Decent prices. Excellent system allowed groom to pick suits then groomsmen to go to any location and get fitted and then pick up suit wherever was most convenient. Associates skilled in mens attire. Good understanding of appropriate dress for type of event.

Attempted to shop for wedding gown. Consultant was unpleasant, impatient and inattentive to my requests. Repeatedly brought me dresses which did not match what I wanted. Never once brought a dress which did match what I was describing. Consultant accused me of already purchasing a dress elsewhere and using her as dress-up but I did not have a dress at all yet!
Purchased wedding gown, veil and 6 bridesmaids dresses. Very polite, patient and respectful throughout shopping and selection process. No pressure to purchase. Desire to please and meet expectations of bride. Quiet and soothing atmosphere. Discount plan for multiple purchases. Over estimated dress delivery time so had dresses early rather than late. Tactful in giving feedback. Professional alterations. Only drawback: once dresses were purchased, but not yet delivered, staff were much less polite and not as respectful.

Limo arrived a few minutes early with large umbrellas to escort wedding party on a monsoon like rainy day. Patiently waited while bride and wedding party completed last touches. Professional and pleasant. Comfortable and clean vehicle. Took a wrong turn on the way to the venue even though it was marked and driver didn't notice until bride told him we were going the wrong way. Patiently waited while groom was hidden so bride could exit limo.

Newlands offers a package which takes care of almost everything. Ceremony site, reception site, food, drinks (open or not), decorations, flowers, cake, ice sculpture, photography, tuxedo rental. They offer good value for the money - it is almost impossible to coordinate everything on your own and have it look as good as they do, for that price.
The problem we had was a few things were not done the way we wanted them. These included the ice sculpture, flowers, photography, rude staff at the reception and other smaller things. For the most part these things were not noticeable to our guests so we didn't make a big deal at the time and chose to enjoy our day without a fuss.
When we complained later we were initailly treated very well then sent a letter offering another free portrait session (why would we need that when we just got wedding pictures taken?) and 2 free buffet dinners at Newlands' restaurant. We told the events manager that we still weren't satisfied and she told us rudely that we were only upset because it had rained on our wedding day and that Newlands had already done enough for us. (We got married in March so we were prepared for rain, this was not the problem!) We did not use the freebies Newlands gave us and looked into filing a Better Business Bureau complaint but found that Newlands was not a member and that there was already an outstanding complaint filed by someone else which Newlands had refused to resolve.
Had Newlands resolved our concerns they would easily have earned a 4 or 5 on the scale but due to their refusal to even attempt they received a low rating.
