressure at all. We could try on as many as we liked. Once I chose a dress, they were very helpful in getting all the sizing information from my girls so I didn't have to.
I did have one pregnant bridesmaid that had the baby about 3 months before the wedding. They WAY over estimated her size when they ordered it, so she ended up spending more on alterations than she did on the original dress. So, if you have a pregnant bridesmaid, be sure to take her measurements early on in the pregnancy (maybe around 3 or 4 months), even before you know the specifics about the dress. It will save a lot of headache and potentially a lot of money in alterations.

I can't believe how little I paid for such amazing flowers! We used roses almost exclusively in our wedding arrangements, centerpieces, bouquets, and boutonnieres, and was blown away that the cost was so low. But, what was better than the low cost was the actual flowers themselves. Suzie doesn't skimp on quality! The flowers were breathtaking and working with Suzie was a breeze. She was so creative in how she was able to incorporate the flowers from the ceremony site into the reception room. And, when we gave away our centerpieces, people were clamoring to take home the 2-foot tall pilsners filled with 2 dozen roses. They were breath-taking, and the best part was that people were able to easily talk to the person sitting across from them. The flowers really made the day as beautiful as it could possibly be.
WOW! To call this guy a videographer is almost an insult. This guy is an AMAZING cinematographer! When we first met with Joth, we met him at his home where we talked and watched videos of his work for about 2 hours. We could tell instantly that this guy has quite a passion for his work. He would point out aspects of each video that he could do for us, and then we'd get engrossed in his cinematography. His work really grabs the emotions of the watcher and doesn't let go until the last frame. His work is truly a work of art, and you can tell he takes a tremendous amount of joy in creating a cinematic event instead of just a wedding video.
At the actual wedding, Joth and his crew were stealthy - I hardly noticed them the entire event. But, he caught every moment. One of my favorite things about Joth is that about a week after the wedding we got a wedding "Trailer". This minute-long movie-trailer showcases some of the highlights of our wedding (complete with appropriate music) to whet our appetite for the final product, which takes about 3-4 more months to complete. I'm looking forward to getting the final product any day now.

Andy did a fabulous job! He and his partner Shannon made us all feel so relaxed and at ease. What he does do well is make a location have a character in a picture. We went to the Griffith Observatory for our engagement shoot and the way he used the architecture of the building in our shots was so artistic and beautiful. At the wedding, they did a great job of catching those moments that you don't think anyone sees. However, what he doesn't like doing the traditional set-up group shots. These are my least favorite from the event because there isn't a lot of attention to detail. But, overall we have over 1800 shots to choose from to create our wedding album. And, one of my favorite parts of working with Andy is that our wedding album won't be one of those 3-inch thick books that you're afraid to touch. He creates a coffee table book to showcase your wedding! I can't wait to see the end result!

I was thrilled with my hair and make-up from Nicole at ArchiTexture. She did a trial run on my hair to practice with different curling irons, hairsprays, and makeup combinations. It took her an entire hour just to set my hair in curls. Because of her meticulous efforts, my bone-straight hair held a curl for the entire day and then some! Nicole also did my mom's hair and she was pleased with the results.
I wish Nicole had done all the hair and make-up that day. My mom and sister also wanted their hair and make-up done, along with my mother-in-law. Since my mom and sister have hair and skin similar to mine, Nicole knew what she would have been working with. However, ArchiTexture sent along another girl to help out (sorry, I can't remember her name). She did my mom's make-up and my sister's hair. She made my mom look about 10 years older than she is, and the overall look reminded me of Elvira. That's not the way my mom wants to be remembered in my wedding photos. Luckily, Nicole was there to save the day. She made a few changes and my mom was back to looking like my mom again.
Then, there was the fiasco with my sister's hair. This other girl curled my sister's very long and incredibly fine hair with 2-inch curlers. She only used about 6 curlers for her entire head and her hair was set in about 10 minutes. When she finally took out the curlers, it was no surprise to my sister, my mom, myself, and even Nicole, that the curls only held for about 10 minutes, even with the half a can of hair spray this girl used. When we complained, she re-curled my sister's hair, but did the EXACT same process. It was not a surprise to any of us when her hair came out looking EXACTLY the same way. In the end, my sister spend over $100 to have her hair look like a messy tangle of hair with a few bobby pins to pull back the sides. There was not enough time before the wedding for Nicole to correct this mistake, as a proper job would have entailed as much preparation as my hair.
Jeff and Jennifer are an amazing team! They worked together to make our day amazing! We had very specific music selections for certain parts of our ceremony and reception and they made it happen flawlessly! They were professional, and the price was very reasonable. Jeff made sure the music flowed throughout the evening and Jennifer made sure everyone was at the appropriate location when each event took place throughout the evening. It was so nice to know that we were in such good hands for the entire event. Their planning before the ceremony helped us relax and know that they had it all in order.

