My husband found this hotel online. We used priceline.com and were able to win a bid for $80 a night. The rooms usually go for more than $200 a night. It was by far the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. It had two or three golf courses, several tennis courts, at least two pools, a pool-side bar, beach access, sand volleyball court, and a huge courtyard with the greenest, softest grass. The rooms are just as beautiful. The room we stayed in had a balcony over a beautiful pond area with huge gold fish and iguanas. It was absolutely amazing. Near the lobby area was a large square bar with flat screen TVs on all sides and cherry wood (maybe it was mahogany). The only problem we had with this particular hotel was valet. You had to park in the garage and in order to leave, you HAD to get a ticket from valet and have it validated before you could leave. The only problem was valet is located near the lobby. There is only one elevator you can take to get to the parking garage. The lobby is extremely large, so it was kind of a pain to walk from one end (valet) all the way to the other end to the elevator. I’m a skinny woman who exercises on the regular, and this walk was extremely irritating about the hundredth time we did it. Not to mention, it wasn’t uncommon for us to forget the ticket in the room, so we would have to make that walk twice every time we wanted to leave. This whole charade always took about 45 minutes. Ridiculous!

The cakes were magnificent! Cynthia bakes them from scratch, including the frosting. She was extremely patient and sweet while we tried to decide what we wanted. We were able to taste several different types of cake along with fillings. It was such a difficult choice because everything tasted so good. We ended up going with white cake with a raspberry filling and a whipped white frosting. It had 3 square tiers that were off-centered (on purpose), and it was covered in pink rose petals and edible pearls. I think it probably cost us around $300-$400, and it was big enough to feed roughly 150 people. We were on an extremely tight budget, so we got the groom’s cake elsewhere.

I have nothing good to say about this vendor, except that the food was good and the table clothes and chair covers were pretty. This vendor supplies a lot of wedding essentials such as, tables & chairs, table cloths, chair covers, bouquets, boutonnières, flowers, cake toppers, cakes, other décor, etc, as well as catering. We decided to go with catering (maybe $16-$18 a head), the table cloths and chair covers ($1.50 each), the boutonnieres (free), and my bouquet ($150). The boutonnieres turned out pretty, and they did a good job on the decorations for the reception. However…my bouquet was a wreck, and they shouldn’t be allowed to cater. We were shown several pictures of different bouquets. I saw one that I absolutely loved and placed an order. I was told it would be brought to me on my wedding day. Wedding day comes, and my bridesmaids and I were getting our hair done. The bouquet gets dropped off, but it is the ugliest thing I think I’ve ever seen. It was ridiculously small, not enough flowers were used. It had black ribbon partially wrapped around the stem. So, of course, I ask for another one, the one I ordered. So, my pregnant bridesmaid had to pick it up because the darn lady wouldn’t come back in the direction we were located because she had to set up for the reception, which she was late to anyway. My second bouquet looked worse than the first one! So, I just dealt with it. We get to the reception and the servers don’t speak a lick of English, they won’t serve us, and they took all of our extra food that we had paid for! Half of our guests actually showed up, so we should have had a lot of dishes left over, and we paid by the head. Least to say, my husband and I were a little upset.

Well, it’s a dance studio with hard wood floors, a full wall mirror on one wall, very good quality sound system, disco lights, bar, and large dance space. We saw it and had to have it, not to mention the owner is awesome! We paid less than $1000, also, for the studio. Acencio (the owner) included the tables and chairs, all of the music (he acted as the D.J. and Master of Ceremonies). He also included an extra D.J. and a bartender in the cost. He helped us set up and break down everything. He is also a dance instructor, so he helped a little in that department as well. He did everything in his power to make sure nothing ruined our party, even when the servers wouldn’t serve us our food. Acencio and his co-worker (D.J.) served my husband and me when the servers wouldn’t. That’s another story.
Again, wow! Not only was she friendly, but she made sure everyone was in their place when needed. She took a lot of pictures, but very quickly. We wanted pictures of the ceremony and the reception. I did not get a bridal portrait, engagement pictures, or rehearsal dinner pictures. We caught her right when she was starting full-time photography, so we were cut a really good deal, especially with the pictures we received. We were extremely satisfied with the picture albums and wedding portrait. She included the cd, a 16x20 of a wedding portrait or bridal portrait (your choice), two coffee book albums for our parents, and a larger coffee book album for us. We paid $750, but her prices went up quite a bit. However, knowing what we do now, we would have paid a lot more for the work she puts into it. We highly recommend her!

I have always wanted an inside wedding in a Baptist church with pews. Luckily, my husband is Baptist, also. The sanctuary seats between 200 and 250 people. Our wedding was small, so of course, it did the job. I think I recall the church costing $200 with a $200 refundable deposit. The organist was included in the price. The pews are wooden with burnt orange seating, and the carpet is green. So, the colors didn’t exactly go together, but we used a white isle runner, so it didn’t look bad. The pictures never caught the color of the pews, so I didn’t mind so much. I can’t really say how long the isle is other than it’s about medium length, not too long or short.

Wow is all I can say. We were given a private room with a half a rectangular table, so everyone could see each other. We were given a choice of 5 different dishes the guests could choose from. All of them were absolutely excellent. My husband and I had tried the restaurant out a few times before placing our reservation with them. The price was astonishingly cheap for what we received. We paid less than $12 a head, which included tea or water. Anything else was paid by the guest, including alcoholic beverages. The glasses remained full, and the food was just delicious. Not to mention, the wait staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

First of all, a gay couple owns the place, David and Louis – in case that may bother you. They sure know what they’re doing, though. David offered Mimosas, breakfast, orange juice, and other snacks while we were getting our hair done. Louis did most of our hair, except the mother of the bride. David volunteered. They had us laughing almost the entire time. They didn’t take very long at all. So, why a rating of 3? I went to them twice before my wedding day, once for the consultation and once for high-lights. Both times, I was quoted one price and charged another. I was quoted nothing for the consultation and was charged $45. I was quoted $90 for high-lights and was charged $135 because I “have a lot of hair”. Of course, I paid what I was quoted. But, there’s nothing like feeling you’re being ripped off. I spent about $55 on each girl on my wedding day, including myself and my mom, and that was the only quote that did not change.

I loved that I could scope out everything online before actually ordering anything. I picked out a simple, black v-line dress about knee length (just below the knee). They cost about $120-130 each. The dresses were fantastic - looked just as they did, if not better. I ordered from the actual store, not online. I had no trouble ordering the dresses, once I had the girls' sizes. They were very good about hemming/alterations, as well, if needed. However, when I went to pick them up, there were three employees just standing around. I stood there for a good 20 minutes before I had to say something to get some help. Other than that, everything was perfect.

The staff was so incredibly helpful. I tried on several dresses, and the lady, in particular, that was helping me didn't get flustered. If she did, she didn't show it at all. She helped me find the perfect dress. She also helped me accessorize. The dress was very plain, and at first I was very skeptical. But…when Patty added a black ribbon that tied in the back, a white veil with black trimming, and black open-toed shoes, it gave the dress the perfect, elegant look I was going for. In addition to helping me find an affordable dress, she helped my mom find a gorgeous dress as well. The hemming was included in the price of the dress, as well as steam-cleaning. My dress, with accessories and all, totaled roughly $630. My mom’s dress cost roughly $150.
