We chose Savanah after our original honeymoon plan of New Orleans was shattered by Katrina. We found WH Inn online and called the innkeepers. They were polite and knowledgeable about the area. They had one suite available at a reasonable rate so wek booked it. It was $750 for the week!!! A great price. The were not a full B & B but did provide juice and homemade pastries fresh every morning. The rooms were large and decorated with period furnishing. The beds were hand crafter by a friend of the owners in South Carolina. I loved the deep clawfoot bathtub and the view of the square from our room. The location was great and we were able to walk to all of the attractions that we wanted, and when we didn’t, they would call the PediCab for us. I have only seen the Pedi-Cabs in Savannah, and thanks to the owner’s who recommended them!

I had been going to Hermitage Bakery for YEARS for their fudge pies, they are the best, but had never needed anything quite as fancy as a wedding cake before. I knew Lane, the owner, from work (I met a lot of great people through my job at the time) and asked her one day to talked about wedding cakes. I asked her if she could just come up with something simple, on a three tiered caked. I didn’t want to see it first, Lana is just someone that you trust to make things right the first time. I paid for the cake and left knowing that was one less list item to worry about, She called Saturday morning saying it was ready for pick up. My sister picked it and and I never saw it until after the wedding but it was perfect. All white with roses all over and sprinkled with decorator’s sugar. And they have the best tasting wedding cakes around!!!

This was a no-brainer. I had met the owner, Mark Harrington, on several occasions as he was friends with my boss at the time. Aside from that, Chief Rental has been known in the area for being the best home town rental and equipment place to go to for years. Therea Scarazzo, the wedding venue planner at Chief, was wonderful in her suggestions. I wanted simple and classy. She picked out two candelabras and some very simple white chairs, and some nice white ribbon accents. It was a painless process. I had my uncle and cousin pick up the chairs/candelabra. They had them ready and waiting and they are always smiling. It doesn’t hurt that Harrington isn’t hard on the eyes either! All of his staff is so helpful and they know their stuff!

If I could only give a minus 10 star rating. This was the worst flower shop I have ever dealt with. EVER. I called ordered 10 dozen white roses for pick-up the morning of my wedding. My sister and aunts were going to wrap them for the bouquets prior to the ceremony since I wanted special ribbon. I ordered kind of late, about days before my wedding. I had originally wanted no flowers, but changed my mind. I called on Friday around 1:30 to confirm that the flowers were there and was told by Jane that yes, they were in the fridge in the back and just to be there around 9:00 the next morning(MY WEDDING DAY) She also said that they were moving but that she would be in Hermitage that morning. I made sure that we were on the same page by making sure that she knew that I would be in Hermite, next door at Mane Street for my hair and she said yes, that the store wasn’t really offially moving until the next week. I pulled up in the parking lot about 8:55. I waited for a bit and went into Mane Street and got something settles. No one was at the Hermitage Florist so I called and was informed that they had decided to move the night before and close up compleltly. I started bawling on the phone and tried to explain to the owner my situation that that their employee had confirmed with me only 19 hours earlier that they would be here. I was told that my flowers were in Mt. Juliet and if I wanted then that I’d have to come get them. I didn’t have time for that so I had to call Kroger at 11:00 that morning. They got my flowers done and even though it wasn’t what I wanted they were lovely. I was very thankful to the girls at the Kroger in Hermitage by I-40. They hooked my up with only 2 hours to spare. I will never use Hermitage florist again. I never even got an apology,
My husband and I are not Christian so a minister was out of the question and going downtown to the courthouse wasn’t my style so I did some research and found that a county commissioner could officiate a wedding in their own county. I looked through the list for Wilson and I saw a familiar name- Mr. Marlowe my elementary school principal. I sent him an email and received a response back that day. We set up a meeting the next afternoon and he agreed to do it(on the condition that we promise to stay married!) He went out of his way to type up a keepsake ceremony script for us. He honored all of our request to keep religion out of the ceremony and was there 3 hours early. He did a wonderful job and it meant a lot to have my old principal there!

We were engaged in August and wanted a quick wedding. All of the other venues were either booked or way more than we could spend. A friend had suggested Cedars of Lebanon, her church group had events there and she said it was pretty. She was so right. We booked the small building right past the office. It was secluded, quant, rustic, and had everything we needed. Bathrooms, changing areas, refrigerator, counter space for the reception food and enough space for 80 charirs. The big wooden frint door made a grand entryway and the wooded back patio was perfect for photos. I plan on booking this again for my 5 year anniversary party.

I could talk forever about the service I received from Robin at Mane Street. She went ABOVE and BEYOND for me. Her receptionist had mistakenly kept my appointment with a stylist that had to leave town the morning before on an emergency. She had rebooked me for the following Saturday (completely by miscommunication and a series of uncontrolable events-not blaming her) I was supposed to be booked with Robin at 9:00 that morning. When I showed up, Robin- who I knew from my job, greeted me. I asked if she was ready for me and she looked shocked. She thought my wedding was NEXT WEEK since that was what the book said. OOPS. She cancelled all of her morning appointments and went to work on me. I need to say that I had a practice run with the other Stylist the week before and hated my hair but Robin knew just what to do. She curled, sprayed, pumped, snipped, and clipped feverishly about 35 minutes and when I turned around I almost cried. My hair was more beautiful that I had ever seen it. It was young (I was 25) and hip and stayed in place all day. Thank you again Robin!

I would have given them a 5 but we had to send my husband’s wedding band back 3 times before it was sized correctly. They had the best prices, and were actually one of the few stores to have a small simple band to match my Tiffany style engagement ring. They have great hours, a fun and young staff that really showed an interest in my needs and didn’t push other items on us like the other jewelers did. I would recommend them to anyone on a budget who want quality without a HUGE selection.

My husband and I visited American Tuxedo after deciding to actually have him in formal wear. The staff was rude and continually took phone calls while talking to us. They even stopped talking MID SENTENCE to help another client that walked in after us, who was obviously irate at them for something. The only reason we used them was that in the midst of the desk clerk walking away on us, a man, who I assume is the owner, came out and asked if we needed help. He politely showed up a few options that fit the description of the tux we wanted and we picked it out. We picked it up a week later. It fit well and my husband looked even more handsome that I imagined. I had used American Tux in High School picking out attire for my boyfriend at the time for prom and the wedding was the only time I had ever had a problem, but I would not use them again.

I have to admit, I worked here at the time of my engagement/wedding so the choice to use them was easy. Finding the right invites wasn’t so easy. I spent weeks scanning through book after book from vendors including Carlton Craft and every one else you can thing of. I just could find what I was looking for. Finally my boss suggested that I look through paper samples and said if I found something I liked he would print them there for me. After days of searching I found it. Butcher Blue card stock. It was a matte finish baby blue/white card stock with spots of varnish making it look shiny in spots. We found a design and type style and they printed them the next day.
