CC's boutique was not my best experience as a professional bridesmaid which I have become over the past year. With that said, I won't be referring any newlyweds to CC's any time soon. Let's just start with customer service. My initial conversation with a CC's rep on the phone truly set the stage for what was to come. I called in to order my bridesmaid dress that the bride had picked out. I had a measuring tape in one hand and the size chart open on the computer during my call. Please mind you I am a very small frame (typically a size "0" in most cases). When I spoke to the rep and requested she order the size 2 (the smallest size made by that dress company), she hesitated and told me that I should come in to be measured as if she did not believe I was the size I stated to be. So, I took time off work to go in to be measured and once measured- SURE ENOUGH, size 2!!! Dress was ordered, and I was on my way.
Next, I went in to pick up the dress when it arrived over a month prior to the wedding day- fit great! It just needed a minor hem and a small side stitch to tighten up the strapless top that I so desperately need help filling out. She originally quoted the bride $35 for alterations on the bridesmaid dresses. Well, my invoice, on a well-fitting dress came to $50 without pressing. OK, so what the heck, what's an extra $15 dollars on an already $200 dress (with the generous 10% discount given to the bride upon ordering), no big deal. I paid, and again went on my merry way. The bride on the other hand was quoted $175 for alterations on her gown, but when the dress came in, the invoice was $480 almost half of what she paid for the entire dress)- CRAZY! Needless to say, she took her gown elsewhere and had the same alterations done for under $200.
One month later and 3 days before the wedding day, no call from CC's. I tried to reach them during their business hours for a day, but it just kept ringing, and ringing and ringing. Next day, called and reached someone who needed to check and see if the dress was ready, really- 3 days before the wedding, you need to check if the dress is ready? Well, she called me back an hour later letting me know the dress had been finished and was ready for pick up. When I told her that I could not pick it up that day, and I was sending my husband, she said he would have to call prior to picking it up to make sure someone was available to bring the dress down to him. Whatever they want, let's just get this over with. He was kind enough to pick up the dress as I do not want to waste another minute of my time in that factory of a "bridal boutique."
The moral of the story is customer service here. This was not my best experience. I wish it could have been better, but unfortunately it was not. I do not recommend this store to anyone looking to get married, and bridesmaids, don't expect the red carpet to be rolled out. You might as well take a number at the door upon entering just like you do at the DMV. They are looking to roll you in and out as quickly as possible. The best advice I can give is go to Malindy Elene just down the street to be treated right.
