This hotel offered a balcony with a breathtaking view fo downtown. We stayed in the Magnolia Retreat, Rm 21. The room was outfitted with chilled champagne, music playing, and was a perfect retreat after the day's events.

We received the most wonderful service with different music for dinner, our special dances, and songs special to us. Scott gave us such personal attention as letting us pick our songs from his library, and giving us the final play list to review. When we wanted a song he did not have, he purchased it for us. Scott was a wonderful DJ not trying to have an adoring crowd or detract attention from us. He skillfully directed the guests to dinner, to toasts, and to dancing. I would like to note that we have used Mr. Hoey on more than one occasion in the last four years for anniversary and birthday parties.

We ordered our cake from HEB. It was affordable and everyone raved over it. We ordered the Italian cream cake, although there were plenty of options. It was decorated beautifully and ready on time. The only thing that would have made it easier would have been a delivery option. We did pay for it ahead of time, so picking it up was simple. The bakery also provided us with decorative flowers for the cake and the towers to place the cake on. The only problem I encountered was in calling to confirm the cake order the week before the wedding. The person I talked to had not taken our order, and so I did have a moment of panic until they found our order.

Rev. John Connor was extremely helpful. As we did not want to write our own vows he gave us samples of vows from several different faiths and let us create our own together. He attended our rehearsal dinner. He also performed our pre-marriage counseling which was helpful in understanding communication. His wife was a gracious host while we were in their home for counseling, and also attended out wedding with their sweet daughters. During the ceremony Rev. John was comforting and supportive. We felt as though they were a part of our wedding as opposed to someone we hired to show up on the day.

This is a lovely facility. It is affordable and very relaxed. We were allowed to use the caterer of our choice. We felt that we had several options on where to have the ceremony. We got married in March, but still wanted an outdoor ceremony. I felt with Mercury Hall that the rain plan to get married inside was an equal choice to getting married outside. the rain would not have distressed me or ruined the wedding as it would have with so many other venues we looked at. The day of the wedding the site manager stayed out of the way and was very relaxed. He offered help if we needed it, but was very low key. We had a lovely wedding, and feel that Mercury Hall provided the perfect setting.

My husband received wonderful service here while picking out my engagement ring before he proposed. The sales person took time with him considering his budget and what design he had envisioned. The jeweler helped him create the perfect ring by choosing the diamond and then selecting a setting. My husband was very nervous about choosing a ring and staying in a price range. The jeweler also gave him tips and education about making a diamond selection to get the most value for his money. We also purchased our wedding bands from this store. The sales associate was friendly and personal, but we did not get a big sales speech. It was enjoyable. Every time I have been in the store since they have cleaned my rings.

This vendor collaborated with wedding party individuals in other cities to have them measured at alternate locations. They coordinated measurements and payments with the store we would be picking up the tuxes. The vendor had everything waiting for us on time, and called to confirm our order ahead of time. They had a wide selection to choose from, and were very precise on which style for which member of the wedding party as the fathers wore different tuxes. The store had everything waiting for us on time, and provided every possible accessory the men could possibly need. They also had a relaxed return policy that enabled us not to have to rush around trying to return everything immediately. We had a stress-free experience using this vendor.

This store had an extensive selection of quality papers in a variety of colors, weights, patterns, and matching envelopes. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable about what kind of printing worked best on each kind of paper. The employees were interested in what my plans were and had ideas and suggestions to help. This store will print and help you design your own invitations. They have examples and books of past projects for customers to peruse and gain ideas. I did not use their service as I had already designed my invitations and chose to complete the project myself.

This event was very helpful in letting me see what options were available. As the first child in my family to get married, we were at a loss of where to begin. The event gave us plenty of planning information. The event also showcased a variety of vendors showing us what was available as far as rentals, food, cakes, photographers, musicians, planning services, etc. The experience was eye-opening and little overwhelming. Despite being overwhelming, I am grateful I attended because I did not realize the options available for traditional and non-traditional weddings. I did not know I could plan my event around my personality, not around a specific cookie-cutter recipe. I did end up hiring my photographer whom I met at this event.
