The Nixon Library truly is a one of a kind venue. Once we saw the venue, we knew it was the place for us. Especially since it is an incredibly expensive rental fee for a Saturday night, my only complaint would be that you don't necessarily get what you pay for prior to the wedding. Our contact at the Nixon often took a long time to respond to inquiries from either ourselves or our coordinator. It became such a source of frustration for me that I stopped interacting with this contact completely and left my husband to be the point person as I didn't have the time or patience to deal with it, especially closer to the wedding date. It just seemed a bit ridiculous that to get a response to the simplest questions was like pulling teeth.
That being said, once it was close enough to our date to be passed on to the Library's event coordinators, it was an incredibly pleasant experience. They were able to answer any questions, work well with our coordinator on the day of, help with the rehearsal, the setup was executed perfectly, etc. The day of the wedding went incredibly smoothly and ultimately, we were glad that we had chosen the Library. Our guests had a wonderful time, enjoyed the exhibits and our pictures came back fantastic.
The group was kind enough to audition for us on a Saturday morning (due to location and scheduling issues on our end). I don't think there was another vendor that we were so willing to book with before our meeting was even over. Since we were having an outdoor ceremony, a string quartet was important to me but not as much to my husband. The minute they started playing, we looked at each other and knew they were a must-have for our wedding. This quartet is so talented and you couldn't ask for a more incredibly sweet group of individuals. Listening to them play made the rest of our day and we wanted our guests to have that same experience. The day of our wedding they had everyone in awe; our flower girls and ring bearers (2-3 yrs old) sat in front of them the entire ceremony mesmerized by their playing! Margaret was incredibly helpful with song selection and made the entire process so easy. Our guests loved them and we did too!

Eddie was amazing to work with. He totally understood our vision and worked with us to achieve the look we were striving for on a budget that worked for us. We met with other florists who quoted us double the price for half the amount. By the time, we met with Eddie I was beginning to think that what we wanted wasn't going to be possible for a price we would be able to afford. He completely proved us wrong. Not only was he able to work with our budget but he was able to offer us creative suggestions to help save us money. It was an incredibly easy process from our first meeting to the day of the wedding. When we saw our centerpiece mockup, it took our breath away. It was so gorgeous and he had captured our vision. Even when we added an arch to our order last minute, Eddie assured us it would no problem. Words cannot describe how pleased we were with our florals on our wedding day. The quality and the quantity of flowers were truly amazing.
John was awesome to work with. When we first met with DJs, we didn't know what to expect and meet a ton of interesting people with cheesy or overbearing personalities. We loved that John was easy-going but incredibly professional. We left feeling that we'd be in good hands. Since he had not worked at our venue before, he met with us prior to the wedding day and was able to offer helpful suggestions on how to arrange our uplighting. The day of went flawlessly. Between him and our coordinator, we were constantly kept in the loop of what was going on without having to worry about anything. We had guests come up many times and compliment us on our music selection, to which we had to credit John since we only offered suggestions as to types of music as opposed to a list of actual songs. His uplighting and gobo services can't be beat. Would definitely recommend!
