We had such a good experience as Salon de Solace. I found the salon after searching online for salons with positive reviews. I live out of town, so I didn't have the benefit of having a regular salon to go to. Cori was the name I saw mentioned most often in reviews on yahoo and yelp. I made an appt. with her for a trial and right away she got me and my style. She tried a couple of different looks and I settled on a half up/ half down look. I wanted to have one more trial to try different hair "decorations" to find the final look. Cori had suggested that while I should bring the things that I had bought, that if I had anything like a pin or piece of jewelry to bring those as well. I brought in a pin that had belonged to my grandmother that my Aunt had offered for the day. It turned out to be the perfect finishing touch to my hair. The salon was totally flexible and made themselves available early on the day of my wedding to accommodate all of my bridesmaids. Everybody's hair turned out beautiful! They encouraged us to bring food to help make the day more fun for us and to "take over" the salon. Jade, the owner, did all of our make-up and did a wonderful job. It was a great experience for all of us and I LOVED my hair. Jade and her staff accommodated our every request and I truly felt special in every sense of the word. And in comparison with some of the other salons I had looked at, this was by far the best value for what you are getting. I even had Cori cut my hair after the wedding as I was so impressed with her and the salon. You will not go wrong with selecting Salon de Solace.

This was my very first experience trying on wedding dresses. I had told my mom before we went in that I had no intention on buying a dress the first day that I was shopping. This was before they moved into their new location, so it was a little crowded with dresses inside. But I immediately felt at ease with Marissa. I had filled out the on-line questionaire and Marissa asked even more questions to narrow down what I was looking for. I was very specific with her about my budget and she was very careful to only select dresses within my price point. We took 10 dresses into the fitting room, with the last selection from their sample rack. That dress ended up being the first I tried on and even though it was opposite of everything I thought I wanted, I fell in love. That became the dress to beat. In the end, I bought the dress and the fact that it was off of the sample rack (at a sample price) was the icing on the cake. They recommended many different people to do alterations and I chose Jennifer Hyatt to do the minor repairs that the dress needed. She was awesome by the way - would HIGHLY recommend her for any and all repairs you might need and certainly for the fit. I have been back to Camarillo Bridal many times since for other items. Because I bought my dress on the first visit, I received a discount on everything else I bought from them going forward - didn't matter that I bought a sample. I ended up getting my veil from there, the bridesmaid's gifts and also had my shoes dyed there. Every time I was in there, they treated me as if I were a VIP customer. My experience was great and I would go back there in a heartbeat.

I highly recommend Skiff's cakes. When I called to make an appt. they were very flexible on days and times. I brought a picture that I had found in a magazine and fallen in love with. Steve explained that while they use buttercream instead of fondant, they could definitely duplicate the look of the cake. The cake itself was delicious ... I had originally thought that we were going to pick something like chocolate or red velvet, but our forks kept going back to the white cake with fudge buttercream filling. As a side note, my friends ordered a cake for my bridal shower from Skiff's, without knowing that that was where the wedding cake was from and picked the red velvet, which was definitely my second choice. I have to say on the day of the wedding, they did not disappoint. The cake was beautiful and just like the picture! And even though we had over ordered on the cake in order to comfortably save the top layer - every bit of the other layers were eaten. In the end we didn't end up saving the top layer, it was way too tempting sitting in the fridge the next day. Even my mother, who is very traditional, got out her fork when we opened the cake box. I found the price to be very reasonable incomparison with other vendors I had looked at and they definitely delivered what they had committed to. We look forward to ordering a cake next year with them to celebrate our first anniversary!
