Stephanie is an extremely talented photographer! Not only is she warm, friendly, and lots of fun (important qualities in a wedding and family photographer!) but she is also great at capturing detail and color and character in her photos. She shot both my bridal shower and my wedding, and her photos of both events were amazing. She got beautiful portrait and candid shots of everyone at my bridal shower, as well as wonderful still shots of the food and flowers, which looked so lush and colorful through her lens. At our wedding, she was masterful at creating great shots and capturing unique details. Let me put it this way: one of my favorite photos from our wedding is one of us leaping into the air with our friends, and even though we're all mid-air, we all look fantastic and happy and dynamic. And it is beautifully composed which is difficult when your subjects are leaping! I highly recommend Stephanie to anyone looking for a creative, professional, and fun photographer for their event.

Kristi is an amazing photographer! We really could not be happier with the photos from our wedding and our engagement shoot--they are unique, artistic, beautiful. Not only is Kristi extremely talented, but she is also very easy to work with. It was important to us that our photographer blend in with our guests and friends because we've been to weddings where the photographer basically orders everyone around--well, Kristi was so friendly and easy-going that most of our guests assumed she was a friend! Of course, we still wanted her to get wonderful pictures of moments we remembered and moments we might have missed--and she more than surpassed our expectations on that count as well! I don't know how I'm going to pick among the photos she sent--they are all so good! Any photographer can take one excellent photo--Kristi gave us hundreds of excellent photos! Best of all, Kristi really listens to you and works with you. We didn't want that many pictures of us--we wanted her to focus more on getting lots of pictures of our guests having fun. We figured we'd sacrifice getting that amazing picture of us, but we didn't have to--Kristi was able to get lots of beautiful pictures of us and then, as we wished, get lots of great pictures of our guests as well. We also had a fairly untraditional wedding and, unlike some vendors we talked to, Kristi was completely excited about our ideas, and made sure to get lots of pictures of the different things we incorporated that were special to us (she brought two wonderful assistants to make sure she didn't miss anything). The best recommendation I can give is that everyone who sees the pictures says, "wow, you had a wonderful photographer"! And I feel proud for finding her! Kristi is fantastic--I'd recommend her to anyone (I've already recommended her to a friend for whom I'm going to be maid of honor in a few months).

First, we're so sad that the 6th street location of Chichen Itza closed! But the good news is that they still have the Grand Street location AND their excellent catering business. Chichen Itza catered our wedding in August and we could not have been happier with the service and with the food. We really didn't want boring wedding food seasoned primarily with salt, and my husband was very focused on having delicious food in big portions--exactly what Chichen Itza delivered. Gilberto Cetina, Jr. of Chichen Itza worked with us to put together a fantastic menu of 5 passed appetizers (chicken mole skewers, shrimp ceviche tostadas, cochinita pibil on baguette, tuna-stuffed peppers in tomato sauce, chicken empanadas--all exceptional), a plated appetizer (lovely spinach and egg tamalaes in tomato sauce--"brazo de reina"), their delicious orange and jicama salad, 3 entree choices (chicken pibil, pork filet with salsa de hierbas, and fish in a tomato/pepper cream sauce), a dessert buffet including individual flans, and lovely drinks--and all served with chips, habanero salsa (amazing!), rice, beans, plantains, and corn and flour tortillas. It was delicious, and our guests said it was tasty, a feast, and a real relief from bland wedding food. I highly recommend Chichen Itza for excellent and unique wedding catering!
We absolutely LOVED the flowers that Meg did for our wedding. Based on the recommendation of a friend who works in the wedding industry, I hired Meg to do both "week-of" coordination and all the flowers for our wedding. I am so glad I did. I was nervous about hiring a florist because I usually find wedding flowers to be pretty boring and uninspired, but after scouring Meg's website I realized that her arrangements really were unique as well as beautiful. We talked a lot about finding unusual flowers and incorporating succulents and bright orchids and spindly wildflowers into the bouquets and arrangements. Meg put the varied textures and colors together in a way that was harmonious, artistic, and simply beautiful. My friends had been teasing me about having succulents as my primary wedding flowers, but when Meg's assistant brought in my bouquet everyone thought it was gorgeous--and my friends admitted they had no idea succulents could be so pretty. I've never been to a wedding where the guests gush specifically about the flowers, but they did at ours. Meg had shown me an inspiration board before the wedding to make sure we were on the same page about the flowers (and we were) but I was still blown away by how beautifully she put everything together. I can't recommend her highly enough.
