I am not a fan of cake so I let DH choose this as he is a cake lover. This was the only place we tried and he said it was great so we went with them. I showed them a picture of what I wanted and it turned out great. It was a little smaller than I expected, but I think its because I ended up not getting a cake stand to sit it on. They also made DH’s grooms cake – a tv shaped cake with the Family Guy characters in the screen. It was pretty awesome, better than I imagined it would look.

Also, they do have another store on Barrett Station Rd, so you dont have to go into Jennings to taste.

Valerie is awesome! Her prices cant be beat and her work is great. When I went to her house for my first fitting we brought the dress and crinoline that we bought at Davids. She told me I wouldn’t want that crinoline because it would be so hot and put a hoop slip on me instead, omg, the difference was amazing. I couldn’t even feel my dress on my legs. I didn’t need much done to my dress besides some b00bs put in, the panel removed from the corset, and a bustle. Using the hoop slip raised my dress up enough so she didn’t have to hem it – totally her idea – but saved us $$$. My BM’s also brought their dresses to her and my Mom did too and she did a wonderful job on all of them. Just be aware…Valerie is FULL of energy!

I had a trial with D'Shannon in March of 2009. I loved how she did my makeup, but I did not love her unprofessional way of booking customers. She failed to tell me until I sent my deposit in that she had a morning wedding the same day and couldnt get to me at the time I specified. Somehow she figured it out and said the other bride cancelled her bms, and it was just the bride getting makeup so she would have time for me. The same day I did my trial, I also booked her for my boudior shoot in August 2009. I spoked with D'Shannon two days prior to my shoot and we nailed down the time and place for my makeup application. That day, she never showed up. I tried calling her and she didnt answer her phone. I didnt get a hold of her until after my shoot and ended up doing my own makeup. When I finally did speak with her, she acted as if she had no idea why I was upset and never really gave me a reason why she failed to show up. All she could come up with was that she must have marked down the date wrong. I decided not to use her for my wedding (who wants to rely on someone who may or may not show up?) and got my deposit back. She wouldnt give me back the money for my trial (or my bm who did a trial also).
I do not recommend D'Shannon. She is very talented, but after what she put me through I wouldnt wish that on anyone. Imagine if that were my wedding day? (or yours!)

My bridesmaids ordered their dresses from here. I was pleased with the service minus one small detail. The owner had one of my bms order her dress one size up even though the size she tried on fit her perfectly. When the dress came in it was too big on top and will need to be altered. Other than that, I thought the service was great, shes very friendly. They have a large selection of bm dresses and the prices were decent. FYI, they moved and are no longer on 94, they are in a larger store in Old Towne.
