I placed an order with Pearls Place because RK Bridal said they would charge me for a rush cut. PS--Pearls Place had the dress to me within 2 weeks! I loved it!
Very fast shipping and pleasant customer service.
We booked a private room at Cite, one of our favorite "group" restaurants in the City.
The reason we ultimately picked it is location (it is only 1 avenue up from St. Pats) and they offer a wine/champagne dinner which is perfect for setting the celebratory tone for the weekends events.
We will be doing the prix fixe wine/champagne dinner which includes appetizer, entree, dessert and all the wine/champagne you desire. If anybody has any specific questions about who to contact or pricing, just page me.
The wine/champagne was a hit and everyone enjoyed all their dishes. All our guests were raving how wonderful the food was and also that the service was excellent. We also enjoyed the fact that they printed out individual menus with "John and Angelas Rehearsal Dinner" at the top.
our only bad Vendor. We ordered this back in February, with word we would receive in March. DH kept grumbling about why Lewis and Clark could not be included on our wedding day (imagine 2 cats in St. Pats!) so while searching on the internet, I found this Vendor who made realistic sculptures. I wanted him to include Lewis and Clark, a green frog and pink bird, and to have John holding a Yankees cap behind his back. Time kept going by (with tons of emails inquiring as to the status). It gets down to crunch time (late May) and now Eric tells me that he injured his hand a few months back and had to subcontract the work out. He promises I'll have it 1 day before the wedding. Thursday comes and that night, I receive an email (he's lucky I was even checking)stating that I need to approve and he'll fed ex out to me. Well, it was too late--besides the fact that while the groom looked like my DH, I did not think the bride looked like me. I wrote him this and he insisted it did look like me and that he would fed ex it for delivery on Saturday (the day of our wedding!). Well, the wedding day comes. Ann tries to keep calling our apartment to see if has been delivered so that she can take a limo to pick it up....to no avail. When we finally returned from HM, it was finally delivered. The dink had sent it to just the street (no street number) so that is why it was not delivered on our wedding day. Not sure what we are going to do yet
Carmela does beautiful work. She did all our inner/outer envelopes and also our menus. The only somewhat negative is that I believe that she smokes so when we received the envelopes, they kind of smelled. Luckily for us, I have a huge bag of peppermint which I placed over the envelopes overnight and the smell went away.
The drivers, Donald and Gerry, were courteous, professional, and organized. They were so great that SIB asked for their business cards. There is not one negative thing I can say about them. Donald even came in to peek in the church at me before he left.

Bridesmaid Dresses. Purchased in November from RK Bridal. All BMs (were shipped to different addresses in different states) received before the end of January. We ordered Bari Jay, Styles 411 (MOH) and 638 (BMs). The beauty about these styles is that they look exactly alike in the cut and drape. The only difference is that the MOHs dress has the crystals scattered throughout the bodice whereas the BMs dresses have the stones only at the top of the bodice. Also, the MOHs dress has a corset back and the others did not. It was a way to allow my sister to be somewhat unique without interrupting the flow of the dress styles. I did not find any other companies that offered something like this.
our honeymoon to French Polynesia was wonderful! We (especially fi) did a LOT of research so if anyone is thinking about going here and has questions (we also sent quotes in to about 6-8 agencies), let me know and I am happy to share the information.
We flew Air France to Papeete (Tahiti) and took Air Tahiti to Bora Bora. We stayed 6 nights at the St. Regis Bora Bora Nui, Overwater Bungalow (there is no distinction between horizon and lagoon here).
Then, we flew (Air Tahiti) to Moorea to finish up our honeymoon with 6 nights at the Sheraton Moorea, Horizon Overwater Bungalow:
They had seemed quite comfy when I practiced wearing them before the wedding day. They were comfy at 11 am. Comfy at 2 pm. Comfy at 4 pm. Then, somehow, by 6-7 pm, my feet hurt so badly, I had to change shoes (despite the Foot Petals products my sis placed in the shoes). The next day, some areas of my feet were still numb. Ouch. I will get them dyed through the program offered at Peter Fox because they should be fine for a few hours here and there.
Karin is just so wonderful to work with. Not only is she a skilled seamstress but she is a great listener. Unfortunately, Karin will no longer be doing alterations only but she does have her own designer collection and she also does general gown design.
She offers airbrush makeup and is absolutely wonderful. Full trial applications are free and day of is $250. Bridal party prices are more reasonable, particularly if you have a number of people getting applications. She is so nice!
Maureen made me feel so special and beautiful on the wedding day. My bridesmaids and Mom felt the same way and even if we hadn't felt that way, we would have been forced with all the compliments we received from the guests (and strangers!) the whole day and night! The makeup lasted but I already knew it would from my trial application. Maureen is wonderful.
