Lisa is an amazing planner/coordinator. She was on a list of recommended coordinators from our venue. We met with her and she was very kind/friendly with tons of wedding experience. She came up with very detailed time lines and was always reminding us of things and following up. From my perspective as a bride, the wedding timeline worked out great and everything went off without a hitch. Of course I'm sure there were things and mini-problems but I never knew about them which is what a good coordinator makes sure of. I don't know what I would have done w/o her help! I would recommend everyone to get a coordinator at least for the day of.

We booked Hair Dio for my wedding hair/makeup along with my bridesmaid, 2 mothers, 1 aunt and 2 cousins. They had plenty of staff working there on Saturday morning bright and early at 7 am! I never did a hair and makeup trial w/ them because I didn't want to pay the money but I also felt comfortable with them b/c I did get my hair cut there once before and had a consultation with Diane (the owner). She was great and very talented. On the day of, she did an excellent job and made me look 100 times better! You should note that it is a Korean business. Diane speaks English but her two assistants on the day of spoke primarily Korean, with some limited English.

We had our rehearsal dinner here so this review pertains only to the rehearsal dinner. The place is huge inside and has a VIP room that you can use if you book early enough. We had ours on a Friday night and the food was excellent as was the price - set price/menus to choose from for 10 course banquet. The wait staff was great even though we stayed way past closing time. We worked with Tim Lee who was great and very accommodating/flexible and substituted some dishes to add some variety.
I'm not sure that I need to write a review since Fiddlestix already has so many! I was in a bind b/c someone who I thought was going to arrange for a string quartet for our ceremony waited until the last minute and was going to hire one based on their work in non-wedding related areas. I had already contacted Margaret a while ago but had not followed up so in a panic I e-mailed her and they were still available so I went with them. Their prices are also very reasonable. They played BEAUTIFULLY, I couldn't have hoped for a better ensemble.

We had a great experience with Authentic Sound DJ services. I was contemplating hiring a band, or maybe just have a friend put some songs on ITUNES but I am so glad I went w/ a DJ. It is just so much easier to have a professional worrying about the timing of thing and making announcements. His wife Kristie is a FANTASTIC business woman. I ended up hiring this DJ service b/c she was so prompt, accommodating and on top of things. She returned e-mails right away, followed up on everything and they have an online planning page where you enter all the information that the DJ needs to make an appropriate announcements like, how you want the grand entrance to go, etc... Also their price was so much more reasonable than all the others. When it came to the day of, their choice of songs and timing were great, no glitches in the music or delays. There was actually 2 guys - the DJ and maybe his assistant who actually made the announcements, and they were very professional. One thing I was worried about was an announcer who would be too over the top or tacky, or make the bride and groom feel embarrassed, but that was not the case. They did the job professionally and respect your requests for no chicken dance music!!

Janet Chung and her staff at Robinson's Flowers did a FANTASTIC job for our wedding. My mom and I went in for a consultation and even w/ just a simple color scheme, she put together some sample arrangements that we did not even know we wanted, they were so great. Later we went back to see a sample centerpiece and it was even more gorgeous than I hoped. Her prices are also much more reasonable than other places, who charge an arm and a leg for the tall table centerpieces. They were very generous with the flowers and they were all very fresh on the day of. She and her staff arrived early and did not leave until after the start of the reception. They stayed to make sure the flowers that could be re-used/moved to the ballroom were all in place. They made us an arch for the ceremony location which was sturdy and strong against ocean breezes. The day before the wedding I went to pick up some green orchids for my hair and got to see them putting together the centerpieces, and I was so excited for the wedding day b/c I knew they were going to be spectacular. For the price, I got an awesome deal - I wanted beautiful breath taking flowers everywhere, and that's what I got. Also she decorated my boring cake w/ some amazing flowers, so all the guests ended up raving about the beautiful wedding cake.

The Hyatt did a great job for our wedding in April. We showed up to look at the place w/o an appointment and the first person we ran into was a catering manager, she did a great job showing us around, was very friendly and so accommodating. Also, we loved the place b/c the prices (minimum) were comparatively much more reasonable than the other venues we were looking for. We were looking for a place beach-side, with a view of the water, with as much all inclusive service as possible. We had gone to a lot of places in Laguna Beach - Surf and Sand, St. Regis, Ritz Carlton and for the prices, the traffic in the area, the decor, and the choice of venue/ballroom settings they offered, the Hyatt was definitely the much better deal. We signed on and worked with one catering manager, who then was promoted and we worked with another, Neda Espesor, who was great. There were no big misunderstandings/issues during the transition between catering managers. They do require you to have a wedding planner - whether day of, month of, it is up to you but you need to have one for the day. The weather was gorgeous and everything went really well. The staff were all professional and on the wedding day, all the staff even the parking attendants knew the name of the wedding, where to direct everyone, etc... The food was great and wait staff were very professional. The only issue I had with them was the difficulty in trying to get a tasting on a weekend. My wedding planner said all hotels hold tastings on weekdays b/c the kitchen is busy on weekends but we eventually were able to work this out. Hyatt had a good choice for ballrooms or places to hold the reception and 3 places for the ceremony. I would definitely recommend them.
I had a mixed experience. Our cake price was included from our venue (Hyatt in Huntington Beach), so we did not have to worry about pricing except for adding any extras such as fondant or other decorations. We had read such good reviews from Rossmoor Pastries, so I made an appointment and went. The cakes were actually very delicious and I found the sample tasting sizes to be more than enough. However our consultant was not very good, not knowledgeable at all. Every time we inquired about something - cost of adding a ribbon of fondant to each of 3 layers, she had to go back and ask, and the cost was always ridiculous. I felt very boxed in, and couldn't have any creative design without paying a ridiculous extra fee. She also did not help in any creative capacity so I ended up having to go with the most basic design and hope that flowers or something would make it look nice. On the day of, everyone loved the taste of the cake, it was very delicious. It ended up looking great b/c of my awesome florist adding beautiful flowers on it. So basically it tasted great and looked good, but the experience was not great.

Fusion Linens was on a list of recommended vendors for our wedding venue so we went with them and everything went off without any problems. They were easy to communicate with through e-mail, telephone and fax. As it got closer to the wedding and we had to add a few people here every couple of weeks, they were flexible and just let us order several more chair covers/sashes each time the numbers of guests went up. In fact, I changed my chair cover and sash colors completely and they were always fine w/ all the changes, no extra charges or anything. The cost of $4.35 per chair cover+sash was a good deal compared to some other places and they deliver/pick up. The colors were exactly what I wanted too.

I ordered my save the dates and invitations/RSVP cards from here, they were awesome. You can do everything online. Once you personalize your invitations, you can also make special requests online, then they call you to make sure of what you want and then send you a proof online. No commuting to yet ANOTHER vendor, and they act quickly and efficiently. Most everything can be personalized or done just as you like even if that option does not appear online. Best yet, the price is one of the lowest. Paper quality is fantastic, colors are true to life. They will send samples as well. Arrives quickly in the mail.
