Miki and Sonja did our wedding, and we just got all our proofs. We LOVED them and really think they did fabulous work. They are a husband and wife team, and they're awesome at capturing all the details while not being annoyingly in your face so you can enjoy your wedding completely. They had a great balance of photojournalistic candid pictures and portraits. We had a 300 person wedding, and they really got at least one picture of everyone there, which I was very impressed with. They are definitely on the more expensive side, but I thought they were really worth it. We got a great 4x6 copy of every picture they took, DVDs with all the high-res pictures (each picture was like 10MB each and they took 1400 pictures at our wedding), 8 hours of coverage, and an album. We also did engagement photos with them. I highly highly recommend them. They were one of our favorite vendors.

The cake looked pretty, and tasted even better! Even if you don't decide to use them as your bakery, go do a tasting with them! Their cakes are all declicious! Our wedding was on the hottest day of the year, and it still looked beautiful!

Ricardo did such an amazing job at my wedding and everyone thought the flowers looked fantastic. I thought he was particularly good at just bringing everything together. I did not have too much of a vision of what I wanted. I just wanted it to be pretty, and he did such a great job of making the entire event "magical." We had him do our lighting and we rented chairs and linens from him, so he was in charge of pretty much all the decor, and it really looked perfect. They are definitely expensive, but you can really count on him and his team to do a great job.
Luna Gardens does event design, so they do flowers, lighting, chairs, linens, dance floors, etc. They did a fantastic job of making everything flow together. The Chavari Chairs were much cheaper than other places I looked ($7 per chair), and they were nice.
We hired a brass quintet for the ceremony music. They did a fine job and my only complaint was that they weren't so great at transitioning into the bridal entrance (but, I am also a musician, so not sure if anyone else noticed). All in all, having brass was nice and just different from the usual string quartet I seem to be seeing at many weddings.

Soulville was unbelievable. They were hands down my favorite vendor. If you are going to splurge on one thing for your wedding, I really felt that a great band that makes the wedding really fun is key! They were so amazing and literally people are still talking today about how great they were. TC was our MC, and there were 3 other singers. They sang everything from Frank Sinatra to Usher to Madonna! They could perform music from every generation so well and were so great at evaluating what people were dancing to. People were dancing until 1 in the morning!

Tobey was fantastic. She has been in the wedding industry for a long time, and her expertise really showed! She was so on top of things and made the whole day go so smoothly. I hired her about 2 months before the wedding when we decided to not use the first coordinator we hired, and Tobey managed to sweep right in and handle everything perfectly. Her organization skills were on a completely different level than the previous coordinator we had. She always knew how to handle every situation and was especially good at calming my parents' nerves as well (something very hard to do!). She allowed us to fully enjoy everything and was well worth the money spent! I highly highly recommend her to everyone!

Mariah Nicole is a wonderful makeup artist. She is really great at giving you a really natural look. I felt like my makeup looked beautiful on the day of the wedding.
My complaint about her is that I didn't think that she was very professional. She had a hard time figuring out how much time she was going to need to do my hair and makeup and all my bridesmaids' hair and makeup. My coordinator kept trying to get her to solidfy how much time she was going to need so we could make the final schedule, and it basically took until 2 days before the wedding to get that info from her. She also promised me that she was going to stay until the reception and then 5 days before the wedding she told me that something came up and that she doesn't even remember telling me that she was going to stay until the reception. We had even talked about doing two different hairstyles for the wedding (down for the ceremony, and up for the reception)! When I reminded her of that, she told me that there would have been another charge for another hairdo! She had never told me that before, and that seems kind of ridiculous since we are paying her to be there!
Also, at my second hair trial, she told me that the price was actually more than the first hair trial (by 2 times!). She never told me this prior to the hair/makeup trial, so I of course assumed it was the same price as the first one. She told me that the reason was because she is trying to get clients to sign up with her at the first hair trial, and by the second hair trial since they are already her client, she doesn't need to give a discount. She said that the second hair trial is like going to get your hair and makeup done as a full service. I don't understand what part of "trial" she didn't understand. I literally took my hair down before she even walked out of our house. I wasn't going to walk around town with my hair in an updo! She did finally agree to let us pay the same discounted price as the first updo. "Discount" is all relative though. Her discounted rate was still about $150! She wanted to charge me $300!!! You would think that she would want to keep her brides happy and that she would take into consideration that it was a trial and that we are paying a lot for her services later.
On the day of the wedding, I had a mini disaster with her. Throughout the 2 trials with her, I wasn't totally in love with my hair, but I thought it was fine. I thus kept trying to look for different hairstyles in magazines to maybe show her. I talked to my usual hairdresser in boston, and she gave me the great idea of having an asymmetrical look ('cuz my face is kinda crooked). She showed me the idea on my hair really quickly when I went in for a haircut, and I loved it! I told Mariah Nicole about it and she said that she totally understood what I wanted. While it was probably my fault for changing what I wanted on the day of the wedding, she was not very accomodating when I realized she just couldn't do what I wanted. I was not thrilled with the way my hair ended up looking and she said that I did not have enough hair to make my hair do exactly what I wanted. I then told her to just change it to the original updo we had done at the last trial (just a simple chignon), and she refused to change it. It literally would have taken her about 15 minutes to move the updo from the side to the center! Anyway, everyone still told me I looked beautiful, but I just didn't feel like I looked my best!
My bridesmaids were for the most part happy with what she did. Out of 6 bridesmaids, one girl hated her makeup, and one girl hated her hair, but I guess you can't please everyone!
All in all, she is probably a great artist, but seemed to lack maturity with her business skills.

We had a 300 person wedding, and the venue fit everyone perfectly. Ceremony was in the rose garden, cocktail hour was on the marina with the boats, and then the reception was in the main ballroom.
The hotel did a great job with everything. There were no major disasters and the service was great! Nichelle (the onsite coordinator) was really good at directing everything and making sure things were going as planned. The Ritz was extremely accomodating with giving guests the wedding block discount even after we used up the block and as late as a week before the wedding! We all really appreciated that! The bridal suite was gorgeous and had a beautiful view. They decorated the room and gave us champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for our wedding night. My only complaint is that I thought that the food for dinner was not as good as it was at the tasting. We served a duo plate of steak and seabass for the main course, and while it tasted good, it didn't taste nearly as good as it did at the tasting (I probably should give them some slack though because they were cooking for 300 people!).
