My Wedding Blooms was my wedding day florist last September at my wedding in Santa Monica. Kerim was easy to work with and communicated easily over e-mail, phone or in-person. The price was just right. The wedding day set-up was very smooth. And the flowers were breathtaking and beautiful! Had my interaction with My Wedding Blooms ended on my wedding day I would be easily giving it 5 stars.
I contacted Kerim immediately after the wedding and asked him how I could preserve my beautiful bouquet. He offered to handle the preservation for me with a company he worked with in Texas (who I unfortunately contacted later and they warned me that Kerim was a flake when it comes to this). We were about to leave for my honeymoon and my husband dropped off the bouquet with him. I told Kerim that we would only sporadically check our e-mail while in Europe. After we got back from the honeymoon I could not get Kerim to call me back at all. To make a long story short, I ended up taking Kerim to small claims court. He initially didn't show at the first hearing and the lenient judge granted an extension. Then at the second hearing he straight up LIED to the judge and I could not rebut. He said that he asked my husband for a deposit when he dropped off the bouquet and that since my husband did not give him money he did not proceed with the preservation and, thus, my bouquet died. He never asked my husband for the deposit. But the judge believed him and he won.
What the judge did not let me explain was if Kerim asked my husband for the deposit, and my husband supposedly did not give the deposit, why did he go ahead and take the bouquet from my husband?????? We had paid him cash for our wedding day flowers -- would we really have not given him the $100 deposit had he really asked for it? The truth is that he didn't ask for the deposit until he e-mailed us when we were already in Europe for our honeymoon. When he didn't immediately hear back from us he just decided to let my bouquet die. He never returned my calls and the only way I could elicit a response from him was by suing him.
Like I said, Kerim and this company do great work as florists. But my post-wedding day experience with him was so horrible. Should you run into problems with him Kerim might not call you back. I do not like putting up bad reviews but I wanted to share my experience with this florist with the general wedding-planning community. Take it for what it's worth.

Danny was the DJ at my Santa Monica wedding in September 2007. He was fun, energetic and overall FANTASTIC! We didn't have a wedding coordinator but Danny easily took control and made the night flow smoothly -- entertaining our mix of Filipino and Jewish guests ages 3 to 80 years-old and everyone in-between. My husband and I didn't provide Danny with a laundry list of songs but rather a general idea of what we would like to hear and dance to. He did a great job reading the room and the energy. He had 25 year-olds dancing to the classics and 60-somethings dancing to hip hop. Our guests couldn't believe that the playlist wasn't planned beforehand!
Another super thing about Danny was that he was easy to communicate with and very quick with replies. Knowing that my DJ was there to answer all my semi-bridezilla questions was really comforting because other vendors sadly sucked at this.
The videographer in Danny's company did the video for the wedding. It was something we sort of added if the budget permitted. Thank goodness we did because the video looked great and we were able to see so many of the things that we missed out on while we were busy with the whole process of getting married :)
I've already recommended Danny to friends and acquaintances and he will be the DJ at one of my co-workers' upcoming wedding. I just wish I had another big party to plan so Danny could dj for us again!
