Emerald at Queennsridge is an amazing venue. My husband and I fell in love with the space. The outside ceremony area is really unique and the inside reception area is a great space- I was initially concerned that it was too big, that my 50 guests would be lost in such a large area, but it ended up being a great, intimate evening and the space felt just right. When making the decision, the only drawback was the price, but to save money would have meant going to a cheaper place, and we decided that you get what you pay for and those other places looked and felt cheaper and we were willing to pay for the classy, elegant wedding that we wanted. We do not regret that at all.
The staff was very helpful throughout the process. The day of the wedding our wedding coordinator, Vanessa, was very sweet, calm and organized.. She took care of everything- when a groomsman’s button popped off right before the ceremony, she had it sewn on and back to him in no time. The bridal suite was amazing to get ready in- it was great to be at the venue and to just play all day- the hair and makeup people also really liked the space and set up. We did however, have to pay $150 to come in early (you get the 3 hours before your event for free), even though there was not anything else scheduled earlier in the day. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was great- the food was delicious (we chose the brisket- very, very tender, and the herbed chicken which had an amazing cream sauce- yum!) Also we loved that we got served the food in really beautiful presentations while everyone else got to get what they wanted at the buffet. The lighting, tables and general ambiance were lovely.
The photography was great. I had a really specific idea of what I wanted and I emailed Jesus, the photographer, certain poses, and he had the list and made sure to get every shot that day. The photos were amazing. They took over 1500 pictures of the day, and we really, really liked them. They are quite expensive to order, but that is true of most photography studios.
The only problem that we had was with the DJ, Brian, who was unprepared and made some rude/ inappropriate comments to us and at the reception. We expressed our concerns to the owners, had a meeting with everyone, and we feel that he understands what our concerns were and that it will not happen again. Just make sure that he understands exactly what you want at your reception (are you ok with being in the middle of a dance circle and having your guests come and dance with you to “She’s a Super Freak”?) and what kind of music you want played. There are other DJs that are available through his company if you do not have a good feeling when you meet him. We did not know that when we met with him.
Overall, we had an amazing wedding and are so, so happy that we chose this venue. Everyone was impressed and I have heard multiple times from guests that it was one of the best wedding they have ever been to. Everything was taken care of for us, and it was a very impressive and elegant event.
