We hired our DJ through All Out Entertainment. I highly recommend using this company. For a reception that lasted from 4 pm to 12 am, it was only $2000, and our DJ, Anthony, played the whole time. He met with us three times before the wedding (at his request) to ensure that he played songs that exactly fitted our specifications, and created a spreadsheet of "scheduled events" since he served as a sort of host for the evening. He followed our requests exactly, and did not steal the show with annoying announcements or crude jokes (I've been to weddings where the evening is ruined by an obnoxious DJ). He was professional the whole time, as were his assistants. They dressed nicely (black dress pants and shoes, dress shirts, and nice ties), and refused even to eat (though we offered). After the wedding, Anthony gave us a follow-up email and call, just to ensure that we were satisfied and to wish us well in our marriage. I HIGHLY recommend using this company. Their DJs really take their work seriously. And it shows.

I found my bridesmaids' dresses at David's Bridal. Although I do not like their stock wedding dresses, I think every girl should consider finding their bridesmaids dresses there. There are plenty of reasons for this: 1) They are a nationwide chain, so if you have bridesmaids out of state, they can be fitted near their homes without the worry that you've gotten their measurements wrong. 2) They are cheap. It's nice for your bridesmaids, since they're already paying a lot to be a part of your special day. 3) They have a TON of options to choose from, ranging from the style of dress to the color. You can find exactly what you want there. 4) Their service is fast, and there is always someone to help you find what you need. 5) They have contacts to other vendors, such as florists and DJs, which can be hugely helpful (I didn't use any of their contacts myself, but it is nice to have the option).

There is one HUGE negative about using David's Bridal that I'd like to mention. Do NOT use them for shoes. I chose some pretty shoes for my bridesmaids (since I wanted them all to match) and asked David's Bridal to dye them to the color I had chosen (they pride themselves on their ability to dye shoes to whatever color you want). After three tries, the shoes were still far from being correct (My bridesmaids ended up with eggplant colored shoes instead of mocha on my wedding day. And their dresses were tea-length. I was livid). Though David's Bridal ate the cost, it was not worth the hassle or inconvenience. Plus, they never got the color right. I would recommend their dresses ONLY.

I think the saying is true that "you can't put a price on beauty." My wedding dress and veil were definitely costly, but in my opinion, it was well worth it. I had basically given up on finding the "perfect" dress, especially after a full day spent running from boutique to boutique. Most of the saleswomen I worked with were snobby and made no effort to help me find the most important dress of my life. Then came Demetrio's. A classy boutique that is FULL of dresses, all designed and hand-made by Demetrio himself. I worked with a woman named Zita, who not only cared about finding me the perfect dress, which she did, but who also kept in touch with me personally until the day I walked down the aisle. Just to make sure everything was okay. The price is high because your measurements are sent to Paris, where the dress is made in Demetrio's warehouse. But the end result is worth it: a dress that is designed to fit you PERFECTLY, and make you feel spectacular on your special day. You're also guaranteed a unique experience, because you can alter Demetrio's basic designs to fit your own personal taste. I would encourage girls to go to Demetrio's. You only get to wear your wedding dress once, which is why most girls settle for a cheaper design. I would argue that it is BECAUSE you only get to wear it once that you opt to pay more. You'll be able to look back on the biggest day of your life knowing that you couldn't have looked better.

I had my bachelorette party at the Yard House in San Diego. It was great. The atmosphere is fancy enough so that we could dress up in cute cocktail attire, but casual enough so that we didn't feel guilty for laughing loudly and having a good time. The food is excellent and not over-priced. Highlights of the night included a special "bachelorette" song performed for me by the staff and a free round of shots from the bartender. It's a great place to go if you want to enjoy a good time with friends without being completely out of control.

Edelweiss Bakery is amazing. It is affordable and the cakes are beautiful. I had a huge wedding and I got a four-tiered, white, lemon-filled cake. It was delicious. Truly delicious; most of the cakes I had tried beforehand were pretty but not tasty. This was both. They decorated it with my flowers and did an exquisite job. They delivered it early and set it up exactly how I specified. I think the most surprising part of working with Edelweiss was the price. I would have been happy to pay at least $2500 for a cake that looked like mine. And mine was only $300. I really believe that everyone in the greater San Diego area should use them as their cake vendor.
