LoveBirds offered an additional form of entertainment for my wedding guest. I decided to release doves because I had an outdoor wedding in a garden that was decorated with beautiful flowers and exotic plants, what better way to accent that setting than with a picturesque dove release. The owner narrates a story of how doves are mates for life and how they are truly dedicated to each other throughout the relationship which is an example for us follow. The story was not only education but it was also a love story which was fitting for the ceremony. The guests were delighted and the birds were beautiful. The owner was punctual, well dressed, and he was more than willing to answer any questions that the guest had about the birds. I would definitely recommend this service to other couples.

After an exhaustive day following my wedding, my primary goal was to unwind and get some much needed rest and relaxation. When we arrived, the room was ready and check in was only a few minutes. The room was simple, nice, and clean. I settled in and was totally relaxed and asleep within an hour or two of arriving. The linens were clean comfortable. My husband ventured to the bar later and was satisfied with the services available. The Wynfrey hosts a cigar bar/men’s lounge that was to his liking. The Wynfrey has excellent food and a great Sunday brunch.

Nathifa Dance Company offered ethnic entertainment for my wedding guest while my wedding party completed the remaining wedding photographs. The dance group offered a West African dance routine that began immediately following the wedding and continued by escorting guest to the reception hall. The group offered authentic African drummers with bright colored traditional African attire. The wedding guests were pleasantly surprised by the non-traditional entertainment but they loved the performance and were excited to join the group following the finale to learn a few dance steps. The routine got many of the guests out of their seats and their enjoyment was evident by the smiles that were on their faces. I would definitely recommend Nathifa Dance Company for anyone who isn’t afraid to add some spice to their reception entertainment.

I selected the group Tekneek after searching months for an appropriate band. The jazz musicians of Tekneek offered a smooth, relaxing melody of music which offered entertainment for guest while the wedding party was being photographed between the ceremony and the reception. In addition to Tekneek I booked other acts, but the transition between the groups was discreet. Guests were entertained by the music as they took advantage of the socializing opportunity and while they enjoyed their meal. Tekneek arrived on time and set up promptly, and the fee was appropriate. I am very satisfied with the performance and the overall service that I received from the group.

I chose Olexa Catering to bake my wedding cake because Olexa offered elegant, unique cakes that were not only visually appealing but also delicious. Olexa offers gourmet cakes that are baked with real butter and other premium ingredients that set their product above the other cakes that I sampled. Olexa set up an appointment with me to review several cake styles, flavors, icings, fillings, etc. I was able to sample my selection before ordering it. Olexa offered to customize the cake with my wedding colors or other changes that I wanted. The service was excellent; on my wedding day I was not disappointed with the taste or set up of my wedding and groom cakes. I would advise future brides to hire or make sure that you have a knowledgeable cake cutter at the ceremony.

Claudia McNeely was excellent, I was able to plan almost every aspect of my wedding but Claudia was there to complete the tasks that I could not. She arrived at the wedding and reception location before the wedding to ensure that all vendors were paid and were setting up on time. Claudia kept the groom and I informed of all the happenings taking place at the gardens before we arrived. She assisted wedding guest to the appropriate area, kept the groom and I from seeing each other before the wedding, which was difficult because we did party pictures prior to the ceremony. Claudia began the wedding promptly at the designated time which kept the wedding on the proper time line. I was more than satisfied with the performance of Mrs. McNeely during my wedding and reception ceremonies. Her husband also assisted with various tasks during the wedding so it was like getting 2 employees for the price of one.

Huff Rental offered the best rates for the specific items I needed for my ceremony and reception. The items that I rented included 100+white wedding chairs and a travel bar. Huff Rental offered delivery and pickup which eliminated another worry on our big day. The equipment was delivered in plenty of time for set up prior to the ceremony and picked up promptly after the ceremony. The equipment was in good shape, the chairs were clean and sturdy. The bar was of a suitable size to hold the beverages that were being served. I received all refundable monies and I was very satisfied with the transaction.

The service and the product that I received from Jasmine Flowerwork were amazing. I received personal service that I deserved at a reasonable price. I was given everything that I asked for with minimal compromise. They worked with me tirelessly to create the optimal setting for the wedding and the reception. Since my wedding took place outside I only needed certain accents for the ceremony. I did not want the traditional wedding arch and kneeling bench, so my consultant recommended that I use the set up that was provided me at the gardens but to use large topiaries to cover up any eyesores that were in the garden. Then she suggested that after the ceremony I move the topiaries to the entrance of the reception to be used as a second décor enhancement. The plan worked well, they also brought vases of water to keep the bouquets and other flowers watered so that they would not wither in the minutes before the ceremony due to the extreme heat. I loved my all of my flowers and I don’t think that I could have found a better florist for the price.

The Birmingham Botanical Gardens was an excellent site for my wedding ceremony. It is considered a city park so it is not a private or secluded locale, however the fees were very reasonable and the gardens offer beauty and nature at its peak. They have several gardens to choose from as well as meeting rooms, I chose both. I was married in the Hill Garden which is in the front of the gardens; it has a white gazebo and a fish pond in the middle of the garden, a perfect site for my ceremony. The garden is large enough to accommodate over 100 guest and the plants and flowers offer enhancements to the site that are beautiful and economical. I reserved the auditorium for my reception along with the adjacent room which offered a small patio with an additional pond and a small waterfall. The scenery was a magnificent backdrop for my wedding photos. I must caution anyone who plans to have a wedding in a garden to visit the gardens during the same time of year as your event so that you can get an accurate picture of what the grounds look like and what the temperature will be like. I would also recommend that you have a plan B just in case the weather doesn’t cooperate with your event plans.

The auditorium at the Botanical Gardens is the location that I chose for my reception. The room was ideal for my reception. It was a large airy room which had an adjacent kitchen so that the caterers had access to water, rear entry, and a place to prepare the food for set up behind the scene. The room has a sizeable stage where seating for the wedding party was set up. The party could be seen by all the guests and served their meal without being lost in the crowd of guests. I also rented the adjacent room which allowed the perfect spot for the wedding cakes and the open bar, it opened onto a beautiful patio with seating which allowed smokers or other guest who wanted to enjoy a little fresh air a place to convene. In addition the tables and chairs are included in the price for those who would like to use them. There was a choice of round tables and rectangle tables, I did not use the chairs, but it was nice to know that they were available if I had opted to use them.

Tracey Russell has been my stylist for approximately 13 years and it was only appropriate that she style my hair for my big day. She is aware of my style likes and dislikes so I took her my veil and tiara and informed her that I wanted an up do and she knew exactly how to style my hair. I didn’t feel it necessary to do a trial run, I just informed her on what I expected and as usual on my big day I was not disappointed. Mrs. Russell also styled the hair for most of my wedding party. Since the wedding took place on a Saturday evening she styled the wedding party on Friday evening and I went to the salon on Saturday morning. She also touched up any hairstyle that needed it on Saturday morning. Everyone was picture perfect and at the wedding on time.
