I knew I wanted sushi, but I also knew that half my guests at the rehearsal dinner wouldn't touch it, so I compromised by going to a Japanese Hibachi. I didn't do much of the reservation process (my sister-in-law to be took that job), but I was very happy with the restaurant and the food. We had the dinner out at the hibachi tables, and then moved into one of the banquet rooms for dessert and coffee. It was fun, and the hibachi provided some entertainment. I didn't want my rehearsal dinner to be at all stuffy or dull. My only complaint would be that their alcohol selection is fairly limited.

K Florist is run by some of the sweetest people you will ever meet. They are all one family. Jinna, with whom I worked the closest, was so genuinely enthusiastic about my design ideas (she also said it was nice to have a bride come in who already knew exactly what she wanted). The bouquets and boutonnieres were exquisite, and just what I wanted. They also won't screw you over. When I showed the design for my bridesmaids' arrangements (candle bowls surrounded with ivy and ribbons) to Jinna, she did a price quote, and then suggested that I make them myself to save money, since I could do them for $7 and it would cost over $50 from them. She also recommended getting my table flowers from Safeway (!) to save money as well. I took her advice, consequently spending only about $150 for all the table decorations vs. thousands. And the work that they DID do (my bouquet, in particular), was amazing, and reasonably priced.

I went with MD Party Rentals because they had the black and white checkered dance floor that I wanted. However, the two men who came to install it were not very professional. I missed the call that they were at the site, so I was not there to tell them where to put it. When I found out they were there, I hurried over to see. They were putting it at the opposite end of the tent, and when I told them to move it, they argued with me. My brother-in-law got it straightened out, but it was one hassle I didn't want to have to deal with the day before my wedding.

I would recommend Sterling Caterers to anyone. They were prompt, professional, and made everything run smoothly. They even went above and beyond, doing things like opening wine bottles (even though I brought my own and didn't purchase it through them), to helping decorate the tables and move the cake. I had an cocktail reception, and having tasted some of their full "meals" would say that their hors d'oeuvres are one of their strengths. Everything we ordered was delicious - crab dip, bacon-wrapped scallops, stuffed mushrooms, swedish meatballs, cheese, fruit, hummus, grape leaves... Gina was very helpful in getting everything planned, and recommended vendors for other services as well. Best of all, her proposal stayed well within my stated budget. Other caterers I talked to brought back fancy proposals, but exceeded my budget by as much as $1,000. That is an immediate turn-off for me, since, for my wedding, I was trying to make $1 stretch into $100.

I am extremely happy with this company. First, their cakes TASTE delicious (so many wedding cakes I've had are bland, too sweet, too dry, or salty). The cake tasting was one of the most fun parts of the wedding planning process. It was so hard to choose flavors. I also brought them an original design that I had sketched, and they executed it perfectly. All the guests commented on how unique and dramatic the cake was. You will pay for their skills, however. Expect to drop at least $500 on a small cake.

They do FANTASTIC work, and are very professional. I hardly even noticed them during the wedding, and they captured some beautiful moments. I am so happy with the photos, and with their prompt responses to all questions and concerns. Our prints arrived in a timely fashion and are of very high quality. Our friends were so impressed that they hired Ricky Chung on the spot for their wedding in December.
