This reception site was wonderful. They were beyond professional. They worked with us every step of the way. When we couldn’t decide between two types of cake flavors, they gave us both, each tier was a different flavor. They also included favors, which were miniature wine bottles with personalized labels.

Our cocktail hour had everything from plantains to egg rolls to a watermelon with our names carved in it. It was very reflective of both NY and our social circle! It’s right off the Triboro Bridge and had onsite parking making it very convenient for our guests. I recommend them to any bride willing to have their reception outside of Manhattan. Their prices are excellent and their rooms are beautiful. The even have an onsite chapel and photo room.

The people associated with this church truly care about those who enter their doors. To get married at Riverside we had to meet with the minister for a pre-marriage counseling session. It wasn’t preachy or judgmental. It was an honest session about marriage and we felt better when we left than we did when we went it.

I drove all the way to NJ to have my hair and makeup trial by Ms. LoConte. She was worth the trip. I brought her several pictures of half-up hair do’s and she worked with me to get the style that matched both the elegance of the day and my fun personality. I truly never felt so beautiful. She kept my makeup light enough that I didn’t feel fake but done enough that my photos looked perfect. That was a difficult feat given I had some acne issues that day. You would never know it from the photos. I felt both beautiful and natural.
 


It took me about 8 months to find my perfect invitations. I wanted something unique but not over the top. They had the perfect invitations. There were glossy and square but the print was in such a manor that you had to turn it on its corner to read it giving it the appearance of a diamond. I got to choose the font color and size. They responded quickly to my changes and faxed me proofs before printing. Their stationary was more beautiful than the images on my computer screen had led me to believe. I was proud to send these out and kept several for myself as mementos. 
 


The women who helped me try on dresses and make my final selection were wonderful. They were patient, professional and genuinely interested in helping me find my perfect dress. They helped me deal with my picky bridesmaids and weepy mother.

The reason I did not give this shop a 5 was because of the seamstress. I wanted two bustle buttons but she gave me one. I wanted an extra one to hold my train incase it fell the button broke. Wouldn’t you know it, my new husband stepped on my dress and broke the button. I had to carry my train for about 30 minutes. Luckily I had a separate dress for the reception but it could have been a nightmare if I didn’t.
