My husband suggested that I call his absolute favorite bakery to see if they did wedding cakes. I was positive that they would be just as expensive as any other bakery, but when the girl on the other end of the phone told me $200 for a 3-tiered cake to fee 125 people! I asked her if she was sure and she said, yes unless you want to add fondant and I think she said it was an extra $50. They only charge $25 for delivery fee! I scheduled an appointment to come in and pick out a cake. I was confidant though with everything else we had from there that it would be delicious.. I picked out a very basic design because I really didn't want anything too fancy. The day of the wedding the cake was great! It as not an exquisite cake, but I knew that going into it.. I didn't want that.. I wanted something delicious and that is exactly what we got.. the top layer was pineapple filled and was a complete dream! The Dulce de Leche and Peach layer was fantastic as was the dulce de lecha and strawberry as well... Some of our friends even brought cake home!! They were very courteous and on top of everything!
When I originally began my planning I had stumbled across the JCC but because of their requirement of being a business owner in the Town of Jupiter, I was quickly deterred. I booked my wedding at the Delray Beach Golf Club. When my husband and I were forced to re-evaluate our finances for the wedding, we found ourselves looking for a facility that we could rent out. We stumbled upon the JCC again and I began looking for someone who had a business that could sponsor me. I was very lucky to have a co-worker who was one. I actually ended up at that point having to wait approx. 2 months to book the civic center because they did not open up the next calendar year for bookings until about the middle of the year. This was particularly stressful for me but I ensured that I was an hour early that day and waited outside the Town of Jupiter building in a line with several others who were also looking to book it. (Word to the wise.. the dates fill up VERY QUICKLY!) I do however think the town should consider renting to individuals in the town of Jupiter as well. I realize that it is a liability, but perhaps charge them a higher price for the use? Just something to consider! With that said, we found the Civic Center the morning of the wedding in great shape. The chairs were stacked neatly (which we used for the ceremony) and the tables were all put away. There were plenty of extension cords, ladders, and other tools for our use. The bathrooms were clean and fully stocked. We found all of the appliances were operational and in good condition. All in all, I would say we had a fantastic experience with the JCC and it truly made our wedding what it was: Intimate, Romantic, and beautiful!

