Yes, My Wedding cake cost less then sixty bucks. It certainly did not look it. I purchased a beautiful three tier server from an on line merchant for 35 dollars. It had hanging "crystals" and a silver plated look to it. Instead of Buying a three or four tier wedding cake for a minimum of three hundred dollars, I stopped in and spoke to my local baker at Food lion n 210 in Benson. She was Thrilled at the idea. She took all my info and carefully wrote down how I wanted the cake to look. The woman who was to decorate the cake was so excited at this prospect that she called my the day before my wedding to get any more ideas and info. I ordered two chocolate cakes and two white cakes, with a fuifth cake to be cut down and place on to of one of the layers. At the HAll I then placed each cake on the stand in a staggered position and it looked terrific. It looked as good as something I might have paid a couple of hundred for. Plus now I have a cake/serving stand for any other function I may have in the future, and a heirloom to pass to down the line.

Great Web Site to get a lot of nice decorations. I used Them along with Oriental Trading and found some really nice items. I did not want everything white, but instead went with ivory and had a terrific color scheme.
Stop thinking that if it doesn't come from a bridal store or an expensive craft place it can nto be nice. Too many brides don't think. If it doesn't say bridal then they can not use it. I purchased Gold christmas ball candles, after Christmas for 75 % off and took off the top of the "christmas ball"...now I was left with a sparkely, gold open candle, that matched my wedding decor perfectly. It was a great find and I was able to put candles on every table for less then five bucks.

We had a do-it-your-self wedding. THe ceremony and the reception site were the same. THE manger/owner Sandy is very nice but a stickler for detail. I was allowed to do just about anything I wanted as long as I did not permanently mar the floors or walls. That part was great. We used fun tak stuff to decorate. At the end of the night everything has to be in a specific place. EVerything. Chairs must be stacked in rows of seven, five high, (or the other way around - I forget). Certain tables go here, and others there, in a specific pattern. THat part was a bit excessive. Floor mopped and such was the norm. She really puts pressure on you to clean everything up just so and we had to do it under her watchful eye. Would have perferred to do it an then call her for inspection.
Whe you have a wedding like this you know you will have to clean up - have enough folks to do so. Our went well but I believe that people have problems when when don't have enough help.
This was by far the nicest place of it's kind in the Johnston/wake area. THe lighted Ficus tree looked great. THanks!

Located out of Benson, NC this man was very nice but not the world best DJ. He had a bit of trouble with the Fade button and that did get on my nerves.. but, as far as music quality and a great sound system, he was great. I think I should have been more specific on what I wanted played, so it was probably my fault. VEy Personable and professional.

I order Fresh baked Rolls and Boars Head Cold cuts for about a hundred people. Everything was wonderful. I gave Donna my trays tha tI wanted the items on and she made everythign look terrific. I had other food at the wedding also but I wanted some meats and cheese for those who wanted a sandwich type snack. I did not want just any cold cut, so I ordered Boear Head. It was more a expensice but far better tasting then anything you can get at Food Lion.
