I told my wife that we didn’t have a wedding budget for a limousine, and that it was senseless to spend a couple of hundred dollars on a car ride that would only last ten minutes between the park and reception hall. The big obvious secret was that I was getting her a limousine, for her and her friends. I didn’t get to see her reaction in person, but she was thrilled to see me at the park. The guys at Westwind are normal, down to earth people, and they have a great business. I was happy that they were the first people I was in contact with.
My wife did all the work for this site, so I will give it 5 stars! I think the idea of the website if cute, and we were able to ask friends to forward the link to people that we may have forgotten or that may be interested in our union. We got back lots of emails and some really sweet emails from people who were happy about our engagement. People got to see pictures of us as a couple, and our apartment and details on how we met and stuff like that. The website was good about giving information. I am sure people are now announcing their weddings through twitter.

This was a great family company to work with. The woman I spoke with on the phone was very professional, and she was able to answer all my questions right away. We placed an order for vases and other items that we would need during our wedding reception. I liked that the company had a huge selection of items to choose from, and that they had really reasonable prices. They deliver and drop off, or you can do pick up. The schedule is to pick up on a Friday and drop off on a Sunday, but because we were making the centerpieces with vases that we were renting from them, we paid extra and picked up our items on Thursday.

We had a picnic for a rehearsal dinner, only because the ceremony was going to take place in a park, and we wanted to stay and eat at the park afterwards. My brother decided that he would pay for lunch for everyone, and ordered 50 box lunches from Dorothy Lane Market. There were three options, including five that were vegetarian for our vegetarian friends. Even though we were only 30 or so people in the park, we ate all the lunch boxes. The food was fresh and tasty, it was a nice mix of a sandwich and a cookie, and a really good salad. I ate two, and I think my wife, who is normally not that big of an eater, ate 1 and a half boxes. The food was fresh and tasty, perfect for a summer lunch, and I was happy that my brother bought it.

We were going to have a somewhat informal ceremony setting, and I told my wife and family from the start that I did not want to wear a rented suit, or a tuxedo. We came to a happy agreement that I could wear nice pants and shirt, and a jacket if I felt like it. My sister –in-law brought me to Banana Republic, and I thought it was the best store ever! It was expensive, but it was easy to chose things because the selection wasn’t that overwhelming. Also, the jackets at Banana Republic really fit me well, and the pants fit well, too. I really liked everything that I chose. I was shocked to spend so much, but I went back the week before the wedding and spend another $70 on a tie and socks because I really liked what they had in stock.

Choosing a ring was a very long and time consuming process. When I first went, it was by myself to check out the prices of the rings and the styles of the rings. I was happy to see that many nice looking rings fell into my estimate of what a ring should cost. I wanted to spend about $3000 on a ring, and in the end, with the help of my bride and the salesperson, I bought a set, which included the wedding band and the engagement ring. I visited the store many times, and I loved that they were able to listen to my questions and give me straight answers.

I think the people who work at Mulberry Tree are very competent people who know what they are doing. The suggestions they made to my wife and I were regarding the type of information we wanted to give to our guests, and then they showed us samples of what other people had done. It was very informative, and I think the cards are pretty nice, too.

My wife and I put our actual honeymoon for Spain on hiatus for a year because of a family situation that made us want to stay close to home. Luckily the tour group that we were with held our deposit but said that they would place it towards a future trip. For a week, we then stayed at the Inn Port Guesthouse. We both thought that the inn made a fun and charming last-minute replacement to Spain. Also, we were so tired from all the wedding planning that we just slept for the first two days. Finally, I have to mention that the rooms are themed, and we stayed in the Maui themed room. Cute, and the owners are wonderful, but I am still looking forward to going to Spain.

This was a great hotel! This was where my wife and I stayed for our wedding night, and this is also where our guests stayed. The first time we stayed at a Doubletree hotel was in NYC, and we loved the customer service there. The same thing was true in Dayton. The staff helps with your bag, they are great about making sure the check-in is easy and fast, and they all look professional and clean cut. It adds to the atmosphere of the hotel when the staff looks professional and clean cut. Also, the rooms were great. We had a king size bed and it was great.

We have a friend who is a florist, so she was able to guide us on how to make beautiful centerpieces. We rented vases from a party rental location, and then got huge orders of flowers which were picked up two days before the wedding. Our friend, along with us and a few extra family members, arranged over 20 centerpieces from scratch and they looked great. All we needed was the vases, which were still cheaper to rent than buy, and flowers. I wouldn’t do this on my own, and the only reason why we did this was because we had help from a professional florist who didn’t charge for her service. Otherwise, we wouldn’t know what to order or how much to order. And we got a 10% discount at Siebenthaler's Garden Center because we said we were getting married and we were making our own centerpieces.
