We love Flowers by Dan! Not only is he on our vendor list, but he was recommended to us by a stranger we met in a coffee shop who used him for their wedding. After meeting Dan, you'll see how great and genuine he is. He's honestly about making the most beautiful arrangments for the bride and groom, and at a very reasonable price!

Our wedding is in March 2008, so we'll update then! But I doubt this review will change.

Our wedding was perfect!

When we arrived at our wedding location Dan was there setting up for the ceremony. At the ceremony our flowers were absolutely beautiful! My bouquet was gorgeous, green roses to perfection. My bridesmaids bouquets were also amazing, pink and green roses. Because I'm very floral-illiterate, only really loving roses, I had a hard time thinking of other flowers to put into our wedding. Dan had helped us plan every flower on every single person who was involved with our wedding. Of course there were roses everywhere (because I love them). But he made the arrangments even more beautiful with the combination of other flowers that complimented each other. These included lilies down the isle, orchids for the moms, roses for the dads, etc!

For many months Dan had created this beautiful picture in my mind of my wedding, and that day he brought it into reality. Rose petals lined the isle and he created our circle of love in roses. It was amazing. My photographer loved the flowers, because our photographer was a family friend he asked if we paid a fortune on flowers, and the answer was an excited "NO!" Dan offers you the best and most beautiful flowers for the best price; when he describes what he'll be doing for you at the wedding, it's sometimes hard to believe he can provide that much for what you're paying for, but somehow Dan pulls it off and you get way more than you've ever dreamed of.

On to the reception... Dan helped us to create beautiful centerpieces, with lights! They were the hit of the wedding with everyone wanting to take them home. It was very difficult to come up with centerpiece ideas because I dislike those really tall ones, but you barely notice the really short ones. So together we created this medium sized piece, which was about a foot tall and stunning. Dan's idea to put water into the vase (which was a very thick glass mug) was brilliant, when the lights shine through the look was elegant.

Our head table was fully decorated with flowers. With everything: pink and green roses, pink and green lilies, orchids, and a lot of more flowers that I can't name. It was beautiful and amazing, and that's all that mattered.

We feel so lucky to have met Dan. Not only was he our florist, but he was a great resource in all aspects of wedding planning. He was helped us find our minister (who was also wonderful, Rev. Southwick) and our bakery (Jaqkie's Cake Creations). But as a florist, Dan went far and beyond what one expects. He's not only your florist but he's also becomes a friend who cares a lot about your wedding. You'll see in his work how much he cares about your wedding and how important it is for him to make it an amazing day and start to your marriage.

Pros: Definitely affordable, a million times a friend, he seriously cares about your wedding and he'll provided you the most beautiful floral arrangements you'll ever see at a wedding/event!

Cons: None!!!!

Edge was recommended by our friends who used them. We first met with Jamie for some information. She was great and very informative. Then she recommended and showed us the videos on some of her DJs. We chose to meet with Joe, who we adore! Great personality, great guy! I'll update after the wedding!

My rating and review may change after March 22, 2008... cause that's the day I get married at Calamigos! But so far the location seems perfect. The staff seems great and have so far been very good. They respond to my questions almost immediately through email or over the phone. The food was also great at our tasting. The property itself is very beautiful, we're getting married at their Little White House which is a beautiful outdoor area and then moving into the Grand Prix Ballroom. It's a beautiful setting and room, we're so excited!

*** UPDATE Post Wedding *** Calamigos was great! The food was good, everything went smoothly. I would recommend making sure appetizers are brought to the bride and groom and wedding party, if you aren't in the reception hall for food already. You're paying per person for appetizers, including yourself and the wedding party, so make sure someone brings you some food! That's about it. Otherwise it was great!

Found my pefect dress at Group USA. Service sucks because they are under staffed, but for the price ($400 total!!!) you can't really complain. It was THE dress, I tried it on and I just knew it was the dress!
