All the positive reviews about Mahtab are right on target. She did a beautiful job altering my dress and at a very reasonable price. Well worth the 1 1/2 drive (3 times). Made some great suggestions that I wouldn't have considered. Loved her bustle. Very sweet and easy to work with. Highly recommend!!!

Alexia Gavela was the first stop my sister and I made when shopping for my wedding dress. It's a small salon that offers a fairly good selection. After visiting several other bridal salons, I decided to return to AG to purchase my dress. The staff had been very nice and I didn't feel rushed or pressured like at some other places.

The only negative I would mention regarding my shopping experience was my communications with Alex. She was not very responsive to my phone calls and, for some reason, provided inaccurate or false information regarding the delivery of my dress, which was very frustrating. I really had to stay on top of her to get the information. Since I do not live locally, I was not able to go into the salon and speak to someone directly. Luckily, my sister was able to go to the salon and wait there until she was able to speak directly to Alex and resolve the issue. Had she not, I don't know how quickly it would have been resolved.

When I was researching my wedding invitations early in the planning process, I just fell in love with the "pocket" design. I was having a destination wedding and had a lot of information I wanted to include for our weekend celebration. I searched a lot of vendors, but couldn't find one that really fit into my budget and offered the custom design I wanted. I saw Allison Barnhill Designs (formally Handmade by Allison) mentioned on The Knot so I contacted her for a quote and told her what my vision was for my invites. Her quote was about $5 less PER INVITATION (invite, enclosures, return address printing, etc.) then other vendors I researched who provide custom pocket invitations. You can search her blog (http://handmadebyallison.blogspot.com) to see the large variety of invitations she can create. We tweaked the invite a few times and ended up with the perfect wedding invitation. I received tons of compliments on them as soon as I sent them out.

Although she is located in MD, it was not a problem designing the invitations long distance. She provides proofs via e-mail or can snail mail to you upon request.

Highly recommend.

Purchased Bari Jay dresses for bridesmaids and flower girl dresses from Sweet Beginnings at fantastic prices. Their prices were so much lower than any other vendors out there. Very responsive to all e-mails and quite professional. Both orders arrived a few weeks ahead of their projected delivery dates and in perfect condition. Would highly recommend.

We used the Cakery in San Luis Obispo for our wedding cake and groom's cake. Both cakes were fantastic! Everyone kept asking us who did the cakes. Many guests commented that is was the best wedding cake they have EVER tasted. Both cakes were beautifully decorated and absolutely delicious. Their carrot cake, cheesecake, and chocolate cake are to die for. We highly recommend them.
