I have recently gone back to the Old Mill for a retreat with my company. This was where we had our bridal shower brunch, which was wonderful. The evening before my best friend and I stayed over and had great spa service. They give the best messages, I still remember how good my back felt afterwards and how relaxed I felt! It's a beautiful place, and it's the sort of place that you go to be relaxed and unwind. The rooms are clean and nice. The brunch was also nice! It was great to get all dresses up, and the dinning hall that we ate at was really beautiful! They had these big tables heaped with all this great food, and it all looked and tasted wonderful! We did need to make reservations, and we did ask for a reversation during a time that they wouldn't be so busy.

I am always looking for an opportunity to go to Medieval Times! It's a rather expensive outting, mainly because it's about $70 per person, and because it's always more fun to go with big groups of people. My husband and I both wanted to go, and so we decided to have a half-reherrsal dinner and half-joint bachelor/bachelorette party at Medieval Times. We had arranged for all the siblings to get together, along with some close friends, and reserved tickets at Midieval times. It's a fun place and I love how the staff and servers stay in character the whole time. I found out that they do have a vegetarian option, which was great for my sister-in-law who is a vegetarian. We didn’t emphasis that it was our wedding party, but they do fun things for when it’s people’s birthdays, so they might have done something fun if we would have said something, I’m sure.

My husband took care of the planning for the limousine service. He doesn't necessarily love cars and wanted a specific car, but when we were delegating who would do what in the planning, he offered to make sure that a limousine would pick me up and bring me to the church. I think he found out about this company through the yellow pages, and picked them because they had good rates. I loved the Enchanted Limousine! My favorite part was the the driver arrived wearing a tuxedo, so I really felt like Cinderalla or a princess when he held the door open for me. The Driver had a great attitude, and loved his role in calling us "madame". The inside of the limousine, which was black, was clean and spacious. My husband took a different limousine to the church, but when it was time for us to drive around and take pictures, we took the same limousine that I had arrived in.

The hotel that we would be having our reception at was providing all the floral arrangements, but I still wanted to have my own bouquet. I love flowers, and all the weddings I have gone to, the brides have always had beautiful bouquets. This was where my best friend got her bouquet, but this is also one of the best reviewed places in all of Toronto. I remember that the staff was really professional and full of positive energy, they are very talented florists and I got many wonderful ideas from them. They gave me a crash course on what flowers would be in season, which flowers make the best arragements, but they let me make the final decision. I loved my bouquet so much! I also didn't 'throw' my bouquet like most brides do; I had my bouquet dried professionally because it was so beautiful, I wanted to keep it forever.

I want to give Alisa 5 stars because she did a wonderful job on my make-up and hair for the wedding! She's also a nice person, and she's exactly the sort of person you want around while you're getting ready for your wedding ceremony. I wanted to have my make-up and hair done at home, and I got Alisa's contact information from someone at work. I contacted her right away and then we set up a consultation. We had a 1 hour trail, which was perfect, because it gave me a chance to meet Alisa and also it gave us a chance to talk about ideas for my hair and make-up, and for the hair and make-up of the bridesmaids. I think she has excellent rates, too. For the wedding day we actually planned for Alisa to do the hair and make-up of my mother, sister-in-law, bridesmaids and myself, and that came to about $60 per person or so. She's really professional, talented, and she's a wonderul person! I think that Alisa is a fun person who is really understanding and happy for the bridal party. And it is worth it to have your hair and make-up done at home, I couldn't imagine going out to a salon before the ceremony to have my hair done.

I love my engagment ring! We had discussed marriage a few times, and we were both committed to the idea of spending the rest of our lives together. One day I get a call from my parants letting me know that my husband-to-be justed asked them for permission to marry me, and my mom said "go for it!". He had gone to Lucas Ari a few times to look at rings, but because they are an investment he wanted me to have imput into the ring design. I really loved the idea of having a custum ring. We set up a meeting and it was a really great experience, the staff was helpful, and by the end of the week we had chosen a style that we both liked and that was in our price range. I loved that they understood right away that we were willing to spend x-amount of dollars and didn't pressure us to spend more.

We got the save-the-date cards and the invitations, along with the thank you cards for our guests from Pulp. We shopped around for a few weeks, online and at stores, and decided that this was the best option for us. We liked being able to see face to face who would be making our cards, and we also liked being able to see the card selection in person rather than online. We were also able to get advice and great suggestions about the wording of the cards, which was important because we weren't sure what we were doing! They have a great selection, and they were able to answer all the questions that we had about timing and deliveries.

My husband and his brother were fitted for suits at the Bay. They were fitted for pants and jackets, and they got really great accessories. They got a vest a silk ties, and I thought that my husband look soo handsome. My husband wanted to wear a nice three-piece suit rather than a tuxedo because he thought that it would look nicer at a September wedding, and also because he wanted a nice suit that he could keep for years to come. He really wasn't interested in renting a tux. The Bay has an excellent men's section, and he likes to go shopping at the Bay because they have great name brand shirts and pants that he can't find elsewhere in the city, and he also finds them at the Bay for a great price. I've gone shopping with him and I've seen him pick up hundred dollar shirts that are 75% off! It is worth it to go here and check it out, because they do carry great brands and the clothing is of excellent quality.

This was a great show to see, mainly because it gave me lots of ideas of how my wedding could be, and what the look and theme of the wedding would be. The original reason why I went to the 2007 show was because they were offering free tickets to brides who signed up online, but I'm not sure if they still offer that promotion. They had lots of freebies and tasties at the show, which was fun because everyone likes to get free stuff. This was also where I got my free wedding planning guide and budget guide for planning a wedding. The planning tools were great for me, because I really didn't fully understand yet what ratio should be spent on flowers to cake to the reception hall. The bridal show was great, I got to meet and see lots of great vendors from the area. It's really overwhelming because there are so many ideas going around, but I kept with the basics: find a hall vendor, find a dress vendor, find a cake vendor, etc. I tried to see as many vendors as I could and got all there contact information, and if I really liked them I set up a consultation.

We found Mila by looking through the yellowpages for a seamstress that could tailor my new wedding dress. Because I bought the dress from a person and not a store, I didn't feel comfortable going back to the store and asking them to do the alterations. Also, I just needed the dress to be taken in under the arms and to be hemmed a bit. The alterations would be simple, and so I just looked for someone who was nearby who could do the work. Mila was great! She took care of the dress, was really nice about taking measurements, and making me feel that my dress was the most important thing in the world. It's just really nice to have someone give you so much nice and professional attention. The dress looked great, it fit perfectly, and I was really happy with the great work Mila did.
