One of the websites we used when we were planning our wedding was Wilton Print. I’m sure a lot of you are familiar with Wilton. They have many items that are tied into party planning. From various favors, do it yourself invitations, and cake making, to a seasonal idea section. They even had an etiquette guide so you can look up what’s proper and not during your wedding planning. On Wilton you can order supplies, find vendors who sell them, and even find templates to match the items you purchased. Overall Wilton is a great site and their customer service is helpful. The only down fall is you need to edit the templates a little bit and practice before printing. You can’t just type and print and have your labels match up perfectly. So, please make sure you have extra paper to practice on just in case. We made our own wedding invitations, favors, and place cards. To some this may seem frugal but to many other’s it’s more personal. It did save us money but it also added our personal style and taste to the items we created. My future husband even helped along the way.

When my husband and I got married we were married out of state. We wanted a unique and personal wedding with just a few close friends with us. We choose to get married on a yacht out on the Chesapeake Bay. We both love the water, boating, and anything to do with the ocean. The only problem…we are the ones who were getting married and neither of us can captain a yacht. That was a minor set back. We found out about C&C Charters and are so glad we did. We used a friend’s yacht but if you don’t have that luxury C&C also has yacht’s they charter out. We had a great captain! The staff has a ton of skills and certifications. You are responsible for fuel costs and added expenses but its well worth it if you love the water or are looking for a nice honeymoon spot. My only complaint is that I wish we would’ve spent more money for more time on the water. I can honestly say my husband and I will be saving money for a future anniversary and this time we will be making it a weekend trip.

Kreiser’s Katering is a wonderful service to use for any caterering needs. They specialize in exquisite luncheons but also cater for other events. We used them for our wedding reception. I was pleased. They’ll sit down and work out and affordable and tasteful meal plan with you. We choose a buffet style and allowed everyone to choose what they wanted that way. There was even enough left for everyone to go back up for a second round of food if they would’ve wanted too. They provide plates and silverware too. Believe it or not that was a big down fall with some other companies. Other companies wanted us to rent silverware and plates from subcontracted companies or provide them ourselves. If you are doing a buffet style please make sure you have containers to save any leftovers you may want too. I was mad at myself later for not doing that and realized how much food we wasted and that it could’ve feed more people.
Some items we had were Stuffed chicken breasts, carved ham, roasted green beans, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, rolls and salads. The arrived promptly at the time we had set up so things were ready in advance. They kept in touch with us frequently. Deb the owner who was there on our special day was even helping us remember how to do the electric slide. Give them a call. I couldn’t find a website and assume there isn’t one for them. I know we couldn’t find one when we looked for our wedding. I recommend these fun and professional caterers.

Annie’s is a wonderful Steak and Seafood restaurant. It’s more upscale and higher end. They offer a sport’s lounge section that’s more casual if you are looking for a casual meal with a less expensive menu. The also offer a dinning area. Annie’s has had numerous awards including the Wine Spectator award of Excellence in 2006, 2007, and 2008. They recently started offering catering services and expended banquet services. If you aren’t from Maryland or Kent Narrows is too far for you and your guest to travel Annie’s also has a small section of there items on their mail order form. You can even pay through paypal. I recommend Annie’s for anyone getting married in Queen Anne’s county Maryland. The service was wonderful and the food was exceptional. It is a little pricey but it is well worth the cost and portion size you will receive. This is a restaurant everyone should try at least once in their lifetime.

If you’re looking to purchase jewelry or a gift for your spouse to be then try Kay’s. I’ve been a long time customer of Kay’s and have several items from there. Most of the employees have been extremely helpful and friendly. They have a broad selection of items and the policies they have in place are good. They offer free cleanings on your jewelry and inspections free. If you need repairs you will have to pay out of pocket if you don’t have the warranties on your jewelry so I highly recommend getting the warranty on all items. Don’t forget to take them in for cleanings and expections every 6 months so your warranties don’t lapse. Most local chains have gone out of business with the economy the way it has been. Kay’s has been in business for years and is steady with there sales. Check Kay’s out before going to some other jewelers.