This place won't disappoint! The reception site has a large room with a built-in wooden bar, and a beautiful fireplace at either end. The room is spacious enough for people to move around easily and small enough for everyone to feel like they are part of the action. The location for the wedding cake makes it easy to see the entire cake from anywhere, and when it came time to cut the cake, the ENTIRE guest list could easily watch.
The food was by far THE BEST WEDDING FOOD I'VE EVER HAD!!! I thought it might just be the marital bliss talking but everyone that talked to us about their meal said the exact same thing. We even had multiple people take pictures of their food because the presentation was so beautiful.
But, the best part was the service! The wait staff perform what is called "synchronized service." Each table had about 10 people, so when it was time for that table to be served - whether it was the salad or the main course - 5 servers would circle the table and stand between two guests. Then the head server would motion and every server would SIMULTANEOUSLY serve the woman (or child), from the left side. The plates were always placed in exactly the same manner - for example, the salad had a sliced strawberry on top, and each plate was placed so that the stemmed part of the strawberry was toward the center of the table. Then, after the women were served, the wait staff moved in-synch to serve the men. Again, once the wait-staff were all in place, the head waiter would motion to serve all the men. It was AMAZING to watch! The entire location was next-level and we didn't pay any more for the amazing service than we would have at a country club closer to Los Angeles. We can't say enough good things about this location!

You can't beat Spanish Hills Country Club for a location for a breath-taking wedding. We are from the Los Angeles area and were thrilled to find this country club, almost exactly 1 hour from our home.
Our wedding took place on a Sunday afternoon in July. The temperature was a perfect 75 degrees (Fahrenheit), as compared to the 100+ temps we would have had for a similar wedding in the Los Angeles area. The location was filled with amazing scenery that made for picture-perfect backdrops - lush green plants and landscapes, beautiful water fountains, and some amazing views.
The ceremony itself took place on the steps outside the reception room, so each member of the bridal party was on a descending step while myself, my groom, and the officiant were centered at the platform at the top. Every guest had a great view of all of us, and we were all mic-ed so you could hear the entire ceremony. The aisle is nice and wide. The staff was incredibly helpful. We couldn't have found a better place for the price.

How many weddings have you been to where the wedding cake was so delicious that people were asking for seconds and thirds? Well, our wedding cake was just that cake! La Starr & Co. worked with my husband and I to create a wedding cake that was not only beautiful but it tasted amazing too. We had a chocolate cake with mint-chocolate chip filling. The filling tasted JUST like the ice cream from Baskin Robbins, which just happens to be one of our favorite ice cream flavors. The chocolate cake was moist and the perfect ending to our amazing wedding dinner.
La Starr is a little pricey, but I guarantee your guests will be talking about how delicious the cake is and you will get to enjoy the left overs after the wedding is over.

My wedding was AMAZING because of Invitations by Alecia! My invitations were custom-made, with hand-made paper. My (now) husband and I were so excited by the beauty, elegance, and grace of each personalized invitation, that we wanted our guests to feel as if they were receiving a gift, so we spent a little extra money and splurged. Each invitation was sent out to our guests in a box! Our guests couldn't stop talking about how unique and beautiful our invitations were. We even had guests after the ceremony tell us that they couldn't part with the invitation because it was such a piece of art!
We were so thrilled with the invitations that we went back to Alecia for all the finishing touches for our wedding. She did name cards for each attendee, table numbers, favor cards, and programs. She even created a custom Thank You card that matched the theme we had created with the invitation. Every new project we gave Alecia was completed in a timely manner and the price was reasonable for the unbelievable products that we received.
