We decided to use our two favorite restaurants as caterers for our food for our wedding since our venue didn't provide catering. For our non-vegetarian guests we decided to provide Chinese food from Golden Valley in Mesa, Arizona. We ordered the Sesame Chicken, rice and egg rolls for 150 people and the food was out of this world! The chicken was sweet without being cloying in its sesame sauce, the rice was a perfect compliment to the chicken, and the egg rolls were crispy and savory!
The food was a 5 out of 5 stars, but again, as with many of the places we used for our wedding, we had to transport the food our selves and hire servers since Golden Valley is normally just a restaurant and doesn't provide it's own catering service. But if you don't mind doing some of the catering work yourself, they have awesome food and competitive prices.

We decided to use two of our favorite local restaurants as our source of dinner for our wedding since the venue did not provide catering. Royal Taj is our favorite Indian restaurant and since we were inviting several vegetarians, we thought we should offer some savory vegetarian food at our wedding. We ordered enough Paneer Masala and garlic Naan for 50 people and figured we could keep the leftovers for ourselves. The food was so good that even our non-vegetarian friends gobbled it up and didn't leave any leftovers!
Royal Taj's food is 5 out of 5 stars. The only drawback was we had to get our own servers and transport the food ourselves because they don't actually do catering normally.

I know it probably seems incredibly tacky to get your wedding cake from a grocery store, but after dropping money for designer tuxes, handmade Renaissance gowns for the bride and attendants, venue, wedding rings, honeymoon, etc, we weren't really looking to drop $500+ for dessert for 200 people. The cakes at Bashas' were moist, tasty, and classy looking. We could choose the flavor cake we wanted, customize the fillings, and customize the floral design of the cake itself. The downside was we had to transport it to the venue ourselves, but we were able to save a lot of money on the cake. The cake may not have been as gorgeous as the ones you see in the wedding magazines, but it also wasn't ugly, so we were happy.

We worked with both the Chandler and the Tempe Arizona locations and found them to be incredibly helpful and professional. They not only helped us get the tuxes all fitted perfectly, they also recommended other local vendors who might be able to help us out. They seemd to want our day to be perfect as much as we did! I can't recommend them enough.

The site was gorgeous, the Ranch's owners and employees were helpful and friendly, and there was onsite lodgings for out of town guests. I especially loved the fact that the backdrop to our wedding pictures and ceremony were the beautiful Bulldogs buttes. All our guests commented on how beautiful the site was. The only downside to the location is they don't have an onsite wedding coordinator, so it is definitely a do-it-yourself venue (unless of course you hire an independent wedding planner). We had to contract with other companies for everything except the liquor and bartender. But we were okay with that.
