This is a great place to go for authentic Greek food, and it’s a great atmosphere for a family rehearsal dinner. I have been to rehearsal dinners at really fancy restaurants before, places that weren’t child-friendly and we’re really expensive. I wasn’t going to ask my guests to pay for their own meals, and I wasn’t going to ask them to leave their kids at home: I have my own daughter! Greek Island is possible the best family restaurant in Indianapolis! Not only do you get really big portions of delicious food, but the atmosphere is fun. The staff was incredible, and the chef even stepped out of the kitchen to congratulate us on our upcoming wedding. We have a lovely time, and we will go back.

This really was the reception of my dreams. I think most people have been to the Scottish Rite Cathedral and can speak of how beautiful it is. We went on a tour of the rooms with the manager, Ashely, and I loved all the rooms. I would have loved to have had enough friends and family to fill up the Ballroom! The South Lounge was perfect for the size of our party, which was almost 190 people. There room is just stunning, there is a marble floor and it just looks beautiful. It is hard to rent, because it is in high demand for wedding and proms and other formal events, so we booked it almost two years in advance. Ashely was wonderful, it’s obvious that she knows what she’s doing, has lots of experience, and really loves the place she works.

My fiancé did an online search for where to get his suits. I told him that Posie-Patch, the bridal store where I got my dress, had suits but he wasn’t interested in getting a suit from a bridal shop. His best friend told him to go to MW Tux, and offered to drive them, and he was surprised to find that they were going to a Men’s Wearhouse. In the end it worked out, because he said that Men’s Wearhouse on Crawfordsville Road had a great selection of tuxedos to choose from, and the staff was really nice. The other thing that helped out was that his brother could just drive to the Men’s Wearhouse near his own home and get his matching suit there.

Kiralee was perfect! I found out her information from another woman who had gotten married where I work, and I liked the idea of having a make-up artist that would come on site. I think Kiralee was wonderful, she was nice and friendly and she did an incredible job applying my make-up. I remember that she had all these brushes and tubes of make-up, but that I ended up looking very natural and vibrant. She has great energy, too! I think she is really popular and in high demand, so I booked her months and months in advance. Her rates are per person, but she did my daughter’s make-up for free.

I was really surprised when my husband proposed to me. We had been dating for over two years, but I had a daughter from a previous relationship and didn’t know if he wanted to marry someone with a child. I never mentioned marriage to him, so it was a big shock when he proposed to me in front of my daughter during one of our usual Friday night dinners. He had a beautiful ring for me, really classic looking. The sweetest thing was that he also got a small pendant made for my daughter, with our three birthstones on them. I loved that my husband was committed to both me as a husband and to being a father to my daughter. I bugged him about where he got the jewelry from, and he finally said that he went to Kays because that’s where his mother suggested. I loved my ring! We went back in the following week to look at wedding bands, and the staff was great. They have really beautiful jewelry, and they have a great selection, too.

I want to give Costco 5 stars because we were able to get really high quality wedding invitations and save the date invitations here for much less than anywhere else. My mother-in-law had suggested a few brands of cards that she recommended, and I was actually able to find the brand names she liked at Costco. They take care of the printing, too, and they will even offer to deliver the cards for you. The hardest part was getting the wording right, but they even have templates and samples of what a ‘good’ wedding invitation will say. We got everything from Costco, invitations, RSVP cards, save the date cards, and we even got our joint bachelor party cards here. We saved about 30% off the cards we wanted by getting them at Costco and not at a typical bridal invitation shop. I loved that I was able to save time and money, and that I was still able to please my mother-in-law.

We picked this place because it was close enough to the reception venue that most guests could get a quick cab ride here after the reception. We also had our wedding night here, which was nice because we were also close to our guests. We chose this place because it was a suite, meaning that for those guests coming from out of town they could be in a place that felt more homey. The rooms have a kitchen, which was great for those guests that have kids and could make meals in the rooms. For us, it was great having all the extra room for our wedding gifts. The Homewood Suites are owned by the Hilton, so we had excellent customer service and the place was really nice. Everything in all the rooms felt new, and it’s nice to stay in a place that is fancier than your own home.

I think that the staff did a great job at helping me choose a floral arrangement that was just perfect for me. I really walked in there with both my fiancé and my mother-in-law knowing nothing about flowers and arrangements. I am still really impressed with all the different ideas they had! I had a lovely cascading bouquet, which looked like a waterfall of flowers. My daughter had a sweet, smaller bouquet, and then all the best men had great flower pins that matched my own bouquet. My mother-in-law had more of a say in what the centerpieces would look like, and they looked great. The centerpieces were fresh and full of flowers, it looked just great. We also had a great variety in they styles: some were in vases and in bowls, and it was a great mix that all tied in together.

I have a young daughter and it was very important to me to make her feel special during the dress shopping trip. I think the funniest thing was that when I brought my four-year-old to the boutiques she was really scared and didn’t like the staff members. She does love Sears. I also love Sears for children shopping because the clothes are of excellent quality, they last, and its really affordable. It was my daughter who suggested we go to Sears. There were lots of first communion dresses for her to choose from, pretty formal dresses, and the prices were amazing! I felt comfortable letting her “choose” her own dress. And the staff was amazing! There was an older salesperson working in the children’s section, and she spoke to my daughter, not at my daughter, which shows they she had skills with working with children. My daughter looked lovely at the wedding, and for the price we paid it doesn’t matter if she doesn’t wear the dress again.

I had already been wedding dress shopping once in my life, so I had a good idea of where I wanted to get my dress. There are bridal stores that are more fancy than Posie-Patch, but they Posie-Patch has really great sales on dresses. I made an appointment and explained that I wanted a dress that was one sale. The consultant was great about helping me look through the sale rack. We found a dress that was beautiful but 2 sizes too big, but the staff said there would be no problem with the alterations. I got a $900 dress for less than $200, and even with the alteration it was a great deal. I liked how the staff was honest with me and worked with me to get what I wanted. Also, I went by myself, which I think is the best suggestion if you really want to seriously dress shop.
