I absolutely adore April. She is such a kind, caring and compassionate person. My fiancé and I are thrilled that we are fortunate enough to have her as our wedding photographer.
We actually first met April at one of our friend's weddings and were both impressed with how attentive and "all over the place" she was. Seriously, if there was a special moment happening she was for sure there capturing it. It was this attention to all the details that led us to contacting her.
As soon as we met with her that first time, we knew she was the photographer for us. We enjoyed shooting our engagement session and were very impressed with the results- there were literally hundreds of wonderful shots! April's assistant Amanda, who is just as wonderful and talented, came and photographed our Engagement Party. We were so thrilled with the shots from the party we made sure to have April bring Amanda as the second shooter for our wedding.
Recently, we had an unexpected change of events (our wedding/reception location is closing) and we had to find a new venue. We knew that we wanted April as our photographer so when we had to change our wedding date to book at new location, we chose a date that April was available. She's that wonderful!
April has been such a delight to work with and I can not wait to have her capture our wedding day...I know I am in good hands(and view finder) with her!
Booked the Courtyard of City Hall for my June 2010 wedding ceremony! Thrilled with the location, and all the wonderful "photo ops" that can be taken around the property... seriously, there is no shortage of backdrops! Plus, when you rent the Courtyard you also get the Rotunda (and vise versa). We are planning to have an outdoor ceremony in the courtyard by the water fountain, however, in the event of bad weather the ceremony can be moved to the spectacular rotunda area which is just as stunning-- can't go wrong with having the ceremony in either location. I love having a rain plan that's going to be no additional cost or hassle.
It's a city location so there are of course numerous permits and fees associated with it, but, the process is easy enough... just a little tedious. Make sure you stay organized with it all ;) and it fairly simple, the people are also extremely helpful and patient. You do have to bring everything on your own, which my fiancé and I like. We were able to negotiate with our vendors to set up both here, and the Romanesque Room, which is right around the corner and where our reception will be.
I can not wait for out special day, and love that the GORGOUS City Hall building is viewable from numerous parts of the city... a visible reminder of our special day for the years to come!
This WAS my dream location for my wedding, until they CANCELLED my wedding, with 6 months to go. I can not believe that this has happened! My fiance and I booked this venue in February 2009 for a May 2010 wedding. Apparently, there is an issue with the venue obtaining the necessary use permits from the city of Pasadena, so as a result, they are canceling all events and weddings past March 2010. We too received the same letter that Willow411 commented about, and also felt confident that things would be worked out. According to Sylvia Noland, representing the Ambassador Campus, there was to be a new management company named in which we all would be contacted to resign our contracts with the management company. This Monday (11/9/09), we received a generic mass e-mail stating that our events were being cancelled, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Seriously, we were lead to believe one thing, and were absolutely shocked to be informed that our event was cancelled. Now, it's less than 6 months to our wedding date; all vendors booked, travel arrangements made, etc. and we are out of a venue.
It's such a shame that this wonderful venue will no longer be available for events and weddings.
