J. Crew is definitely one of my favorite stores and I love their bridesmaid dresses. The colors all complement each other so you can let your bridesmaids choose from a couple colors (I gave mine the choice of espresso or red, they chose espresso) and I just let mine choose whatever styles they want - no need to have cookie-cutter brides! It really worked great because they have such different styles and body shapes that I didn't want one of them to feel forced to wear something she doesn't like. Also, they're really helpful about re-sending sizes or sample swatches (for the florist) or anything else you need.

A little bit costly (and I heard they're raising their prices - eek!), but we knew it was the place we wanted to get married right when we walked in. The window up front is so perfect to let in natural light and show the trees (perfect for our fall-themed wedding). Site coordinator is SO friendly and helpful!

I bought a Casablanca wedding dress and it's sooo beautiful! I really think their lace designs are the most beautiful, and they incorporate just the right amount of "sparklies" (crystals, beading, etc). Also, it was AWESOME that I didn't have to buy any kind of slips to give the dress its shape.

Everyone knows this store and I've used it for years just for various craft projects, but it's really worthwhile to just walk around and see what they have that you might be able to use for your wedding. HUGE money-saver!

Really helpful and BEAUTIFUL work! She's willing to work in almost any budget you have and is helpful in choosing gorgeous bouquets using blooms that are in season. HIGHLY recommend her!

My fiance got my engagement ring from DeVries ($5000) and they were so helpful! He came in with a photo of what he wanted and even though they don't normally carry a band that style, they ordered it for him and then helped him choose a diamond to fit it. I love it! The ring was a total surprise for me and I couldn't have been happier with the style and quality! We're getting our wedding rings there too (budgeted $1000). Don't be mislead by our price tags - we set aside a lot for rings because they were the most important part of the wedding for us. Great service and great deals!

Barbara Skar has done my hair for years and is like a close friend by now, so of course I asked her to do my wedding hair. The day-of cost will actually be lower than $100, that's what I pay for a cut + color (including generous tip). She's great! I asked her what I could do for my wedding look since I have pretty short hair, and she said just buy whatever veil and headpiece I like and she'd work with it!

The Leslie Studio is absolutely wonderful!!! I went there for the first time right before my engagement photo shoot to get an introduction to makeup since I never wore much before. I wanted to start wearing some now so that on my wedding day next year I don't look like an entirely different person to my friends. One of the staffers did my makeup for me - an amazing casual look - as well as told me what colors work best on me in conversation. She was so nice and we actually had a lot of fun! I've never laughed so much with someone I've just met. I spent $120 on makeup that day just for daily wear, but they offer a service of a trial run + wedding day makeup for $60 for the bride (I think it's a bit less for bridesmaids/mothers because it's less crucial for them). I highly recommend them to anyone I know!

We're doing our pre-marital counseling/mentor program through Mars Hill as well as having one of their pastors officiate our wedding. So far we're really happy - even though he's been doing this for years, the head pre-marital pastor is still reallye excited about new marriages. We're having a chuppah and he's willing to talk about what that means in during the ceremony so our guests will understand (since we're all Christian).

Tovis Bratsburg was our photographer and was absolutely amazing! The package included engagement photos, the rehearsal dinner, and the ENTIRE wedding day - unlimited hours, unlimited shots.
We've had our engagement photos done and the quality is top notch and he did the perfect amount of retouching - enough to get sweaters off our clothes and fix weird shadows while still not altering our physical traits so we still look like us. He's very comfortable and casual and we had so much fun taking our engagement photos, and he made sure we got every shot we wanted. After he took out the bad ones we had 120 photos from the afternoon shoot!