So, I had been searching and searching for a vendor for chairs.. I just wanted to get basic folding chairs. After talking to my friend over at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, she sent me a list of vendor prices she had received and Panache was one of them. I was able to get Natural colored wooden folding chairs for $1.10 a piece. This was half the price of everyone else. I called to discuss delivery .. the price for delivery seemed fair, until I realized that if I needed them there by a specific time it was an additional price. And if I needed them picked up at a specific time, it was also an additional price. They wanted to charge me MORE Than the actual rental just in delivery fees.. This I found to be RIDICULOUS! So, since I have a truck and our BM had a truck.. we picked them up ourselves. My friend who lives down the street from our reception venue allowed me to store the chairs in her garage till the day of the wedding (this was because we could not bring anything into the JCC until the day of) So the morning of the wedding.. The chairs themselves were in decent shape.. It probably wouldn't hurt to give them a good sanding and maybe a new coat of stain.. but they worked perfectly and the color fit in with the surroundings which was the old wooden feel of the Jupiter Civic Center.
So.. after being on the knot for a while and listening to everyone's recs on photographers I was at a loss.. I could not find a photog who could work with my budget... I contacted several photogs who had been reccomended within the price range I asked and none of them seemed to be able to work with my budget.. Soo after several suggestions from others.. I turned to Craigslist.. I know it seems like you would find something crazy on there.. but I didn't.. I was EXTREMELY lucky.. After searching Craigslist for a few days... I contacted several photographers.. many of them had sites that I was able to look at and I unfortunately found some of their work lacking.. I stumbled upon a ad for Devyn (of which I later found out she only ever actually posted a small amount of... so it was fate!) I took a look at her website and liked the pictures... I also asked around if anyone had heard of her and no one responded... I was a little curious so I emailed her. She quickly replied and asked to meet me in person. I was very hesitant to do this.. I hadn't met with any photographer and very few vendors in person yet because I was so afraid that no one could work with my budget. I chatted with her on the phone and discovered that she had relocated to FL from Canada and moved her entire business due to her husbands work re-location. This made me extremely nervous and quite honestly.. I did not think I was going to book her. It was not until I finally agreed to meet her in person that I fell in love with her and her work. It was like chatting with a long lost friend whom I hadnt seen in forever. I felt extremely at ease with her and this was extremely important to me. My DH does not like having his picture taken and I explained to her that he was going to be difficult to work with. I also explained to her that half of my family does photography as hobbies and some looking to break into the business.. I knew that I would need someone who could make sure everyone was focused on her and not the other cameras... She was so reassuring and was willing to work with my budget as well as the ability to make payments to her for her work. Not only did she work with me financially, but she included SOO much in my package.. She included Engagement pics, Budoir pics, Bridal Shower, and the wedding. I could pass this up. At that point I was debating the idea of using another photographer whom I had worked with in the past but for the same price only was giving me the coverage the day of the wedding. After I booked Devynn, we set an appt for my Engagement Pics. Nick and I met her at John Prince Park in the middle of summer sweating beyond belief and began our first shoot with her. She was able to keep Nick's attention and focus admirably.. I was confident she was able to capture shots I had only hoped for. She was able to get him to smile, to interact and really go along with everything.. for that I am forever grateful because he really hates having his picture taken! After seeing the results of our E-pics I knew this was going to be a great vendor. I immediately raved about her to everyone on the knot and began responding to inquiries from other brides on budgets like mine.. I worked with her again for my Bridal Shower.. I wanted to have someone there to take photos so that no one else really had to worry about taking pictures, she was able to do just that. She captured emotions, moments, and details that I never thought we would see again.. After some consideration, I also decided to do Boudoir pics as well... I am a larger girl so fo course I wwas a bit nervous about the whole thing but she quickly put myself and a friend of mine who did them as well at ease. In the end, I could barely recognize myself in some of the photos.. I never thought of myself in that way and quite honestly she was able to capture things about myself that I never thought I would see.. It was definitely a realization point for myself as to truly thinking that I was beautiful, regardless of my size. Even my husband was thrilled with his album and was 'expressive' lol about the pictures.. (he is not one to comment on things unless he feels strongly about something) Prior to the wedding, I spoke with Devynn endless times just for banter, sometime for details, and sometimes for advice... IT was like having a friend the whole way.. I spoke to her one evening about possibly setting up a photobooth.. I have all of the equiptment minus the backgrounds and I was contemplating doing this. Devynn and I came to an agreement on price and added it to my package. She supplied everything including the person to take the photos .. The day of the wedding, not only was the photobooth a hit, but Devynn herself. Everyone thought she was fantastic... You didnt even realize she was there... In the end my photos are amazing... I have to say that She was by far the best money I spent on my entire wedding.. Not the dress, the rings, the food.. nothing beat the value I received from her and her work.. I am forever grateful to her for her willingness to help a Budget Bride.
Our reception took place at the Jupiter Civic Center. If you book the center, the town of Jupiter allows you to use the beach. When we originally booked, the beach in front of it was unbelievably gorgeous. However, Mother Nature was working against us, and when we visited again almost a week before our wedding, the beach was different! Because of erosion, so much sand was lost! We made it work though (mostly in part because of our planner!) The beach was beautiful, but definitely busy with patrons. The beach however was very clean, and well taken care. I do suggest anyone getting married on the beach looking into the use of a sound system as your guests will be unable to hear you over the sound of the waves.
Because our groomsmen were coming from all over the country, we needed a national chain that they could visit their local store and get fitted for their tux, which would be delivered to our local store here in Palm Beach. I found a coupon online that they all were able to use and save on their tux and ensemble. They all looked very dashing in their tuxes. One slight glitch that occurred was that my brother's tux came in 3 days before the wedding. I was unaware of this, but our planner took care of it for us, and my brother was able to get his tux in perfect condition the day before! PHEW!
We had spent a few weeks looking for the right invitations to send out, and we kept coming up short (wrong color, didn't like the design, didn't go with our theme, price too high). I visited our Michaels one day to pick up some scrapbooking materials, and I walked through the wedding aisle just to see what they had. My eye immediately was drawn to their invitations, and I saw exactly what we were looking for. We had to print our information ourselves, but the paper and design and quality was exactly what we wanted! For 5 boxes of invitations with the coupon I had, our invitations cost us less than $60!!

I told my Maid of Honor and 3 bridesmaids that I wanted them to select their own dresses to wear for my wedding. My bridesmaids all purchased their beautiful dresses online from Netbride.com, and they were very happy with everything. Not only did they find their dress there for a lot less than what they saw everywhere else, but they all said that they received their dress earlier than expected. My girlfriend even said that she had to return the dress because I ended up not liking the color, and they were more than happy to help her out.

I visited their bridal store after my horrid experience at David's Bridal, and I felt relieved and in better spirits after I left. I did find a beautiful dress there, but I ended up not purchasing my wedding gown from them. They did provide me with such wonderful service though!

My experience with the David's Bridal in West Palm Beach was absolutely horrific!!!! Their customer service/salespeople totally suck; they are completely unprofessional and don't give a damn about anyone. I have actually sent complaints to the David's Bridal corporate office, as well as the Better Business Bureau! Stay away from this store! If I could give them ZERO stars, I would!
