Carnival Valor: Ports of call: Grand Cayman; Isla Roatan, Honduras;Belize; Cozumel, Mexico. We picked this cruise because of its itinerary and it was within the dates we knew we could have off. We were really impressed with the ship. We had a balcony stateroom suite and let me tell you.. I don’t think I can cruise any other way now. We had a nice sized room with a sitting area, vanity area and a full bath with double sinks and a shower/tub combo that had jets in the tub. The room had more than enough space for the two of us and we both enjoyed the balcony. There was a lot to do on the ship on sea days. We spent some time around the pool, ate way too much, played mini golf, went to some shows/comedy shows, etc. Everything was very organized. The staff was great. Our room stewards and wait staff were amazing. We were sad to leave them and made sure to tip them well for their great efforts. The cruise director was very friendly, outgoing and funny. We also went up to the spa and got a couples’ massage. It was wonderful.

Really nice with beautiful rooms. We had a suite on the 10th floor with views of downtown and the intracoastal for our honeymoon night. The staff was very friendly and we got cookies when we checked in. We didn’t want to leave it the next day. One negative was that the elevators were slow during the day. I guess it was due to everyone trying to checkout, but you just don’t expect to have to wait forever when there are 3-4 elevators serving the hotel. The other negative was noise due to people’s doors slamming late at night. I realize that this is due to other’s negligence as they allowed the door to slam rather than close it softly. However, the headboard of our bed would shake every time our neighbor’s door slammed. I wouldn’t expect that to happen in a nice hotel. We still really liked the hotel and will probably stay at it again in the future.

Mike is a very nice guy and kept us informed of everything that was going on. All the correct songs were played at the right times. It seemed that everyone that wanted to dance stayed on the dance floor the whole time. He kind of stumbled over my wife's first name even after asking her how to say it, however it turned out okay. Overall, we enjoyed working with this company

In my opinion, they make the best cake. It was the perfect balance between moist and firm. I had tried a few other bakers and wasn’t all that impressed, so I was happy to taste their cake and have them as our baker. We were able to get two flavors: Strawberry with cream cheese icing filling and chocolate with chocolate raspberry fudge filling. Delicious! Everyone raved about the wedding cake. It was decorated well and very tall. My wife was worried about a three tier caking looking small, but they make very tall tiers. Overall, we were very pleased with this vendor

The service was amazing. We were given our own personal attendant and she took care of us the whole night. Our glasses were never empty. At the cocktail hour, we received our own plate of hors d’oeuvres which were amazing! Everyone loved the food. Marci, the catering manager, was great to work with. She even helped us come up with some ideas to go along with our Asian theme. They used triangle plates for the salad which was really cool and square for the entrée and dessert. They even put out these delicious chocolate truffles and biscotti along with the wedding cake. She was able to get us chiavari chairs and the burgundy crushed satin linens for a good price. We paid much less than the other caterers and got a lot more for the price. The only thing that disappointed me was that more of the truffles and biscotti didn’t get sent home with us. They boxed up like three truffles and three biscotti and we know there was more leftover as my wife and I didn’t touch any of the ones at our sweetheart table. Other than that minor thing, everything was great!

Patsy, the event coordinator, was very nice to work with. The place has some rules you need to follow, but it’s worth it. The venue is beautiful and really close to downtown and the intracoastal which makes for nice pictures. We got a lot of compliments that night. Everyone was really impressed with the venue. I’m very happy that we were able to have our reception there.

Instead of doing the typical limo, we decided to have some fun and rent a sports car. We rented a red convertible Nissan 350Z. It was a lot of fun. The day after the wedding we ended up returning the car later than we were supposed, but the guy we dealt with was really nice and let us off the hook. In the future, I could see us using them again.

Alan was our videographer for the day. He was unobtrusive and did his job very well. However, he did ask to leave early. Luckily, when we asked him to stay until the end (another 30 minutes) because we were doing a send off, he did. Our video turned out very well especially considering the constrictions the church placed on him. Our families were also very excited to see the video. Another plus of theirs is that they shoot in Blu Ray so you can get your wedding in high def.

When I first met Mike, I thought he was very friendly. We got along well with him and we enjoyed taking our engagement pictures with him. A few months afterward, my wife met someone who had met with him and he told her he wasn’t going to be doing weddings anymore. I got a little worried and had considered hiring a back up photographer just in case, but didn’t listen to my gut because I thought I was overreacting. On the day of, he rushed through the post ceremony pictures. We got a good amount, but we didn’t get some shots that I wanted. The contract was for 7 hours, so he was supposed to leave at 9:30 which was 30 minutes before the end of the reception. A week before the wedding, I told him I didn’t mind paying overtime to have him there the whole time, but he brushed it off as unnecessary. That put me off. In the end, we got him to stay until the end and paid the overtime fee. We were able to get some beautiful pictures and we like our album, but we were not very happy with his attitude. There was at least one instance where he more or less pushed a guest out of the way so he could take a picture. I understand he was trying to get his shot, but all of my guests were family or close family friends. They all wanted to take their own pictures or talk to me or my wife. Some of the guests noticed this, which was embarrassing to me. In the end, it was apparent he doesn’t want to be a photographer anymore. This was disappointing to me; however I’m happy we have a lot of great pictures.

I worked with a woman name Sharon at the Jacksonville, FL location. She was very helpful when it was time for us to choose our wedding bands. I think we went there a million times and she was always patient and helpful. She made us feel comfortable which was really nice. Our rings came in at the estimated time in perfect condition. I couldn't have ask for better service.
