As many others have said, the cakes are delicious. The ones we tried were really good.
But it sorta ends there. The lady in charge of their wedding cakes is a little quirky which is fine. What is off putting is how when you are talking to her it would that isn't really paying attention. She is always looking off into space or seemingly pre-occupied with something else. As I mentioned before the cakes we tried were great...the very few they actually had to try. A lot of the more interesting flavors were made to order only. Whats the point if you have this incredibly long list of flavors and you only really have 3-4 in the store to try. The other place we went to gave us a sample of ALL their flavors.
Needless to say their snooty reputation very much precedes them. Amazing cake, but for the price and the social interaction we went with someone else.
After trying a couple different cake places around Los Angeles, this one came as a recommendation from a close friend. Came round 9am and they had about 4 books of designs to show us as well as several delicious samples to try. They were extremely friendly and the overall cost of our cake (to serve 50-60 people) was VERY VERY VERY reasonable.
I would highly recommend these guys over almost any other specialty bakery in town.

Not inexpensive but soooo proffesional! Their products are all "green." They do hand calligraphy and use amazing and classic designs and textures. We are so happy with our invites and really liked working with them. It is a small company run by two women out of Culver City. They do a lot of the printing in their small office with old fashioned letter press machines. They are also really good about communicating with you through out the entire process.
