I had a lovely bridal shower at the Olde Towne Athletic Club which hosted several guests and provided a nice selection of food. The space was pretty and quiet and staff was pleasant and hospitable. The venue has a joined room with a fire place which would make a great location for a winter shower.

The Intercontinental Hotel was a perfect venue for my bachelorette party pre-and post-festivities. Rooms were plush and elegant and very girly which added a nice touch to drinks and games before hitting the town. Comfortable beds were an added bonus upon returning from a long night out!

Our experience with American Express Travel was an excellent, and made our honeymoon planning a breeze. We received help from an experienced travel agent who prepared us from tickets to hotel reservations and trip insurance options. Knowing we had 24-hour access to American Express Travel helpline while we were out of the country gave us peace of mind so we could enjoy our vacation!

The El Dorado was a fun all-inclusive resort that offered incredible rooms and excellent food. We upgraded to a swim-up room which literally brought a swimming pool right to our back door! Our suite had a King four-poster bed, HUGE bathroom with double-jet shower, and a Jacuzzi inside the room. A sliding-glass door led out to our own private porch with lounge chairs and steps to a swimming pool which joined to a swim-up bar. The restaurants were phenomenal – some of the best food we’ve ever had – and included a variety of options from Mexican to sushi and Italian fare. Outside canopy beds line swimming pools and beaches, and beachside bars have rope swings and barstools for lounging. Mini-bars in each room are stocked daily when maid service comes, and include soft drinks and beer. We experienced construction during our stay in 2006, which made our visit a little inconvenienced. On-site concierges throughout the property are available to book dinner reservations or off-site tours.

The hotel is romantic and flirty which is everything you want on your wedding night. We booked a suite which had all the extras, including living room space with couch, spacious hallway and mini-kitchen and King bed with plush bedding and linens. A wedding night arrangement with rose petals was ordered, but never delivered. Champagne and strawberries made a nice touch upon entrance to our room.

While the hotel is nice and convenient to the Perimeter location, we felt our overall experience was sub-par. The upside is a newly renovated hotel with spacious rooms and an on-site Starbucks. We rented one of the 3-bedroom suites for 3 days of wedding festivities. The suite was very nice and lent itself to a perfect spot for our “wedding headquarters”. Free parking and rental car service was also a nice touch. The hotel offered shuttle service to Perimeter Mall, which was a nice extra for our out-of-town guests who wanted to pick-up last minute wedding necessities or shop during their down time.

The downside is that some of our room blocks were mixed up, leaving some of our guests confused at check-in. We also left gift baskets at the bell desk to deliver once guests checked in, which we found out later some of the baskets were never delivered. Overall, a good hotel for the price and location, but be stay on top of your room block and any other extras you plan with the hotel. Morning after brunch was exceptional!

We wanted a classy send-off gift/favor for our guests that also themed in with our color scheme and overall feel of our wedding. We chose individual boxes of chocolates which were displayed in a gold shimmery box and wrapped in ribbon color of our choice. Chocolates came (4)pcs to a box, and made a very elegant favor option. The sales staff was very helpful and even offered to tie all of our boxes with ribbon before coming to pick them up before the big day. A nice, fairly inexpensive favor option with a classy touch.

Darcy is a skilled cake artisan with a very approachable and relaxed bakery. Visit her shop in Roswell for a fun cake-tasting with several cake and frosting options. Bring your photos/bridal magazine clippings of what you’re looking for, and she will create your masterpiece! Yummy cake and beautiful presentation all with competitive pricing. This Quartet was an excellent choice for our outside ceremony. Initial meetings via phone were very insightful, and the company made the music selection process very easy. We received a sample CD by mail prior to choosing any of our music, and then we reviewed additional selections upon our first meeting face-to-face. The company is made up of a group of musicians who have other performances throughout the week/month. We were invited to their rehearsals prior to selecting them as a vendor to get a first-hand review of their talent. Once our music selection was decided, we received a CD of our wedding song selections, which made a nice keepsake. The company does not have an office, so be prepared to meet off-site at a private residence or coffee-shop.

VIDEO: Avalanche is event/production company offering many services. We hired them as our videographer and although our initial meeting was very promising, our follow-up meetings were less desirable. Although the company ended up doing a fabulous job on our video, we did not feel confident throughout the process that we had chosen the right vendor for this part of our wedding planning. We used this vendor for our DJ as well, and we were very pleased with them for the music. The pricing is very competitive and there are options for discounted prices if you use them for more than one service.

DJ: Avalanche was a great vendor for our wedding DJ needs! Our DJ was on time, professional and listened to what we wanted for our special day. The Avalanche online music selection process made our music planning a cinch. Select your music up to a week before your wedding day or type in your own selection if you do not find it in their database. The software allows bride/groom to input preferences for the big day – such as first dance and last dance song choices, as well as “Do Not Play” song selections. Competitive prices and fun DJ’s!