Looking for a nice location to hold a bridal shower or a wedding reception? We had ours at the East Hanover Township building. The location is nice for around 50 guests and under though you can probably fit a few more. They have a separate kitchen area were you can prep food for your gathering. The down side for some people would be you have to have a dry reception or a “dry” party since no alcohol is allowed at the building. You also need to set up and clean up for your party yourself. Unless you hire an outside company or have family help to set up. There is a stage area that is great either for the head tables or for a DJ to set up. There’s plenty of room to dance as well. Its priced great compared to other venues though you will have a little more prepping to do here. I recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxed environment for bridal showers, baby showers, and birthday party locations as well. It’s not the fanciest place to go but with your own personal touches and some creativity you can transform the location into a very nice wedding reception location.
Do you want a good place to go to make a wedding registry? Bed Bath and Beyond was a first stop for us. As soon as we walked in the door and mentioned we were there to fill out a wedding registry we were treated like a VIP. I was honestly was shocked by this. Maybe it was just our lucky day but may maybe that is how they always are. We were greeted politely, offered something to drink including soda or water during our time there that day. We were given instructions along with a package on what to look for and what newlyweds usually need. After the scanner was set up were able to go off on our own. We were even offered personal assistance from one of the employees. We told them we appreciated it and declined this offer. She was available for help if we needed her and periodically checked back with us during our venture through the aisles. Not only was scanning fairly easy to do but the selection they offer is great. They even give you registry cards free to put in with your invitations and store your information online for up to a year later. This is a great thing for anniversaries as well. You can even update your registry and create it online if you don’t want to go in the store. If there is a big celebration coming up or you are wondering where to go when you are married years from now and your items are in need of updating go to Bed Bath and Beyond. They surely didn’t disappoint us. In fact they exceeded my expectations. Out of all the registries I’ve ever created they had the best customer service and truly made me feel important and not like this was another chore on my wedding to do list.

Are you getting married in Maryland? If so look for William A. Potts. He’s a
Non-Denominational minister that’s friendly and really seems to care about the people he marries. We are not very religious and wanted someone that would allow and respect our decision not to have religious aspects brought up in the wording of our vows and ring exchange. We were worried about writing them ourselves but he found vows similar to what we were looking for and allowed us to customize them to fit us better. He had a great personality and was easy to talk to and get in touch with. He even dressed to fit the style of our wedding. We were married on a yacht and Reverend Potts looked almost like a captain. He really made us feel better about being married and even tried calming my pre wedding jitters.

When my husband and I got married we were traveling out of state. We choose to order our flowers locally so we could see them in person before our wedding. The staff at Stephenson’s was helpful. I choose to make my own bridal bouquet and centerpieces. We had our reception after we came back from being married two weeks later. The staff was great in assisting me in how to make my arraignments look professional. They gave me instructions on how to make my flowers hold up during our traveling out of state with them. The associate even picked the flowers that were going to hold up best for the trip. If I need flowers again for anything I’ll be going back to them. The experience with Stephenson’s was a pleasant one for us.

If you are looking for a great place to get wedding favors that you can make yourself then this is the place to go! Selection varies from time to time but the items are of high quality and reasonably priced. They offer frequent sales and if the items are not on sale at the time you go you can take in a store coupon or competitors coupon to use on one of your items. When we got married we bought little glass bottles with cork tops on them. We were able to buy all the supplies we wanted at one store to fill them. We choose sand and mini colored seashells to fit with our wedding theme. The rest of what we needed was in the glass bottle kit. It included thin white ribbon and labels that you can print out on your computer. The even sell other wedding supplies. They have flower girl baskets and ring bearer pillows, veils, guest books and champagne flutes. You can also get wonderful ideas and items for bridal showers. If you are a do it yourselfer and want to personalize your wedding a little more then this is one of the first places I suggest checking out.
