Meeting on Sunday was important to me because so many of my friends traveled so far to be at the wedding, and we wanted to see them again. We chose this café. It has some good vegetarian breakfast items on the menu, an it is so cute and cozy. It is also only open till 1pm on Sunday, and if you get there after 11am most of the baked goods are gone. Also, this is sort of a college hangout for breakfast, so call if you want a table for more than 6 people.

Our parents paid for us to spend one night at the Peabody hotel. I would have been fine going home, and I almost made them cancel their reservation, but I was so happy I didn’t. This is the most luxury place I ever stayed. I really thought that nothing would beat the rooftop at the Madison hotel, but then we ended up at this hotel which is just a world of difference. From outside I would have never have guessed how beautiful it was on the inside. I’m happy that they gave us the memory of staying here.

My husband and I had been vegetarians for the longest time, and only recently did we start eating some meat and fish again. We still wanted the rehearsal dinner to be at our favorite vegetarian restaurant. The food here is great, and the chef will alter your order if you have allergies or don’t like something. I also liked the atmosphere, and I like that you can have take-out.

This whole evening was perfect because it was run so smoothly. Our main contact person, Josh, was in charge of making sure that the food and the set-up was just perfect. The view was wonderful, and the menu they had was great. They take care of the food and drinks, and I was happy that I didn’t need to get in contact with a second person. I only wish I hadn’t been so busy and could have eaten more! Everyone kept saying how good the food was but I barely had time to eat more than two bites.

I wanted to have a whole low-key wedding, but once my mother talked me into having a rooftop party following our garden reception, I realized that the invitations needed to be nice. I wanted something nicer than what I could make, so I asked some friends and they all suggested Shara. Her shop was cute and I liked the idea of having someone from Memphis make the cards. I asked Shara to make the invitations, because I know she was able to make something chic and cool and still look like something that my husband and I would make. I loved the she understood my solstice theme, and how she suggested bright yellow and red envelopes. It was perfect, just what I wanted.

I liked the idea of having something practical as a favor or gift to the guests, which is why I really liked the idea of having custom wedding cookies. We debated over getting the traditional bride/groom cookie set, but when we saw that they made beautiful sun and moon cookies, we went with that. We loved how our solstice wedding party theme could be part of the cookie design.

People are always saying that what makes a bridal party look good is when their shoes match. One of the bridesmaids made all the dresses, and so we just needed to look for shoes. I decided on DSW because they have hundreds of shoes to chose between for so cheap. We were there for three hours, and I like the fact that you don’t really need a salesperson to help you. I usually hate shopping in big stores, but DSW is usually so well organized that I never mind spending time in that store.

My mother and aunt managed to get me to the wedding show, and I thought I would have hated it but it was more or less like walking through the mall on a very crowded day. The fashion show was nice, and I really liked seeing the men’s fashion. It gave me some good ideas about what my future husband would wear on our wedding day.

It takes less than an hour to get there, but it was a nice and easy drive from Memphis. I wasn’t in love with the idea of getting a white wedding dress, but I found the most simple and beautiful wedding dress here. It was not cheap. They had a whole rack full of beautiful wedding dresses that were 65% off, but I had to go for the one dress that was over $1000 and not on sale. I think my mother was just happy that I found something somewhat traditional.

I never go out to clubs, and I’m not the type of person who likes going to busy clubs like Backstreet, but my girlfriends convinced me to go since there was the promise of karoke. I remember that the karaoke wasn’t really popular when we arrived, which was early, but we did get to sing a few songs before going to the dance floor upstairs. They played great music, lots of 80s and 90s music, and some new stuff, the DJ was great because he really mixed it up for everyone.
