Rather than have a regular dinner, we decided to do something special for our family members and we arranged to go on a boat tour in the Erie Canal. I had gone on the Sam Patch before with my college roommate, and I thought it was a nice way to spend the evening. The tours are nice, and we did book in advance just because we wanted to be able to go all on the same boat. It’s not that expensive, about 20 per person, and it does take a few hours.

We hired a DJ because it made the most sense to have someone professional take care of the music. I liked DJ Rob because the music choices he made were perfect. He had all these sets of music for different parts of the reception, which I thought was smart. I was so busy in the wedding planning that I didn’t really think about the music playlist, and I loved each song he played during the dinner. Really romantic songs, and songs that I hadn’t heard in so long.

We had placed small disposable cameras on each table for the guests to take pictures. They sold a huge box of the white wedding disposable cameras at Wal-Mart, and buying them in a box of 12 was much cheaper than any other options. I liked the pictures because there was some fun candid shots of our friends, and it was fun to see what other people were doing during our wedding. I also like the Hudson ave. Wal-mart better than the other Wal-Mart Supercenter in town.

I didn’t get an engagement ring, mainly because we weren’t into that. I did really like the wedding bands that they had a Kay’s Jewelers. The wedding bands ranged from simple to really fancy, and we were able to get a fairly fancy looking band for me. It took several visits, and they didn’t always have in the store what they showed online, but they also had some things in the store that they no longer showed online. It was a good shopping experience. I also like the fact that when we got tired of looking at rings we could just go over to the food court.

I think our invitations turned out wonderfully. We had a friend who had her invitations made here, which is why we went and checked it out. I felt that they are so creative, and Anne Maria has so many good ideas and is really good with numbers. She was able to give me a good quote once we decided what we wanted. I also loved that they always answered all my emails within the same day.

I made a special gift basket/kit for each of my bridesmaids. Because I saved so much on their dresses, I got them each a matching cute top and some hair accessories, and jewelry from Forever 21. It was fun for us all to wear matching shirts the wedding weekend. I made a budget of $100 for each girl, and I ended up spending a little bit less. There are lots of cute things, and they are pretty well made. It was fun getting things for the girls that they wouldn’t normally buy for themselves.

I was surprised that I found bridesmaids dresses at Target, but I really like the line of clothing they carry. The dresses were nicely made, and they weren’t cheap, either. I liked it because we were able to get one dress in purple, hot pink, black, and grey, all in the same style. It threw off the color scheme, but it looked cool having all the bridesmaids in the same dress but different colors.

I went to the wedding expo with high expectations, and I think my expectations were too high. I found that most people couldn’t answer my questions directly, such as “how much?”. I also though some of the fashions weren’t that modern, or frustrating that they would show $2000 dresses and think that anyone really had that kind of money. They had some interesting things to see there, I really liked the flower arrangement displays, but overall I don’t think I would go to this or recommend this show.

I didn’t think I would want something traditional until I went wedding dress shopping with my best friend. She tried on a dress and didn’t like it, but I loved it. I was so happy when she didn’t get it. Two good things about shopping at David’s Bridal is that they are open late, so I was able to bring my mother to the store after dinner and show her the dress. The other thing is that they have random sales, and I was able to get 50$ off my dress. Otherwise the store is like any other big department store.

Amazing, one of the best places in town. We had my bachelorette party here on a Thursday night because they offer free salsa dancing. I also really like the food they have here, small tapas dishes so you get to try lots of little things. It’s an amazing places, and it’s so beautiful, too. The staff is amazing, and you can easily spend and entire night here, which is what we did. Not cheap, but worth ever penny.
