You wonder if your hair will look it's best on a special occasion. Brian at John Peri Salon is the greatest. I am the mother of the groom and all our friends and family would be attending this special event. Brian does a lot of brides and their families hair and make-up. He did the bride's hair (my new daughter-in-law) and my hair and we received so many compliments on how wonderful we looked. I use Brian for my hair but Stephanie lives in Panama and had never met him. Wow. We were so impressed with his ability to understand what she wanted and he gave her exactly what she described to him. Both of our hairstyles stayed in all evening and we didn't have to do a thing to keep it looking perfect. He is very talented and also a really nice guy.

The bride and groom live in Panama and they wanted to share the many photos they had of the beautiful surroundings with their guests during their wedding. In order to do so we needed to rent a large flat screen TV and computer to continuously show the DVD that they had prepared. Scott Ramsey of Broadcast Support was a find. Tim at La Venta Inn our wedding location told me about them and they were so accomodating and reasonably priced. They delivered the TV and installed it and the entire evening we had the beauty of Panama around us during our celebration. In addition, Scott provided colored lighting for the corners of the room which gave the ballroom a gorgeous effect of warmth and style. It was the finishing touch for a magnificent evening. These people know their business and they are very nice and quite efficient.

My grandaughter was the flower girl at my son's wedding. Since she was only four years old we were wondering where to get her dress and if it would be expensive. After looking around I went shopping at Macy's in the Manhatten Beach Mall and found that they had so many beautiful party dresses and they were in all sizes and colors. I could not believe how many there were to choose from. We picked a stunning little dress in size 3T in white with light beige trim. The amazing thing was the price. Although, it was marked $79 it was 40% off and therefore it looked really expensive but cost less then $40. Variety and price in a children's dept that I would think only had casual clothes. Macy's really does have everything.

When we choose La Venta Inn for my son's wedding we knew the food would be prepared by New York Food Company. Even though they always have a tasting event for the families to attend to sample their food, the timing of our wedding prevented us from participating in their next tasting. So they arranged for a private tasting at their offices and kitchen in El Segundo. We chose the food we wanted to sample and they made an appointment just for us. Wow. What a fabulous experience. Everything was delicious and the presentation was equally impressive. This made it so much easier to pick our menu since they offer so many choices on their menu. Our wedding was December 20, 2008 and New York Food Company catered the party. All the guests were raving over the food and the service. Thanks to La Venta Inn and New York Food Company our wedding was a complete success.

The out-of-town guests for our wedding stayed at the Hacienda Hotel in El Segundo on Sepulveda Blvd. The sales department arranged for the rooms to be overlooking the pool and at an excellent rate per night of $89. We had at least ten rooms with reservations so the price was then $79 per night. This hotel was conveniently located near us as we live only a few blocks from their location and people could just walk over for the many festive meals we had at our house. In addition, the hotel has a 24 hour restaurant that is pretty good and convenient. The guests were not all thrilled with the accomodations but most said they were just fine. I think the lobby and atrium are lovely and the staff helpful. It is really great that it is located only 10 minutes from LAX and they have a shuttle bus that runs frequently to the airport and back. This made is easier for us not having to pick everyone up.

The best man from our wedding rented his tux from MW Tux in El Segundo. We thought their variety of choices was great and they were very patient when we came back three times before we decided to rent his tux there. The salespeople were likeable and showed that they cared at every opportunity. When we picked up the tux one day before the wedding it turned out to fit perfectly and the best man looked great. I thought the prices were a little high but I guess that's the going rate. Things worked out well for us here.

For the groom we purchased the tux from Men's Warehouse in Marina del Rey. One thing that was great was we could buy the jacket and pants individually which meant we could choose the size of each thereby getting the one that fit best. We also got the shirt, tie and shoes there. There were only slight alterations but I was very impressed with the fitter who seemed to care a lot that everything was right. The salespeople were friendly but seemed more interested in each other than in us. Even though they were not attentive we were able to find what we needed and ultimately the whole outfit was outstanding. Men's Warehouse turned out to be a good resource and since we didn't have a lot of time before the wedding the one-stop-shopping was great.

Ordering wedding invitations online was much more successful than I thought it would be. We reviewed many different designs and it was even easy to call the company for advice. The cost was considerably less than getting them locally and the quality was quite good. Upon my request, they mailed me a sample of the invitation we chose before we placed the order. You can get a proof before you place the order which is very important. The ordering process was simple and the website is easy to navigate. The costs are broken down by quantity and item chosen so we could decide if we wanted to buy it all or take something off. We are glad we used InvitationConsultants.com.

We love this restaurant in the beautiful Plaza El Segundo. They have a stunning back room that was perfect for our rehearsal dinner and would be great for any party. The atmosphere here is casual yet elegant. The service is excellent and the menu is varied and delicious. They have a special banquet menu with reasonable prices that made our evening affordable. The parking is right there and easy and the center is lovely.

This is a great resource for invitations. The charm and variety available in the shop is terrific. We provided them with an address list of our wedding guests and they even have the software to address the envelopes and make them look like caligraphy. They also did the individual inside envelopes which added so much to the look of our invitations. They are nice and caring and get involved. They are now located in the new shopping center in El Segundo.
