For our wedding favors, we decided to make a donation to St. Jude’s and they printed bookmarks for each of our guests with our names and wedding date on them. I was really happy we decided to go this route, as I liked knowing that our money was going to a good cause and not to some trinket that most people probably would have forgotten about.
Denise was amazing. I met with her a couple of times to plan our honeymoon to Mexico. She was never trying to get us to book anything more expensive, and in fact was doing the opposite. She seemed to be genuinely interested in getting us the best deal. She gave us plenty of information on our various options, and even showed us her personal pictures from a recent trip there. We’ve used her to book a couple of trips since and we’ve always been very happy with her.

This was an excellent place to have a reception. All of our guests commented on how much they loved this place. We had a nice banquet room, and just outside the banquet room was the bar/restaurant. Some of our guests went out there to smoke and enjoyed being able to hang out at the bar and watch the entertainment. The owner was very appreciative that we chose to have our reception there. We had a great time!!

Jeff and Alecia are amazing!! From the moment you meet with them, you can tell they love doing what they do. They were willing to spend a lot of time with us on the wedding day to make sure that they got every shot that we wanted. They worked with us from about 10 in the morning until about 10 in the evening and they were amazing. We had so much fun with them. It’s really nice that they work together as a team, because they were able to split up and do separate pictures of the guys and girls before the ceremony and then they were able to get lots of great shots after. They did lots of candids, poses and black and whites. I had about 900 proofs to choose from, which they put on a disc for me with full permission to reprint anything I chose to.

My husband bought my engagement ring from Chantal at Becky Beauchaine Kulka in Okemos. My ring is GORGEOUS and it didn’t cost him a fortune. We ended up getting both of our wedding bands there and have bought several other pieces of jewelry there since. We’ve always been very happy with anything purchased there.

Tricia did my hair for the wedding and other stylists from Essex did the rest of the wedding party’s hair. The first time I went to Tricia was for my practice updo. She did an excellent job and even took notes as to exactly what she had done. She took pictures for me on my camera and then took the updo out for me and restyled my hair so it looked cute when I left. On the day of the wedding, she was amazing. She helped keep me calm. They had bagels and juice there for me and the wedding party. I thought that was a really nice touch. I would recommend them to everyone!!

When Terry came to our house to meet us, we felt he was somewhat unprofessional. However, we had been to a wedding that he dj’d and everyone was out on the dance floor for most of the night, so we thought he’d do a great job. We had a list of songs that we wanted played at the reception. (Including our first dance song, etc.) He called me two nights before the wedding and told me he didn’t have those specific songs and asked that I bring them with me. I was VERY frustrated by this. I had a lot on my plate and the last thing I wanted to be doing was worrying about our music. I just wish he could have called weeks before the wedding, not days.
When all was said and done, he did a good job at the reception and everyone had a great time.

We were given Molly’s name and contact information from Michigan State University. They have a list of organists who play at the chapel on a regular basis. I can’t remember what her fee was, but I remember it was VERY reasonable. I met her at her home and she played several different songs for me on her piano and I was able to pick what we wanted at our ceremony. She had many different suggestions, but was also open to whatever I wanted to do. She even played one song as we were leaving the chapel and then half way through, switched it up and played the MSU fight song for us (on our request).

My husband and I both graduated from Michigan State University, so it was really special for us to have our ceremony on campus. Everything was so perfect. The only draw back is that you have a pretty tight time slot. (I believe we only had the chapel for 3 hours in total) I had my own bridal room to get ready in and there was a nice room in the basement that we could hang out in before and after the ceremony. Looking back on my pictures, I’m SO glad we had our ceremony in such a beautiful chapel. The stained glass looks amazing in all of our photos.

I LOVED working with Beth Henderson of Cake Art. She runs a cake business out of her home in Lansing. She came highly recommended from a few friends and I’m really glad we decided to go with her. We were invited to come over to her house for a cake tasting and to pick out the design of our cake. When we left her house, not only did we have a price and flavor sheet, but we had a plate full of samples and a drawing of what our cake would look like. Her prices are VERY reasonable.
