I was very happy with the taste and look of our two cakes. It was nice that each tier was 4 layers high instead of the traditional 2 layers. I do feel that they are a little overpriced, but all in all it was a good experience.

We love going to Salt Lick for BBQ so we hired them to cater our wedding. Of course the food was excellent and our guests thought it was the best bbq they'd ever had. However, we were disappointed with some things. They had promised to bring their smoking pit out to the site and keep the meat smoking until the very last minute. We also wanted the smell to add to the experience. They neglected to bring the pit at all. Also, their servers refused to help clear the plates when people were done. We asked them to help because it was in our contract that they would be there an hour and a half to help clean up and they finally started to help. Lastly, it was a pain to have to rent plates and silverware because the only thing Salt Lick offers is ugly blue tin plates and plastic silverware. After voicing our concerns, the coordinator, Tana, did give us some gift certificates for the inconveniences they caused.

DS Party Rental was great and I have no complaints. If you are getting married in Dripping Springs they are great because they know the area. However, Marquee Rental is horrible. We rented from them for our rehearsal dinner and they are dishonest. When they came to pick up the items, they took other things that were not on the invoice that actually belonged to other people. When we called them to correct the problem and get our things back they claimed to not have the items. I talked to a few different people and finally after a week they found the items and delivered them back to us. The fact that they treated me like I was lying and never apologized makes me never want to go back there for any event. They are disorganized and unprofessional.
Athena is an award-winning singer songwriter who has just released her 5th album, Little Girl Dreams. I hired her and her girlfriend/background singer to do all of the ceremony music and to write an original song that I would walk down the aisle to. They had everyone in tears when they sang. Our song was beautiful and personalized and made the ceremony memorable. Athena is also recording the song they wrote and giving us a free recorded copy as well as offering as a free download on her website for our guests. Even though we had to fly them in from New York, anyone can get them to write a custom song for their wedding and not have that expense. Have Athena and Annica was one of the best things about our wedding. www.athenareich.com

I was disappointed with Westbank's service. I spent quite a long time in my initial consultation and had very detailed plans about what I wanted. When I got the quote with everything written out it wasn't what we talked about. I went back and forth with them via phone and email for a couple of months just getting them to understand what it was that I wanted and getting them to change it in writing. They were good about helping me stay under my budget, but I just think that they have so much business that they don't have enough people to give each client the attention that they need.

We rented this beautiful event center for the entire weekend of my wedding. We used it for our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception. Since they are also a B&B, they lodged almost 30 of my friends and family too. The grounds are beautiful and they are always making improvements. It was nice that they had the capacity to do all of our events outside but also had a good rain plan. We ended up having to use that plan when the winds were so strong that we had to move our cocktail hour in their pavilion. They also have a wedding coordinator, florist (we didn't end up using), and DJ on site too. They are a family that owns the place and we felt very welcomed. I highly recommend Memory Lane for any event.
Mike is the DJ that Memory Lane offers as a part of their wedding package. He helped operate the sound system for the rehearsal and ceremony and did all of the reception music. He was awesome! People kept commenting on how great the music was. He knew how to keep the party going and also took all of our suggestions and wants to heart. Even after my husband used the song "In My Life" in his vows, Mike made sure to make that song our last dance. It was very thoughtful. I would recommend Mike for any event because he does DJ at places other than Memory Lane.

I was a little shocked when everyone I asked said that they charged $300 for bridal hair. So I sucked it up and scheduled an appointment with the owner of Sophie's Garden, Lisa. I had a consultation, a trial run and over 2 hours on the wedding day for her to do my very very long hair. I will say that my hair came out beautiful. And the other girl there, Christie, did my bridesmaids' hair they looked great. Christie was really sweet, but Lisa definitely was… quirky. She snapped at my mother when she touched my hair and offended my mom quite a bit. I also had to strong-arm her into changing parts of my style to look the way I wanted it. In the end, I loved the way my hair looked, but for $300, I just can't imagine I would ever go back there. Especially after the strange experience we had with Lisa.

I was surfing the internet for invitation ideas and knew that I wanted something unique and non-traditional. I saw a design on the Wedding Diva's website and fell in love with it. I liked it so much that I based all of my wedding colors and designs on it. Our wedding cake even looked like our invitation. They have a lot to choose from, from the traditional to the modern and contemporary. You can also order do-it-yourself kits so you can print your own on their paper that is already cut to size and comes with envelopes. Another convenient service is that you can get your envelopes with your return address already printed, and if you give them your invitation list, they can print those too! It is an additional fee, but very convenient.
I know how to design things on Adobe Illustrator, so I designed some postcards for our save the dates. With vistaprint, you just email them the file and they will have them on your doorstep the next week. They are inexpensive and high quality and always have some sort of deal going. You can even order envelopes, fliers, keychains, magnets, pretty much anything you would want to send as a creative save the date. You just have to supply the file. They also have a small fee for creating something for you if you're not so savvy on Illustrator or Publisher. So that may be a cheaper option for someone who wants something custom-made.

The one convenient thing about David's is that because my entire bridal party were in different states, it was easy for us to match colors since my bridesmaids were wearing different styles of dresses. However, since the store is so huge, I felt like I was in a supermarket of dresses where people were hired without a lot of experience. I didn't feel like we got a lot of one on one attention and getting some items were difficult because the colors were discontinued. The dresses came out fine, but I felt they were overpriced for the product and the service that we received.
