So doing your favors this way may cost a little more but they are more personal so I liked the idea. We used coupons to buy mini picture frames that were also magnets. My MOH is going to take our engagement pictures and we are going to pic one of those as the picture for the frame. Then we are going to print our names and wedding date on a clear label and place the label on the picture frame. Not everyone gets a favor its more like each group/couple gets a favor as a couple that lives together does not need 2 picture frames of us. So they cost a little more but you don't need as many, and your guests have a special momento of your wedding beside the usual candle or candy favors.

We had our mind made up about which invitation we wanted and although getting to the shop when the right staff member was available proved to be our biggest obsticle, once we had her she was great. OUr original thoughts were goiong to cost us close to $400 or $500 and our final cost was $166.88 which included 100 invites and envelopes, 100 rsvp cards and envelopes, and return address labels so that we didn't have to right our address many many times. I would recommend this place to everyone that lives in the Port Alberni, BC, Canada area

My ceremony site is a public beach. No need to get a license to get married on the beach as it is Public. You just have to be ok with people that are not invited to your wedding being there and plus its outside so be prepared for every type of weather

After a frusterating day I finally found my bridesmaid dress, yay! and the visit at the shop went pretty good. My MOH had her measurements taken and we set things up so that my other bridesmaids could call in their measurements and/or stop by and get their measurements taken. Well my pregnat bridesmaid went in to get her measurements taken and the shop didn't have the dress style code written in my file, I gave them my phoine number but they didn't write it down so they could get a hold of me, thankfully my bridesmaid was able to get a hold of my MOH and she finally got her measurements taken. What an ordeal. Then I call the shop later that same day to talk to them about how difficult they were making things and at the end they said that they would get their manager to call me monday morning, and guess what, she didn't call. So I am jus tnot having any luck with bridal stores calling me back!

This is the flower shop in Ucluelet. At first Sandra was great, very excited about the wedding and doing the flowers. I was not too sure of what I wanted other than how I wanted the flowers tied. She was a little helpful but not as much as I would have liked, however neither were other flower shops I went to. I went back about 3 weeks ago now and the visit was good, she said she would write up a quote for what we had talked about and email it to me right away. I still don't have the quote:(

This bridal Show was held in Nanaimo. It was alright, I went with my mom and sister (MOH) and my sister ended up winning a door prize which was cool. There were some good ideas floating around, Honeymoon registry where you purchase your basic honeymoon and then register for upgrades and your guests can puchase the upgrades for you. Spas and different ideas for stagettes. examples of flowers. The actual show of dresses was fairly short. The dresses were beautiful and oh my the litle girl was fabulous but i would have like to see more bridesmaid dresses as I had not found one for my bridesmaids yet and there was only like 1 bridesmaid dress modled.

This pastor is really down to earth. My fiance was worried about having a pastor because he had herd spme really bad stories about them, but it was really important to me so he came with me to meet Pastor Kevin. Turns out my fiance really likes him and ended up being the one pushing for the next meeting, you know the one where you start your pre-marital discussions. We both fell very comfortable with the Pastor and he has some great ideas for the wedding itself that we are seriouly considering. For example many brides and or grooms are very shake the day of the weding and may have a hard time signing the wedding certificate. So our pastor suggested, since he has had this happen before, that we sign it at the rehersal the day before. This, he assures me, does not mean you are married a day early as it is not official until he signs and dates it. Then on the wedding day you can just sit there and pretend to sign the certificate for picture purposes.

We are having the reception in Ucluelet, BC, Canada and Black Rock is a new Resort there. We started talking withthe chef well before the resort was even open and he was awesome. the meal was pretty much planned before the resort opened and before we signed the contract to have our reception there. I will update on service and food after the wedding:)

My initial visit to Shades of White was excellent. Not knowing exactly what kind of dress I wanted it was a bit difficult but the sales lady was great and we found the perfect dress in like 3 tries. I even found a possible bridesmaid dress and got the dress codes so I could think about it and show my bridesmaids. However a little while later when I called back for the bridesmaid dress code (because I had lost it) they would not give it to me. I will have a 9 month pregnant bridesmaid and I wanted to look at the dress again before making my decision. We were going to make a trip to Victoria to try the dress on but I was informed they no longer had it in stock and so asked for the code to look at it on the internet and they would give it to me, even though they had in the past already. Then I was told that the manager would call me back to talk to me about if this dress would work for a pregnant lady and its been over a month and I have received no call back, very dissapointing:( My dress fitting there was pretty good, a little hard to understand the lady but in the end a good experience and on the same trip i was able to get the dress code for the bridesmaid dress..with a little convincing. Overall a great experience!!

so far he has been great. He runs his photography out of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island and we live about an hour away. to meet with him for the first time he fit us in to his schedule when he was here in town instead of us having to drive to Nanaimo to meet. His work looks awesomem, he brought with him examples of all his books that he can create for you. Will update you on after the wedding:)
