I hired Arroyo String (trio) for my wedding. Linda was very nice and helpful, but day of, one of the trio was so off that they stopped playing and restarted a song when the wedding began. I don't know which member was off. I heard it in the dressing room waiting to make my entrance, and I especially heard it/saw it on video afterwards. I also had a few guests make comments to me at the reception because of it. I was disappointed, especially since I paid $500 for what amounted to probably less than 30 minutes worth of music. Perhaps that particular musician had a bad day, but unfortunately, it was on the biggest day of my life.

I have to thank Allen for my reception being a success! We wanted not only someone to play music but really Emcee the evening too, and we chose well! Allen is worth every penny. The dance floor was FLOODED with people! He went over every reception detail, the timeline, learned how to pronounce last names correctly. Superb at announcing grand entrance, toasts, first dance, anniversary dance, & cake cutting. My guests always knew when they should grab their camera. I can’t thank him enough for making my reception wonderful for everyone, young and old alike. I’ll be hiring him in the future for any large parties I'll have.

Takes the Cake did a fabulous job on our rehearsal dinnner cake. Hubby is a fisherman so I got him a caketopper with a bride dragging a groom away along with his fishing gear. They took the topper and created a whole lake scene including water, trees and rocks. It was fantastic and very creative. The cake was great to boot. Hubby was surprised and said "it rocked." Guests loved the whimsical decoration and the freshness. Highly recommend.

I had Pastries By Nancy do my favorite cake for my wedding reception: chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate ganache. If you're a chocoholic, this is the BEST ever! Day of, it was fresh and tasty just like always. Delivered on time, the design was great. I loved it!
I had a cake from Cakery Bakery included in our wedding package. We chose white cake with lemon mousse in a simple design. Day of, it was fresh and tasted great! Will use them again.
My wedding was on 5-5-07 and I hired Rosie as a DOC. She was great! Once I handed over all my planning, she took the ball and ran with it. She confirmed vendors and helped plan the day-of timeline. She took all my favors, programs, guest book, etc., etc., and set everything up at the reception site. She was always available via email or telephone and on the day-of she was always waiting in the wings in case I needed anything. She was a great help on my wedding day and I would definitely hire her again. I didn't worry about a thing.

One of my BM's just picked up her dress from Allison's Tailor in San Marino and she was very pleased! She needed two darts along the bustline along with shortening of the spaghetti straps. Allison's had it done in a week and cost $25. To compare, the place where we purchased the dresses (2000 Dreams in Temple City) charged my other BM nearly TRIPLE - $58 for the same exact alterations (both have larger bustlines). That is almost 1/2 the original cost of the dress.
Try Allison's!

I am so glad I found Lucy's Bridal! I had looked at several other salons and many were nice, but being petite and 5 feet tall it was difficult to decide on a dress because so many samples are in larger sizes.
I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in, as the salon was very big and organized well (as opposed to another salon I visited in TC). Mandy helped me pick out the samples and try them on...she is absolutely FANTASTIC! Mandy has been sweet, prompt, professional and courteous throughout the whole process. The price was very competitive and alterations were included in the final price. My veil was only $30. My dress came in on time with no hassles whatsoever.
I picked up my dress today and it fit perfectly and looked wonderful. The veil was hand-stitched and great. Mandy has been so great to have around that I was a little sad that this was the last day I would see her. Please, if you are looking for a dress don't purchase one without seeing Mandy first!

I had my BM's order their dresses through 2000 dreams on the recommendation of another bride (not listed on this website). The dresses came in fine, however, the attitude of Nancy has caused me to regret sending my BM's to 2000 Dreams.
Every time I came into the shop people were trying sell me something more...BM shoes, tuxes, etc. One of my BM's inquired about dyeable shoes and was given two different prices, both of them more expensive than other places we've seen. Ultimately, six 6 BM dresses were purchased from 2000 Dreams, each at over $100. Now the time has come for alterations and she has just charged one of my BM's $58 to add two darts along the bustline and to shorten the spaghetti straps about 1/4 of an inch. Full payment was expected up front, not 1/2 now and 1/2 upon completion. She is charging about 50% of what the original dress cost, which I think is too much. Another one of my BM's had a similar experience having minor alterations cost $26.
I am really not worried about the dresses coming back screwed up as 2000 Dreams has been around a long time. However, I feel that since she didn't get the business from the shoes, tuxes, etc that she is now trying to get what she can for the alterations. I would not want to have my BM's go through this experience again even if the dresses are altered well. I purchased my dress from Mandy at Lucy's Bridal in Temple City (on Las Tunas) has she has been wonderful, helpful and reasonable. My wedding dress alterations were not going to be over $30, and was put in writing on the contract. I wish I had sent my gals there instead.
It sounds like I did the same invites as the poster above. I, too, had the ribbons and little ring. Laying out the invites in Word was not so bad but remember that you may have to change the paper size for your printer as well as in Word. Also, my ink jet would sometimes take up the paper crooked (which is not the falut of the invite paper). Just remember to go slow and start early! But, they do look good once they're done. I also decided to go to PaperSource and purchase A9 blank envelopes to use for outer envelopes, since outer envelopes are not included in the kit.
