Starlet was my 4th stop while wedding dress shopping. My mom, MIL and I went to three dress shops one weekend but couldn't find "the" dress. So, the next weekend, my mom, MIL, sister, her MIL, and myself, went in and started trying on dresses. When I first began my wedding dress search, I had a vision of what I wanted it to be: A-line with pick-ups, beading, etc. The whole nine yards. So I was hesitant when the sales lady brought out some "simpler" dresses. But when I tried the frou-frou dresses on, they swallowed me, and wore me, instead of me wearing it. Lo and behold, one of the "simple" dresses was "the" dress! It had pleating, with crystal buttons in back and was/is absolutely gorgeous! The staff was very nice and helpful and it was all around a great experience.

I also got the bridesmaids' dresses there, and the tuxes, too. Would definitely recommend (already have and she found a dress similar to mine!).

This was the best cake I've ever had in my life! We met with Carolyn to do a tasting at her home. We tried the white cake with strawberry filling and the chocolate with almond filling, both with her signature WCCCI (whipped cream cream cheese icing) (the BEST!). We loved them both, and chose those flavors for our cake. About a month or so later, we went to the food tasting at our venue, and Carolyn happened to be there with her red velvet cake and lemon cake. The lemon cake was delicious, but we're not really lemon people. The red velvet? To. Die. For. Absolutely amazing. Right then we changed our order to have the top and bottom layers the red velvet with custard filling, and white cake with strawberry filling for the middle, all with the WCCCI. The cake decoration was absolutely beautiful. It was exactly what I envisioned, and more. I LOVED it. And the flavors were a hit as well! We couldn't wait to save the top layer for our anniversary; we ate it the week following the wedding! We plan to either get a small red velvet cake for our anniversary, or cupcakes.

We loved the cakes and flavors so much, we got both our kids' birthday cakes from Carolyn. We got the white with strawberry for our daughter, in a princess cake (so cute!) and the chocolate with custard for our son (so good!!). The price is right, and we will continue to get our cakes from Carolyn, as well as refer anyone and everyone we know (I've already referred a friend to her for her husband's birthday).

What can I say about Heather at The Blue Orchid? She was fabulous, reliable, professional, etc. She was great. We had met with another florist a few months before meeting with Heather. The other florist never got back to us, and thank goodness she didn't! I found Heather on Project Wedding, and with all the amazing reviews, I knew I had to meet with her. My husband (then-fiance) and I met her at her house and from the moment we looked through her portfolio we were hooked. Heather actually listened to my ideas and what I was looking for. We gave her our budget, and she came back to us with a proposal that fit in very nicely with our budget and exactly the flower choices we wanted. She took the poor suggestion for gazebo flowers from the other florist, and turned it into exactly what we were looking for. She incorporated the overall wedding flower theme into the gazebo and it looked beautiful. And the cake flowers! My cake looked absolutely stunning. Heather even took precautions with the stargazer lilies so the poisonous dust wouldn't get into the cake. My bridal bouquet was amazing and the flower girl basket was the cutest thing I had ever seen. It was a wooden stick-type square with red ribbon and white flowers in the front with red rose petals inside. It was very earthy, unique, and beautiful.

I cannot praise Heather enough. Go meet with her; you will not be disappointed!
