I can not speak more of this sweet woman. She initially looked at my preowned Kenneth Pool gown in early February. She was very meticulous and really knew her stuff. She went over the details with the dress and even planned a course of action just within an hour consultation with her at her home.
To my horror, my dress was ruined by View Cleaners in Irvine, California. The owner basically denied any liability for damages and I had to take him to court. Janet was so sweet and supportive. She wrote a letter to the court and she even accompanied me to court today to serve as a witness. She really stands up for what's right and I appreciate her honesty and integrity.
I hope it turns out my way because the cleaners damaged my dress in the dry cleaning process and the owner wanted to claim that all damages happened during the wetcleaning process when I signed a waiver that they insisted that I do. Apparently today, I had told them to "do whatever it takes to get the stains out" even though they were under the train and I was wearing it again so cleaning until the point of damage makes no sense. Of course, he changed his story today in court and said that he never even dry cleaned the dress even though he had told me prior that he didn't have a bag big enough to put the dress in during the dry cleaning process and that he has one for beaded sweaters to prevent snags, but not for expensive wedding gowns.
Janet was supportive the whole way, even after the cleaner basically said that my beading was cheap and that's why the dress was damaged. I find this so hilarious for him to say this because he apparently was smart enough to go to Saks Fifth Avenue to find out the price of the dress which retailed aroudn $5,000!! I HIGHLY doubt dresses that retail for that much have cheap beading! He clearly doesn't know what he's talking about and he apparently does not know a thing about cleaning wedding gowns!
Regardless of the results from the trial, my arguments in court today wouldn't be nearly as strong without her. She's truly a great person and I would trust my dress to her any day.
Thanks Janet!

Cakes at Perfectly Sweet, are well...perfectly sweet. My fiance and I went for a cake tasting there and although our cakes were not baked specifically for our tasting, they tasted fantastic. We tried their triple berry and chocolate raspberry. We loved both because you could tell how fresh their ingredients were. They use real butter, which a lot of cheaper bakeries don't use.
We ended up choosing Let Them Eat Cake in Costa Mesa, only because Perfectly Sweet just didn't have the wow factor in designs. The woman who conducted our tasting was very sweet and told us to try many places before picking one and even made suggestions on venues nearby in the Pasadena area. She even sent the remaining halves of our mini-cakes home with us.
Overall, we were really happy with our experience there, and we are considering getting a cake from there for our engagement party.
Rossmoor for me, was a very great disappointment. It's a cake factory that serves glorified version of your average Albertson's cake. Not that Albertson's cake is bad. I just don't want to pay a wedding cake price for it.
It wasn't just the taste of the cake that put me off. It was the whole cake tasting process. They specifically called me to tell me that I HAD to have the wedding venue prior to tasting which I thought was rude. The other places that I did tasting never told me that they wouldn't see me unless I had a venue. They just needed a date to go off of.
Second, the "cake consultant" provided to us was not very friendly at all, and they gave us the smallest slices of cake to even try. She was always distracted and had to go to the "back room" to get estimates for the types of cake decorations I wanted. When it was all said and done, the cake I wanted was the same as the other places I went to. We ended up choosing to have our cake customized by Let Them Eat Cake. With a simple design, and an original one at that, we are paying the same price we would have paid for a cake at Rossmoor's.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE TO GET YOUR WEDDING DRESS CLEANED! The man who owns it is negligent. He takes no responsibility for any damage that occurs to wedding gowns. There are snags all over the dress from the beading because he carelessly threw the dress into the machine without first removing the beading or having it covered. The man told me that snags happen all the time with beading, but none of his employees managed to tell me this before I dropped my gown off. I was supposed to wear this gown for my wedding!!
I dropped off my wedding gown there after reading extensive information regarding how they care and clean wedding gowns on their website. I also was recommended to them by seamstress, Janet Brunton (who no longer will recommend View Cleaners). I figured that with all this talk about how they "care for the gown as if it were their own" and that they would only "clean the gown until they felt that it was unsafe for the fabric". It's a complete lie just to get you girls in the door to pay him the $250.00 he expected me to pay him. The man even had the balls to ask me to pay for his services!
Pierre Cinar...yes remember him girls, he is extremely unagreeable stated that it he was free of any liability because I signed a wetcleaning waiver that stated that there may be some discoloration, deformation, or shrinkage to the garment. But no where in the waiver did it state I signed off any damage. WHO WOULD??? I brought in the most beautiful Kenneth Pool gown (literally the gown of my dreams) that I had bought from a fellow bride who quite literally had the exact measurements as mine down to the bust size, and all this guy had to do was clean it. Most of all the heavy stains were BENEATH the skirt, but yet he put the whole gown in the wetcleaning machine completely messing it up. There are all these white streaks that are all over the dress. It ruined the fabric and the lady who intially accepted my dress told me that the man who did the cleaning "would know if he could do wetcleaning because he would know the fabric".
When I demanded some kind of compensation for the damage the next day, the best thing he could offer me was apparently a 10% discount on the cleaning fee...OR, get this...for him to try to clean it again to get out the white streaks. WHY THE HECK would even consider for him to clean it again if he ruined it the first time around?
I'm forced to take legal action now, and I'm totally a stress case because I have to come up with more money to buy another dress and also plan a wedding. =( I'm so upset!
UPDATE: The court decision came back and I lost. Can you believe it? In court the owner lied about the fact that all the damage happened during the wet cleaning process, which was mighty convenient for him to say because I had signed the wet cleaning waiver on their insistance that the stains would not come out. I find it really hilarious that the judge, woman no less, was so gullible enough to believe his lies and had the nerve to share her unwelcome opinion on how silly it was for me to buy a dress that was as expensive as it was. I'm sure that bias had something to do with her ill informed decision, because obviously common sense was certainly NOT employed. It didn't matter that the beading could have been easily removed by his in store seamstress...or that the beading was attached ot the lace and that came off easily, or the fact that the owner mentioned that he didn't have a bag big enough to put the dress in the dry clean machine to protect the fabric from snagging. I suppose I knew all that because I'M the expert at dry cleaning...and I guess I was just making it up to screw the owner for a sum of money which I'm sure isn't much to him than a drop in the bucket. Yes, I'm the evil consumer that wanted a business who CLEARLY didn't know how to clean wedding gowns and blamed me for the damage because of MY beading, to be held responsible for their actions.
This is PROOF that the judicial system is a load of crock and that liars and cheats can profit more out of life than people who are honest like me. I really don't know how that man sleeps at night, knowlingly lying in court just to save him money. Message to View Cleaners...YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW.
Girls, stay away! Please don't go through the same heartache and pain I've been through!
STAY AWAY FROM VIEW CLEANERS, YOU'LL REGRET IT!
