The spa is part of the Hyatt. Aside from the mediocre manicure I got, the spa day we booked was incredible. We booked a honeymoon spa package consisting of 2 massages, a facial for me and a scalp massage for him. My massage was so amazing, she even did the Thai massage on me. (That’s when they move you into some yoga like positions). DH had a bad sunburn and they put something on him that took the sting right out. His scalp massage was incredible and my facial was fantastic. I highly recommend the Moana Spa!

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. I was 10 minutes late so they told us they could not do both mine and my mother’s nails. Of course, they never mentioned how strict their time schedule is when I booked or when I called them an hour before to get directions. They had absolutely no remorse about it either. However, they had time to cut DH’s hair. Go figure. I would never recommend these people to anyone. How can you just not care that you’re refusing an appointment for a wedding?
Our coordinator picked up all of our guest leis from Alli the day of the wedding. They were a lot less expensive than going through the hotel, and the flowers were so fresh and beautiful.

While the rooms are beautiful, the hotel is quite expensive. We did not win at all when gambling but it was a good time anyway. The room service was a fortune and we had a fight with management over the bill. It took a long time before I went back there.

The hotel was beautiful. The grounds were gorgeous and the birds they had all around were stunning. The staff was mostly very nice. However, I have some issues with the hotel. When we checked in, we were given a hard sell about upgrading to a more expensive room. Finally he told us he would give us a complimentary upgrade and that we would have a complimentary bottle of champagne because it was our honeymoon. I explained we were getting married there in 2 days. Our room was in the back of the hotel right next to the Luau. How is that an upgrade? We spoke to someone else who moved us the next day into a beautiful room. We had to ask for our “complimentary” bottle of champagne 4 times. Finally I spoke to a manager about it and we did get it the night before we left. The day after we checked out, we were charged nearly $300 and when I called them, they couldn’t find what it was for. They did reverse the charges 2 weeks later. This is how they treat people marrying in Hawaii and someone who is a member of their “Gold Passport” program? After we got home I wrote a letter to the manager of the hotel. He sent us a voucher for one night's stay that we could use at any Hyatt. We did use it for our one year anniversary. I'm sorry to say I can't strongly recommend the hotel.
I have no words other then delectable. This cake was so good yet so light. I was amazed. And Heidi is an absolute life saver. I called her the day before the wedding and I was frantic because I forgot my cake-top in NY. She was able to find some beautiful flowers that fit us perfectly! Her prices are very reasonable and her designs are fabulous! However, like anyone in the wedding business, if you tell her this cake is for a wedding, she will charge you more. Because our wedding was casual and close to a holiday, we just asked for holiday decorations for the cake.
The food here was unreal. The Maui Revealed book says they might be the best restaurant on Maui and I have to agree. The food was delicious and they had a fantastic selection of wines. They made me a special dish because of my special diet without batting an eye. Everything everyone had was delicious! I explained that my brother is a chef in NY and they happily took him on a tour of the kitchen. I guess it’s a chef thing. Anyway, the service was superb. It is an open air restaurants so our friends with wings do make an appearance. I freaked out a little bit about that but the staff saw to it that “visitors” were promptly removed. I am forever grateful for that. You will not go wrong with dinner here. If you can, try to make reservations for sunset. They face the beach and the view is something else.

Linda Santos was awesome. She answered any questions I had and even helped me arrange our package so that I could get the photographer I wanted. She helped distract me (by helping me search for stones for our Stone Tossing Ceremony) while my mother was having difficulty getting on the beach. She was so well prepared for the day, she had umbrellas for everyone. And boy did we need them. The one issue I do have is that I specifically requested a non-religious ceremony and they hired a religious minister to officiate. It turned out well in the end but it was a little uncomfortable for us until the ceremony began and we realized how good he was. She chose all our vendors except for the photographer and the hair and make-up person.

He really stuck it out in the rain with us. While he did need some help with making sure his equipment was covered, he seemed to have a great sense of humor about it all. The video itself failed to capture our personalities and there was plenty of personality to capture. I asked to use a specific song for the video and he did use it. However, he did not tell me I needed to choose 3 songs. He used a song of his own choosing twice. That did not make me happy.
Lashawn was awesome. He was very nice and very good about answering my questions, even though some things I asked him seemed a little out there. He is very creative and very talented. While there were certain shots I would have preferred in black and white and others in color, he did the opposite. There was some miscommunication about the length of time of his services and he really did the right thing by us. He threw in a honeymoon shoot and extra photos in our album. Our album is beautiful.
